Could this be it? Would I really die this way?  I recounted my past memories as the sword went down my throat. I ought to have been dead already… but I wasn’t. It was quite shocking to me that I could still breathe, I could still smell Salvatore’s scent, I could still feel the blood running through my body. I looked up now, I could see her, she held the blade firmly, I could sense the strength Salvatore used in that last attack plus the added boost of the lycan weapon, and yet she held it firmly.

She looked a little different now, her jawline looked more defined, she had this look in her eyes that carried the weight of problems no one could understand. Her obsidian hair gleamed in the moonlight, somehow both darker and brighter now.

Salvatore looked flabbergasted to suddenly see her holding onto his staff, he had already frozen on the spot, he stood afterwards returning the weapon to his dimensional ring.

“Elsa, you’re okay.”

“Yes I’m well now.” She replied.

She looked at me with a burning gaze, her eyes shone as blue as the clouds holding secrets as old as our kind, I kept imagining what she could be thinking. She stretched forth her hand, in order to help me up. I accepted quickly. She hooked my arm across her shoulders, bearing my weight as she pushed forward.

“Aahhh, my leg, I don’t think I can walk with it right now.” I said, a sharp cry escaping my lips.

I couldn’t understand the look on her face any longer, I tried to but I just couldn’t. Without saying any other thing, she carried me from my feet, while her other hand held my back, holding me firmly to her. I didn’t try to turn my head back, I could already feel it, Salvatore was staring at me like a prey. I felt really weird being carried this way by Elsa, I mean it should be the other way round but isn't like any other girl. She’s different.

“Elsa, you’ve to listen to me, I need you to be extremely careful my sis…”

“Shhhh, I want you to remain quiet, would you listen to me?.”

“Okay…”

I made up my mind to listen. No, more accurately something in her tone compelled me to obey, it didn’t feel like an order, it was something deeper. We had reached the halls and my insides were roaring in pain threatening to worsen if I move a muscle.

“Remind me your room number?”

“4099.” I replied.

I had drained a lot of energy fighting Salvatore, I could feel my eyelids closing, the world swirled in a haze once more, then darkness claimed my sight.

I woke up from sleep with a painful headache, I stared at the ceiling and it felt as though everything kept spinning in circles. I stood from where I laid gradually but I soon regretted that move as the headache seemed to have worsened. I turned to my left and I saw Elsa sitting beside the window, she seemed to be thinking about something, she still didn’t know I was out of bed.

“You’ve been asleep for a day now.” She said, I was a bit surprised.

“Elsa, what reason would Salvatore have to protect you that day? His selfishness isn’t unpopular here, why would he fight to the death, even putting his life in danger, just to protect you?

She hadn’t replied to me yet, it seemed her focus was somewhere else.

“On sighting you in that morgue, I was dead scared you could be in trouble, but I was wrong, he was guarding you.”

“Alex, do you trust me?”

“Ofcourse I trust you Elsa.”

“Good then listen carefully to what I’m about to say.” She said, her gaze locking onto me with sudden, intense seriousness.

“I’m an Alpha.”

“Elsa, I think I’m a bit lost here, did you just say you’re an Alpha?” I asked, looking at her. She nodded in affirmation.

“You can’t be an Alpha Elsa, there are only five Alphas in the world, it’s not possible.”

I was really confused by this revelation, it has never been heard that there existed more than five alphas in a generation, it just wasn’t plausible to me. It came back to me, the moment Salvatore nearly finished me , he had declared that there existed only one true Alpha.

I was perplexed, I had to take in the information but it was just impossible to understand.

“You doubt me Salvatore, I never thought you would.” She replied, crossing her leg.

Then it happened, the red flared, radiating a force of untamed power, pulsing with raw power and regal authority. Just like my father’s… she was undeniably an Alpha. I told quietly from where I sat, approaching her with caution, the raw power was very evident in her eyes, getting nearer, I reached to her face, but I held back again, bringing my arm down.

I was utterly confused as I walked to the door, I turned again reaching the edge of the room. Things are getting really bad now.

“You’re in grave danger, do you know that?”

“What does it matter, I’ve known danger all my life, I’m used to it now.”

“No Elsa this different, everyone one, every Alpha out there, if they get to learn of this will come for you, you would either be used as a weapon for them or your head as a trophy in their cabinet.”

“They can try.” Elsa replied, raising a brow.

“Wait, does that mean Salvatore is your pack member?”

“Yes, I turned him when he tried to take advantage of me in his office. Alex, I know what I am, and I’m aware of the catastrophe it could bring. All my life I have endured loss, and seen the cruelty of others. Death does not frighten me, but I’ll make sure I drag my enemies into its embrace with me.” She replied, her gaze turning back outside the window.

My blood boiled, realizing what that pervert had done to Elsa. Life’s harsh hand turned her into an adult too quickly. But I was sure Salvatore got what he deserved.

“Then you need to be ready Elsa, because my sister is coming for you.” I said, staring at her.

She got up and walked to the table beside my bed.

“I wanted to kill your sister for killing my friend, but after you told me she was your sister, I really didn’t want to do that again. I have experienced the loss of a dear one, the last thing I would want is for you to go through that.” She said, holding a bitter gaze as she held the table's edge.

“You must be very hungry, I’ll get you something to eat” She replied after a while, moving towards the door.

“And if she tries to attack you?” I asked, my words following as she opened the door.

All that remained was the soft thud of the door closing.

ALEX POV:We had already reached the nearest pillar where we concealed ourselves. Elsa stood quite close to me, her chest threatened to pierce mine with its softness. Our eyes met in what felt like a moment. I couldn't hear the voices anymore. All I could see was the beauty so close to me. Her lukewarm breath touched my neck, making my insides churn with excitement. Elsa had a smoothly sculpted chin; I noticed it more now, and she appeared more mature than before. “Alex?”“Alex?”Suddenly, the sound of shattering glass and loud laughter sent me back. “What was that?” I asked scratching my head.“Are you okay Alex? You seemed quite distracted.” The worry on her face made me feel embarrassed. She genuinely wanted to be certain I was okay.“Of course I’m okay. What we have to care about right now is where those noises are coming from.”“You are right,” she said, smiling and turning the other way. Okay, now I hate myself, I thought, as I saw her smile. Well, she understood now.“They

ELSA’S POVRodriguez looked flustered. The expression on his face revealed his embarrassment. His lips parted while making a statement but the words stuck on his tongue.“Anyways, be more careful with your lucid thoughts next time.”His hand met his hair as he scratched while looking elsewhere.“But what is this? You can hear my thoughts now?”“Yes, whenever I choose to. I can communicate telepathically also. The pack rules bind you and you will suffer if you violate them.”I turned to leave, and I had already taken a few steps when I noticed a looming shadow that stood above me. I turned back already knowing who followed me.“Elsa.”“Alex, you always pull up at the most unexpected time.”His lips curled in an elated smile as he got closer, taking me in for a warm embrace. It was the same feeling I felt every time I was with him, each time I wrapped my arms around him, there was this feeling in my heart, like it shouldn't end. But it always did. Incidentally, after thinking about thi

“You finally figured it out. It must have been a hard puzzle to solve.” Ha answered, his sarcasm obvious in his reply.“I told you to watch your back, no one humiliates me that way.” He got up from where he was, forming another fight stance.“So what is this, revenge?” I asked, stepping closer. Rodriguez was no match for me, but I liked his resilience; he wasn’t one to give up easily.“How about a deal Rodriguez?”He raised the corner of his eye. He stared at me for a while. After what felt like decades he responded“What kind of deal?”“It’s simple, if I lose this fight I’ll do whatever you say.”“No. That won’t be necessary, I intend on killing you here.” He replied, waving my words away.“Yes, you could end my life if you want.”“And what’s in it for you?” he shifted his leg, adjusting his stance to look stern.“You’ll work for me.” “Girl, you have some serious guts. You'll meet the gods today.”“Are you afraid to accept?”“Hahaha, you know what? I accept your request. This just

“Isn’t that the level four student who was angry when you turned him down?” It was Oliver who spoke and he just revealed some interesting information while looking at Isabella.“I feel sorry for him, imagine getting turned down by Isabella,” Brad said, laughing. Richard bumped his shoulders saying“Oh come on, stop messing around, you know how much of a jerk Athelstan was to Isabella.” “What did he do Isabella?” I asked. I didn't want to look too interested in the topic, so I wandered carefreely.Isabella’s face contorted in an unsettling way as she recalled the story. “Athelstan approached me in the first week of school, he professed love to me stating it was love at first sight, he said he could feel our connection… that I was his mate.”Everyone fell silent as Isabella narrated her ordeal with Athelstan.“I didn’t want to sound rude, so I just told him that I wasn’t ready for that, I also emphasized that I was a fresher. Athelstan didn't take this lightly, he felt his ego was b

“What the hell, that was so gruesome.”“She would have just targeted the eyes.”“I hate to be that beast.”“I think it was Oliver that killed the beast.”The students had a lot of opinions about the fight, especially the ghastly death of the monster. Many were surprised by the unorthodox method I chose, to kill the monster. But I didn’t really care about that, I was just glad it was over.“That was a good one… wouldn’t you agree with me, class?”It seemed mica had a few things to say as she got up to her feet.“Agree with you? We almost died Ser, this was definitely beyond a Ravage tier monster.”“Yes. It most certainly was. For those of you looking to work for the guilds and become adventurers, do you think you’ll decide the tier of the monster you’ll encounter while in there? Werewolves have only covered fifteen percent of the Elshire forest, with so many mysterious and unknown creatures yet to be discovered.”He paused, his gaze turned to me suddenly, it was as though he was tryin

“Oliver, it's right behind you!” I screamed out, to Oliver. He jumped up avoiding the strike to the leg delivered by the giant spider.Just minutes ago we had discussed our strengths to devise ways to end it quickly. Oliver and Benjamin were placed as our offensives considering they were stronger.“I want to be on the offensive too.” I said out loud, deciding not to be quiet.“What? You wanna get yourself killed?” Benjamin replied, his eyes seemed to be weighing me. “Besides, we will really need you guys to back us up on the defensive.” He added.“Thelma, be on the look out for the weak spot, you might notice while we are attacking.” Oliver said, releasing what looked like a trident. It wasn’t a lycan weapon but I could tell it was lethal. The spider had already revealed itself fully now. It was tall, reaching half the height of the colosseum. “Woahh!” Mica exclaimed, dodging a web that came from its mouth. It roared in anger, going straight for her again. Oliver rushed in with his
