My attitude completely enraged Blake.

He suddenly shifted into his wolf form and charged at me, striking me with his massive paw. I flew through the air and crashed into the iron fence around the yard.

Half a month ago, during a rogue wolf attack, I'd been injured while saving Blake. My wolf had gone into healing dormancy, leaving me without any accelerated healing abilities. The sharp pain made me break out in cold sweat instantly, and I couldn't stand up for a moment.

"Stop pretending! Get up now!" Blake snapped impatiently from behind me.

Ivy rushed over with fake concern:

"Aria, are you okay? I saw Blake just give you a little push..."

"Shut up!" I gritted my teeth and cut her off, forcing myself to stand.

Seeing my harsh attitude toward Ivy, Blake's eyes turned ice cold:

"Of course you're fine. Where's that healing stone I told you to bring? Ivy's morning sickness is severe. A high-grade healing stone can ease her suffering. Hand it over immediately."

"No." I refused without hesitation. One high-grade healing stone contained enough energy to save three dying werewolf warriors, but Blake wanted to waste such a precious resource on an Omega's morning sickness symptoms.

"That's an order!" Blake's face darkened terrifyingly. "Aria, do you think you have a choice?"

I clenched my fists and stared directly into his eyes:

"I said no. What are you going to do about it?"

A cold flash appeared in Blake's eyes. He strode forward and roughly grabbed my arm, dragging me toward the dark basement.

"Bang!"

The door slammed shut heavily.

"Stay in there and think about your problems! You're not coming out until you hand over that high-grade healing stone!"

"Blake, you've lost your mind!"

I pounded on the door with all my strength, screaming myself hoarse shouting "Let me out!" But I was met with only dead silence.

My palms were already red and swollen from hitting the door. Finally, I slumped powerlessly to the floor, leaning against the cold door.

Through the door, their conversation came clearly.

Ivy spoke in soft, gentle tones:

"Blake, isn't this too harsh on Aria? If she doesn't want to give it, then don't force her. I'll be fine without the high-grade healing stone."

Blake sighed:

"Ivy, she's been spoiled rotten by her Alpha father. I need to fix her spoiled princess attitude. If she's going to be my mate, she must put Bloodclaw Pack first. You're not only a pack member, you're carrying my child. If she won't even take care of you, she definitely won't take care of our children properly. How can she become a qualified mate?"

"Most Bloodclaw Pack members are healers. Every member is gentle and docile. We've always valued harmony above all else, but her temperament is too reckless... My mother has never really liked her."

Ivy asked with confusion:

"Blake, then why did you choose her as your mate?"

Outside suddenly went quiet.

I held my breath, staying perfectly still against the door.

Yes, if I was so terrible in his eyes, why put up with me?

The silence stretched on for a long time. Ivy carefully prompted: "Blake?"

Blake's calm voice cut into my heart like a knife:

"Her father is the most powerful Alpha in the southern territories. He's helped our pack's affairs tremendously over the years..."
