The lycan and wolves stop around ten metres away from me; the numbers continuing to grow as I watch uneasy. So many lycan. The average lycan can take on three to four strong wolves, the number of them now leaves our side as a disadvantage. As the anxiousness continues to grow the presence of someone else comes into focus for me. Someone I never thought I'd be relieved to sense.

I look behind me, aleast twenty metres away and see Mira, three unfamiliar faces surrounding her. Each one of them holding objects in their hands, their eyes closed and their mouths moving as they chant. Her eyes meet mine and this time I don't feel rage. She's here to defend the people I love, so for now; I appreciate her. The witches will help provide an advantage the lycan's will not expect and even out the playing field while the rest of our warriors arrive.

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    The war is over, yet the price isn't paid.

Cole has the lycan Prince engaged in battle, both growling as they seek to find the upper hand on each other. The other lycan try to join the fight but the wolves pounce. Holding them off, the battle far from over as they continue to fight each other. I won't stay out of it though, this fight will not end the same way, I can't lose him again. Aurora's jaws come down hard on his thigh, pulling back with all her strength. The prince screams but he doesn't slow, his fighting back, hard. Cole joins us; together we both bite into his shoulders, bringing him to the ground until Aurora goes for the kill. Ripping out his throat in one movement, spitting out the flesh to the ground beside her as the prince is left dead; his eyes still open. The lycans roar. The remaining turning to run as their leader lies in a pool of his blood. The life is his eyes gone. His death caused by his own greed and search for power. 'This is what he deserves for killing our mate' Aurora breaths, the relief of

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    What are you willing to sacrifice?

My mind drifts to a place I once enjoyed being summoned to. Now, I'm filled with anger and disappointment. Why encourage me to embrace my mates only to take Tristan away from me. She could have warned me about Leon too. The moment I see her white eyes I turn away. Refusing to acknowledge her. I feel her come closer and do nothing. "My child, please..", tears are flooding down my face, I'm not capable of this right now. I can't. I know all wolves struggle with the loss of their mates, but it doesn't feel like just my heart. My whole body feels his loss, I don't even want to think about my life without him. "You didn't recognise the symbol on Leon's necklace?" I turn, caught by my curiosity. She holds up her own necklace, the symbol of two cresent moons combined, a perfect match. I stare at her in confusion; "he hid from me too, I didn't know it was possible" she sighs sadly. I look to the ground. I can't do this right now. I can't do

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    My world ends.

Armina's perspective: I'm back on the ground, staggering as I throw my arms out again, sending another two lycan back onto their asses, which is quickly followed by wolves ripping out their throats before they continue to fight others. I can't keep it up, my body is draining to quick to replenish through the earth. I turn to the left, seeing Mira as she holds hands with one of her fellow witches, throwing fire at a close by lycan who is fighting Connor, Connor quickly finishing him off. Next to him I watch a Lycan rip out Lukas's throat, my heart breaking for the young warrior as he returns to his human form, falling to the ground. The light leaving his eyes as his life ends. My heart breaks for the young warrior; as I turn back to the lycan king and his son Jarrod. The lycan king isn't backing down, Jarrod also close by his side, ensuring to back him up every step of the way. One of them needs to be taken out if we are going to have any chance of winning this. He growls and cha

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    An endless battle.

Armina's perspective: I haven't shifted yet, wanting to use my abilities until I'm all drained out before letting Aurora take control. I throw my arms out, sending the closest lycan hard into the trees where Connor & another wolf make quick work of him. I turn to the next two, sending them both back, one impaling on a branch and roaring in pain, as the other attempts to get back up and charge me. Dimitri is on him in seconds, his teeth clenching on his arm. The lycan punches him, hard. I'm scared, his still healing. But it's seconds before Karos arrives. His teeth catching the lycan at the throat and crushing it in seconds. I turn to see another lycan coming towards me and prepare to summon the wind again but Croxus is quicker. Tackling him to the ground and snarling as he tries to go for the kill. The lycan is quick and spins, kicking Croxus hard across the head. Sending him flying back hard. The lycan lunges forward, going for his chest. I scream, throwing my power

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    The war has arrived.

"There is still hope for you to survive Armina" Leon says suddenly as I look at him in disgust. "You can surrender" he adds, an almost smirk on his face which turns my stomach. "You give me what I want and I promise I'll let you go in a few years" his eyes wandering up and down my body as I feel lust coming from him. I almost gag, feeling my stomach turn and finding myself suddenly grateful I hadn't eaten much recently or I'd probably be throwing up right now. Has he always been this cocky and arrogant ass? He always seemed to have a cushion upbringing, there is no obvious reason for how he became this jaded. "You really thought I'd sleep with you after you killed my mate?" Aurora and I both growl at him. Leon scoffs, "Your mate is pathetic" my hand instantly lashing out and punching him in the mouth, he spits out blood, shaking his head. He laughs again, which makes me want to snap his neck, this asshole deserves to die. "You really thought I'd give you children?" I say darkly, "
