 ELSA’S POV

It didn’t take long before I got back to the room with a big tray filled with meat. The evolution was extremely painful, I could remember literally tearing at my own skin. That wouldn’t be good in the middle of a battle, the enemy would quickly kill me.

What was Alex even thinking, he almost got himself killed out there, if I had shown up a bit later than I did. It would have been an entirely different story. He looked so beaten up. Why would he risk his life that way for me? Well with the way I am now, I wonder if I could beat Salvatore in a fight. During the time I held his weapon when he was close to killing Alex, I was barely holding on. I’ve grown quite a lot but it still isn’t enough.

“That was fast.” Alex said, as I entered the room.

“Yeah, couldn’t keep you waiting.” I said, smiling back.

He held his gaze at me for a while before turning to the food.

“Alex If your sister comes in my way, I would have to kill her.”

“With the way you’re right now, are you sure you could?” He replied.

“I don’t want to find out, because only one person would live to tell the story.”

“We’ve to stick together from now onwards, it’s the only way I can be able to protect you from her.”

“I don’t need your protection, I can handle myself.”

“Elsa this isn’t just about your strength, we need to be smart in this. My sister can be very unpredictable, but I can help if I’m around, I know a bit of how she thinks.” Alex replied.

“Is that your way of asking for my room number?” I shot back, with a smirk.

His cheeks seemed to have brightened up from what I said.

“No Elsa. I only intend on protecting you.” He said, staring at me with a certainty that didn’t reach his eyes.

I got up. Turned to the door, attempting to leave the room.

“Wait!! I also really like your company.” He said, scratching his head. It was amusing seeing him that way.

“7089, have a little rest. I’ll see you later.” He had a broad smile on his face before I turned back to the door, taking my exit.

“You missed history class.”

“Shit. When was that?”

“We just got back. The class ended a few minutes ago.” Isabella added.

“Elsa, you do know if you keep skipping classes you could be repeated or worse expelled.” Oliver said, with his hands in his pocket.

“I know, it was just yesterday… and today. It won’t happen again.” I replied, with a reassuring smile.

“I hear you were taking care of Prince Alexander. You should know we are not on good terms.” Oliver said, folding his arms.”

“He has helped me in the past, I consider him a friend.” I replied, noticing his palms tighten.

“Let’s relax now guys. But Elsa, you should be careful with his sister besides I thought you wanted to kill her, wouldn’t that be more difficult if her brother is your friend?” Isabella replied, her expression still shrouded by indifference.

I let out a big sigh.

“It’s a bit complicated now, I can’t..”

My words were interrupted by the phone ringing. It was mine. I had gotten a new phone during one of the days that followed after I arrived in Sheffield. I wasn’t able to reach my dad, his line was never reachable, and it was his line alone I ever had offhand. It made me worried but I still had faith since the god reassured he was alive.

There were only about four contacts on my phone; Isabella’s, Oliver, Richard and Brads. These were my only friends since I got to the academy. Which made me puzzled seeing an unfamiliar number.

“Elsa, this is Beta Daniel speaking. Come to the roof top.” He said, ending the call.

“Who was that?” Isabella asked, noticing the troubled expression I had.

“It’s just something I need to sort out. I’ll be back.” I replied.

“Don’t forget we have Reality Practicals in about thirty minutes.” Isabella added again.

“I’m aware. I will be there on time.”

Alpha Lucifer was really getting annoying. But I had to keep up with his shit to know what plans he had in mind, not that I could beat him yet. I wondered if the Alpha command could work on him since he was an Alpha too.

I held the balcony I had jumped onto from one of the far end windows of the hall. My weight felt lighter, my body gravitated easier now, it was incredible. I had never felt more comfortable in my own skin. Grabbing the last pillar, I pushed my weight up landing easily on my feet. The castle really had many towers, considering its enormous size, and I now stood on the rooftop of one of them.

I could only see a man in a black wear, that left only his arms open. He was already staring at me like he had been there for hours. He looked like an assassin, i was familiar with this method of dressing because I wore similar outfits while I was The Night Angel.

“It’s just me here, the Alpha won’t be joining us today.” He replied, stepping closer.

“But you told me he would like a word.”

“Yes of course he’ll. That's why I’m here.” He replied.

It seemed this guy was even more annoying than his alpha.

“He has a task for you. But he wishes to know how capable you’re of carrying out this task.”

I didn’t get the chance to understand as my eye was almost gotten by a whip. Is everybody just out to kill? By the gods!! I screamed in my head as I dodged the strike at the last second.

“That was not bad.” He said, bringing his weapon back. It made a heavy lash at the air as he straightened it again. I had never seen such a weapon before. but it looked like it could cause enough damage. At the extreme end of it you could see the razor sharp tooth. Its body was metallic with numerous spikes protruding from it.

He attacked again, this time turning it round like a tornado. I ducked, bent, rolled and even blocked. It was getting faster now, the attacks were starting to get to me. A spike scratched my cheek, drawing out blood.

I don’t have time for this, I can’t miss another class today. I let out my intent to the beta. My aura pulsed like a fury. He stopped involuntarily.

“That’s a really powerful intent you got there child. I underestimated you. I didn’t expect you to last that long.” He said, returning his weapon to his dimensional ring.

“I’m glad I passed your test, so what’s the task?.” I replied, bowing.

“You must kill Blodimir Athelstan, he is a level 4 student here in Sheffield. You have a week's time to do this. See this as your first step in proving your loyalty to your Alpha, I trust you’ll make no mistakes. No one can find out who did it or a connection with Alpha Lucifer.” He replied.

“I… can’t do it.”

ELSA’S POVRodriguez looked flustered. The expression on his face revealed his embarrassment. His lips parted while making a statement but the words stuck on his tongue.“Anyways, be more careful with your lucid thoughts next time.”His hand met his hair as he scratched while looking elsewhere.“But what is this? You can hear my thoughts now?”“Yes, whenever I choose to. I can communicate telepathically also. The pack rules bind you and you will suffer if you violate them.”I turned to leave, and I had already taken a few steps when I noticed a looming shadow that stood above me. I turned back already knowing who followed me.“Elsa.”“Alex, you always pull up at the most unexpected time.”His lips curled in an elated smile as he got closer, taking me in for a warm embrace. It was the same feeling I felt every time I was with him, each time I wrapped my arms around him, there was this feeling in my heart, like it shouldn't end. But it always did. Incidentally, after thinking about thi

“You finally figured it out. It must have been a hard puzzle to solve.” Ha answered, his sarcasm obvious in his reply.“I told you to watch your back, no one humiliates me that way.” He got up from where he was, forming another fight stance.“So what is this, revenge?” I asked, stepping closer. Rodriguez was no match for me, but I liked his resilience; he wasn’t one to give up easily.“How about a deal Rodriguez?”He raised the corner of his eye. He stared at me for a while. After what felt like decades he responded“What kind of deal?”“It’s simple, if I lose this fight I’ll do whatever you say.”“No. That won’t be necessary, I intend on killing you here.” He replied, waving my words away.“Yes, you could end my life if you want.”“And what’s in it for you?” he shifted his leg, adjusting his stance to look stern.“You’ll work for me.” “Girl, you have some serious guts. You'll meet the gods today.”“Are you afraid to accept?”“Hahaha, you know what? I accept your request. This just

“Isn’t that the level four student who was angry when you turned him down?” It was Oliver who spoke and he just revealed some interesting information while looking at Isabella.“I feel sorry for him, imagine getting turned down by Isabella,” Brad said, laughing. Richard bumped his shoulders saying“Oh come on, stop messing around, you know how much of a jerk Athelstan was to Isabella.” “What did he do Isabella?” I asked. I didn't want to look too interested in the topic, so I wandered carefreely.Isabella’s face contorted in an unsettling way as she recalled the story. “Athelstan approached me in the first week of school, he professed love to me stating it was love at first sight, he said he could feel our connection… that I was his mate.”Everyone fell silent as Isabella narrated her ordeal with Athelstan.“I didn’t want to sound rude, so I just told him that I wasn’t ready for that, I also emphasized that I was a fresher. Athelstan didn't take this lightly, he felt his ego was b

“What the hell, that was so gruesome.”“She would have just targeted the eyes.”“I hate to be that beast.”“I think it was Oliver that killed the beast.”The students had a lot of opinions about the fight, especially the ghastly death of the monster. Many were surprised by the unorthodox method I chose, to kill the monster. But I didn’t really care about that, I was just glad it was over.“That was a good one… wouldn’t you agree with me, class?”It seemed mica had a few things to say as she got up to her feet.“Agree with you? We almost died Ser, this was definitely beyond a Ravage tier monster.”“Yes. It most certainly was. For those of you looking to work for the guilds and become adventurers, do you think you’ll decide the tier of the monster you’ll encounter while in there? Werewolves have only covered fifteen percent of the Elshire forest, with so many mysterious and unknown creatures yet to be discovered.”He paused, his gaze turned to me suddenly, it was as though he was tryin

“Oliver, it's right behind you!” I screamed out, to Oliver. He jumped up avoiding the strike to the leg delivered by the giant spider.Just minutes ago we had discussed our strengths to devise ways to end it quickly. Oliver and Benjamin were placed as our offensives considering they were stronger.“I want to be on the offensive too.” I said out loud, deciding not to be quiet.“What? You wanna get yourself killed?” Benjamin replied, his eyes seemed to be weighing me. “Besides, we will really need you guys to back us up on the defensive.” He added.“Thelma, be on the look out for the weak spot, you might notice while we are attacking.” Oliver said, releasing what looked like a trident. It wasn’t a lycan weapon but I could tell it was lethal. The spider had already revealed itself fully now. It was tall, reaching half the height of the colosseum. “Woahh!” Mica exclaimed, dodging a web that came from its mouth. It roared in anger, going straight for her again. Oliver rushed in with his

“What did you just say?” Daniel replied with a raised brow.“I mean… I don’t know if I’m strong enough to take him out.”“That is your problem. Do not disappoint the alpha.”“What if I get killed or caught doing this task?”“Then you should be proud of dying for your Alpha. But if you get caught, you know better than to mention his involvement in it. I wish you the best of luck child, try not to die yet. You interest me.” He replied heading to the stairway.Great, now I’m tasked to kill an innocent person. I can’t do that. It just makes me part of the system I fight against. I didn’t want to follow the stairway so I used the balcony again, bringing myself all the way down. Jumping and sliding down different platforms till I was back in the hallway I took off from earlier.I just had a few minutes more before my lecture, I sprinted as fast as I could, I left the castle grounds in seconds, the lecture wasn’t held in one of the many spaces in the school, rather it was held in the school
