AT THE HOSPITALMy cloth had been changed I wondered how. It had been about at least thirty minutes since I regained consciousness but nobody had come around.I thought nurses were supposed to have round, well don't know how that works.I kept laying there listening to the footsteps of people that passed by, for some reason the sound was very soothing and calming. How long have I been here? I wondered.I wondered if I should maybe call out, say something so that they could know I was awake.I just remained still on the bed my eyes not leaving the ceiling above me. I prayed earnestly that my child was safe.I had been so carefully with everything. What I ate, what I drank, where I went, what I did, the way I slept even what I said.So why? Why in the world was this happening? Where the hell were this doctors? I had had enough. I decided to go to them if they would not come to me. I felt a bit of pain when I moved but after a while the pain settled.I looked at the needle rooted deeply
HEARING THE NEWS.“Good morning, sir” I heard one of my men say. He was one of the few I had set aside to keep a keen watch on Rose.I came down from the stairs slowly and majestically, like a leader and king that I am. He was here so early, we had no business other than matters concerning Rose, what could have happened that he needed to tell me? San Francisco was about three hours ahead of us, so she should be in school now.I was a bit bothered that I couldn't show though as the head of the lycans I needed to show my people strength and courage notwithstanding. He bowed when I had finally gotten down from the stairs.“What is it?” I asked him, motioning him to raise his head and speak as I waited impatiently for his answer. He raised his head but still kept his eyes to the ground.“It's about your mate sir, she was rushed to the hospital.” I heard him say.I winced at his words, narrowing my eyes, surely I must have heard wrong. From the last report I had heard of her, and all the
PARENT'S VISIT.“You did what? You called my parents? Why did you do that? It really wasn't necessary” I said. What was I going to tell mom? I wasn't ready to explain anything to them but now I had no option thanks to this not so professional, professional doctors. The young female doctor poked her head out from behind the elderly doctors“It is the hospital's policy, we had to inform a family member, those teachers that came with you when you were transferred weren't exactly family” the young female doctor said.“Wait, transferred? What do you mean by transferred? Who was transferred?” I was really confused. The doctors all looked at the young female one, giving her a disapproving look.“What do you mean by transferred?” I asked again. I was going to settle for no answer.“Well you were at first taken to the local hospital close to your school, Graceland hospital. But you were transferred here some minutes later.” She said as she snuck back behind the Doctors.“Why? Who asked that I
ROMAN'S POV. “We have them down in the basement Roman, I know you would still definitely disregard this but go easy on them” I heard Caspian say as he entered my chamber. This chamber was where I spent my time alone, reflecting. The room was blue, every single thing in it to,the colour was calming. And it helped me concentrate. It was also sound proof, not that any one dared disturb me with their noise or maybe eavesdrop, they couldn't. Well, unless they were tired of living. The roof of the chamber was made of glass. It was see through only from the inside though. Someone standing above it couldn't see a thing. This chamber was like my hiding place. I could stay here for days without even coming out for once. There are moments when I just want to be alone, I could stay here for weeks. It had everything a normal house would have, it even had a pool, definitely not your average room. Only people close to me were allowed entrance in here. Other than that maybe the cleaner
ROMAN'S POV. “I'm sure you know its you” I said pointing at her. And then she stepped out of the line. “I'm sorry, sir. Im sorry” she said repeatedly falling on her face. “Do you know what you did?” I asked the trembling maid before me. “No sir,” she said, shaking her head. “Are you mixed?” I asked. “Yes sir I am. Half wolf, half vampire” she said. “I hate the smell of your kind” I said looking at her in utmost disgrace. Not only did I hate the smell of her kind, I hate them in all totality. I looked around the room … “Who hired her?” I asked. They all mumbled looking at each other in confusion. “Who hired you? Who brought you here?” I asked her. “It was me” I heard an elderly voice say this behind me. It was madam Glere, one of the oldest workers here. She practically raised me. I turned growling and muttering some words. Shooting my gaze back at the maid. “Do something about your stink. I would not tell you this again” I said and conti
DISCHARGE DAY. I sat on my hospital bed packing a few of my properties that I had with me. The little clothes and other things mom and Jane had brought from home for me. I and Jane sat folding my clothes, while my mom was doing whatever she was at the hospital kitchen. She was probably clearing the flask before bringing it for packing. My dad was downstairs helping out with the processes for my discharge. How mom managed to convince me to stay in this hospital for over three weeks is still a wonder to me. Mom, dad and even the doctors worked hand in hand to discourage me from leaving and going back to work Finally I was being discharged today, mom insisted but no way I was going to stay cooped up here for another day. The only reason I agreed to tolerate staying here was because I still felt guilty about not telling mom about everything that had been happening. Well, truly the stay in this hospital was not as horrible as I thought it would be and how I made I mom feel I th
KATHERINE'S POV. “Oh my God, Jane exclaimed I had goosebumps all over my body as I heard Jane exclaim. I prayed earnestly that it wasn't what I was thinking. I prayed really earnestly. I heard mom gasp and then following her gaze, I knew it was definitely what I dreaded. My blood turned cold as I looked at the formerly white bedspread currently stained widely with my blood. My clothe too was stained. My pregnancy was already around four months by now, this should not be happening. The doctors said I should not worry that it wouldn't happen again. “Honey, are you okay?” My mom asked and rushed to my side. I stood frozen still as my dad ran out to call the doctors. “Mom,” I said. That was the only thing I could say. No thoughts could form in my head. I was really scared and my mom could see it too. “Baby, baby, look at me, calm down” she said, holding my head steady to face her. “Mom, not again” I said, shaking my head. “My baby,” I cried while holding my stomach
TRUE FORM. It has been a week since the bleeding reoccurred for the second time. But here I was still stubbornly in San Francisco. Mom, dad and even Jane all tried their possible best to convince me to go back to New York but I wouldn't listen. I don't need anybody to survive, I could do this on my own, like every trial I have triumphed this one would pass too, this was the lie I kept telling myself. Who was I kidding? I needed someone to be with me, I needed help but it does not have to come from or be in New York. Mom was really mad that I wasn't taking this seriously, she said she would talk to me or come search for me until I decide to go back to New York. It pained me to see her push me away even though we both knew that was the last thing she wanted to do. I wasn't going to bulge neither was she. At first I thought well, it's mom after some days she would forget about all of these and get over it and we would return to the way we were but not this time was the reply I recei
