Scott, Tom, and Katie were shocked when they saw the badge. It was Tom's badge which he had always kept in his pocket. And the picture on the badge was the same as the mural plastered in Scott's study room.
Sheriff Webb's eyes locked on Scott. The middle-aged man looked at him intently. Then, he asked again, “Mr. Hanson, do you recognize this badge?”
"Oh sorry, Sheriff. Y-yes of course I recognize the badge. That badge belongs to Tom and somehow it's in your hands because Tom lost his badge a while ago,” Scott stammered.
"Sir, are you sure about your explanation?" asked Sheriff Webb disgruntled.
Suddenly, Katie remembered that she had to check the food she made. Then she said goodbye to Sheriff Webb.
“Umm Sheriff, I'm sorry. I have to go back inside and check my cooking.” Then Katie sprinted into the house and left her two friends behind.
