CHAPTER 26: HOSPITAL

REAH'S POV 

Opening my eyes, I felt a slight sting from my eyes that made me close them again. I opened my mouth, breathing in as I tried to open my eyes again and this time, it was successful. 

I looked around me, trying to figure out where I was as I was certain this place wasn't Alpha Xavier's home and it wasn't my former room either. 

Soon, a figure came into view and my eyes widened when I saw that it was Alpha Xavier. I tried to stand up but I was dragged back by my heavy body and right then, my head started aching terribly. 

I grabbed my head and looked around again, "This seems to be a hospital VIP room. What am I doing here?" I was a bit confused as I asked out loud, hoping Alpha Xavier would reply to me. 

"You don't remember?" He asked and I shook my head. 

Yesterday, I was at the team dinner with other colleagues and we were having fun until Fryster pointed out that I was drunk. Later, I tried to stand up and... "I do not remember anything. How did I leave that place?" I asked, looking at Alpha Xavier again. 

His expression was dark and it was obvious that he was very angry. He moved closer to me and glared at me "Did you forget that you are carrying my child?" He asked, confusing me even more. "How dare you drink alcohol in the early stages of pregnancy!" He yelled!

My brows furrowed and I inwardly gasped. That was right, I shouldn't have taken so much alcohol when I was in my early stages but what was really my fault? The reason I lost myself and drank so much was because I was sad. I couldn't help but want to return to my old life as I wasn't okay with the way Alpha Xavier treated me like nobody. 

He was the reason I drank so much but at the moment, I was very scared. Forgetting about blaming anyone for the drinking, I placed my free hand on my belly and tried to feel my baby only to realize that it was too early for that. 

I looked at Alpha Xavier again "How is my baby now? Is it okay?" I asked. 

Alpha Xavier pocketed his hands and moved back from me. It was obvious he wasn't going to reply to me. 

I felt very scared, my heart was racing and I impatiently waited for the doctors to come in. I needed to know the condition of my child...

Suddenly, a pang of regret hit my chest and I felt the urge to cry. A single tear rolled down my eyes, followed by another. I shook my head, inwardly praying that the child would be okay. 

The door opened and a doctor came in. His eyes lit up when he realized I was awake and he walked over to me, standing beside me. "Please, Doctor. How's my baby?" I immediately asked him. 

The doctor looked at me and smiled softly "Your baby is fine but your womb is weak at the moment," The Doctor replied. "You should be very careful. Stay away from things that can endanger the life of the baby inside you and make sure you take some nutrients from now on. Your body lacks them," He explained. 

Hearing that, I couldn't help but breathe in relief. I closed my eyes and smiled brightly. Knowing that the baby was all right made me so happy that for a moment, I forgot about all my troubles and just wanted to rejoice. 

"What are the nutrients that she needs for the baby to be safe?"

Alpha Xavier's voice pulled me out of my happy world and I looked at the doctor too, curiously waiting for his reply. 

The doctor dipped his hand inside his pocket and brought out a paper which he handed over to Alpha Xavier. "You should get her the nutrients I wrote there. If she takes them for two weeks, her body will become stronger and the baby will be safe," He told the Alpha. 

Alpha Xavier opened the paper, stared at the things written in it and nodded his head "Okay," He replied coldly and walked toward the door. He glanced at me and left the room. 

The moment he left, I saw the doctor grabbing his chest and breathing hard. 

"Are you okay?" I couldn't help but ask. 

The doctor looked at me and nodded, a bitter smile showing on his lips "I'm just glad you're awake already and that the baby is fine," He replied as he changed my drip. 

He injected me and left the room. I had no idea what he meant by what he said but I wasn't ready to know either. 

Soon, the door opened and Luna Bella walked in, seeing her, I felt incredibly excited and I smiled brightly at her. "Mum!' I called. 

I had no idea why but somehow, Luna Bella gave me the same motherly feeling I got from my mother and having her around made me strong. I felt the urge to stand up and hug her but I knew I mustn't disrupt the drip. 

She closed the door and walked over "Oh My, Are you okay?" She asked and I nodded my head. 

"I'm okay. The baby is fine too. The doctor prescribed some nutrients for Alpha Xavier to get and he has gone to get them," I explained to her so she wouldn't be too worried about me. 

She smiled and nodded her head "I saw him while he was leaving. The doctor already explained the situation to me too. I'm just glad you're okay," She said as she opened the bag with her. 

She brought out a food pack and my eyes lit up because I was feeling a little hungry. She helped me sit up in bed and arranged the food in front of me. 

The sweet aroma coming from the food made me excited and without a word, I ate happily. After a while, she removed the empty plates with an excited smile on her face. 

"I'm glad you still have an appetite even though you ain't feeling fine. That makes me very relieved," She said sweetly as she stroked my hair. 

Luna Bella sat with me for a few hours. She talked to me about various things which made me laugh. However, her expression soon changed "Yes, Reah," She called. 

"Mum? What's it?" I asked. 

She let out a deep breath, "You know I'm not that healthy, right?" She asked and I nodded. "After I lost my husband back then, I had been feeling very weak and the weak feeling had turned into an illness," Her tone was sad as she explained. "The doctor treating me here introduced a foreign doctor to me and according to him, the doctor is very busy which means I will have to go meet him overseas. The date has been scheduled for next week and I will be leaving for two or three months," She informed me and for some reason, my heart ached badly. 

I felt the urge to start crying~
