The Luna.

IRIS.

The battle of stare lasted for over a minute. At some point, I became afraid, thinking about how I had put the woman on the spot when she was only trying to be nice to me.

"Giselle, I–"

The door opened abruptly, cutting off my apology. I watched as the kind and worried look on Giselle's face dropped, quickly replaced by an informidable one before she turned to look at whoever the intruder was.

"What insolent act is that?!" She barked at the newcomer.

I leaned to a side so I could see who it was. I frowned when I saw a young girl of no more than twelve lowered her head. Whether it was from respect for Giselle or fear of her, I couldn't tell.

"The Luna... I was just trying... trying..."

"For goddess's sake, Clarise, stop trying. How many tines have I told you that?" Even though Giselle's voice was stern, she didn't sound as awful as some of my teachers from school.

"I just wanted to make sure the Luna was okay." The girl called Clarise said solemnly.

"It's okay, Giselle.
