THE TRUTH UNTOLD (SEVENTY EIGHT)

Across the dark hospital garden, they continued to run without stopping and trying to keep their balance in the snow which now seemed to be difficult for them. Several times Harper nearly tripped if Alex didn't hold her hand tightly, then they both jumped over the half-foot-tall bushes in the garden behind the hospital that separated it from the sidewalk that connected the street to another block.

"Are they still after us?"

Harper panted repeatedly. Her lungs felt like they were going to explode, her legs would probably protest if they had a mouth to speak because her legs were sore right now after being used to running from the fifth floor of the hospital building.

"I don’t think so. Come on. Can you still walk?”

Harper nodded weakly and started limping next to Alex. They had to pick up their car which was parked in a bar three blocks from where they were currently walking.
