The footsteps stopped.

For several seconds, Laboratory Seven was completely silent.

Celeste stood beneath the faint red glow of the emergency lights, her heart beating faster than she wanted to admit.

The figure remained in the doorway.

She couldn't see the person's face.

"Who are you?"

No answer.

Celeste slowly reached toward the emergency panel beside her.

Before her fingers touched it, the figure spoke.

"Don't."

The voice was distorted, but there was something familiar about it.
