Chapter 8: Alec's Mother, Priya.

The next day,

In another part of the city, in a flashy mansion, one of the rooms: a woman resided.

The rooms were decorated with green floral carpets, the tiles were purely white giving it a classic expression.

The curtains were made with exotic red lace, the fabric alone was worth a fortune.

There were many items in the rooms, from the glass table that made the whole room appear more colorful.

To the green couch placed adjacent the room, the exotics tables and the large TV screen that made it look more flashier.

Seated on the couch was a middle aged woman, though there appeared some age lines on the corners of her face, the makeup she applied made her look more younger; though it didn't quite hide the age lines on her face.

Her hands held the glass cup firmly, she sipped from the glass bit by bit glancing at her phone.

Her manner attracted fashion, champing her lips together, she appeared more older from another point of view.

Of course she could have anything she wanted with just the taps of her fingers, she was a Hart, Alec's mother.

"Madam," A butler appeared in the room, gazing around for a while. "Your first daughter is here to see you,"

Priya waved the glass cup in the air, suddenly thinking about her daughter, Alexis, it has quite been long.

"Let her in," She took another sip from the glass in her hands.

The butler nodded before leaving the room, and after seconds, he appeared back with Alexis.

She had her brown shades on, talkless of the dress she was putting on at that moment.

She took a seat on one of the chairs that was available, she smiled at her mother.

"Mother," She smiled, "how have you been?"

"I am fine." But it seemed like the woman didn't really care about those greeting stuff, so she moved straight to the point.

"How did it go? Did you manage to convince him to propose to Haylee? what did he say?" She threw the questions at her immediately.

Alexis widened her eyes in surprise, "Mom, that's too many questions." A heavy sigh emitted from her lips.

"He is a hard nut to crack; he seemed not to be ready to propose, I don't think he even likes her," Alexis leaned on the chair.

'What? Did I hear it right? He didn't like her or what am I hearing?'

"I will try and talk to him myself, maybe he listens to me better.'' She shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't think so; divorcing Natasha was his regret, are you sure he would listen to you?" Alexis said.

"He might and besides, Natasha never loved him, she only loved his money," She gritted her teeth in anger, she hated Natasha and that was for sure.

"Whatever you say," Alexis sighed, gazing around the room briefly, her eyes had no say as she looked around.

Her phone rang loudly, with anger she wanted to shut the phone call off, but seeing the caller, her hand halted in clicking the 'reject' button.

Her hand made a halt as she stared at the caller, "Mom, Haylee is calling." She whispered to her mother.

"Now? well pick it," She urged her daughter.

Alexis assured herself before clicking the 'accept button', slowly but steadily, she placed the phone firmly on her ear.

"Hello?" She was the first person to say something, her hands calming her fast pounding heart.

"Hi? Alexis? how are you?" The voice was so warm, that it could make one feel so comfortable, but after knowing the snake's venom, you get afraid to go near it.

"Haylee? Why the call? Are you back from abroad?" She asked, pressing the phone firmly.

Her mother nodded her head, listening to what they were discussing, again she also tried to calm her heart in steady.

"Yes I am, my flight landed yesterday, what is up?" The voice turned a little colder from the background.

Alexis forced herself to swallow her spit, trying her best to calm herself down, she stared around with flickering eyelids.

"That's great, umm about Alec…" Her words were cut short instantly.

"I don't care in whatever he said, just make him marry me, or else." her words held some kind of warning, she shivered silently at the mention of her words.

"Don't worry; he will get married to you, I promise," She shivered as she said those words.

"Great, don't let me expose your secret to the whole world." In the next second, Haylee hung up the call.

Alexis flinched her cell phone to the other side of the couch, she covered her face with her palm and exclaimed.

"What am I going to do now, what happens if Haylee exposes our secret, we are done for!" She lamented bitterly.

Her mother dropped the glass cup on the table and coaxed her daughter comfortably.

"I am with you, we are all in this together," She coaxed her daughter's hair comfortably like any woman would do.

Alexis smiled to her mother, "What are we going to do about Alec? he seems to be too stubborn headed, I will see what I can do,"

"I will convince him, he always listens to me," her mother said.

Alexis stood up to leave with a bow, "I will be going now, see you later, I will call you" She kissed her mother goodbye before exiting the room.

Her mother watched her figure with a sigh.
