KILLIAN POV

I held her tight against my chest, listening to the soft rhythm of her breathing. She was fast asleep.

I can’t believe she had given herself to me completely. “God, baby, I love you.” My own words echoed in my head, a confession I hadn't planned on letting slip. But looking down at her peaceful face, I didn't regret it. For the first time in my life, the constant static in my brain was gone. I felt anchored.

KILLIAN POV I held her tight against my chest, listening to the soft rhythm of her breathing. She was fast asleep.I can’t believe she had given herself to me completely. “God, baby, I love you.” My own words echoed in my head, a confession I hadn't planned on letting slip. But looking down at her peaceful face, I didn't regret it. For the first time in my life, the constant static in my brain was gone. I felt anchored. Then, the vibration of my phone on the nightstand pulled me out of my haze.I carefully slid my arm out from under Hazel’s head. She stirred slightly, mumbling something in her sleep before rolling onto her side. I pulled the blanket over her shoulders, grabbed the phone, and stepped out onto the balcony.I swiped to answer and brought the phone to my ear, my jaw clenching hard. "What do you want?""Is that how you greet your father, Killian? I see you’re still playing hero in Seattle.""Cut the crap," I growled as I gripped the balcony railing. "What the fuck do you

HAZEL POVThe weight of his body pressing me into the mattress felt entirely different. The robe had fallen open, leaving me entirely open to him.Killian pulled back, his chest heaving. I could feel the sheer size of him beneath me.“Hazel,” he growled softly. “God, look at you. You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”Killian pulled back a bit and pulled his shirt off, and I took that chance to remove the robe completely.“Fuck.” He bent down and sucked on a nipple while he fumbled with the other. I gasped and grabbed his head, pulling him closer.“Killian…” I breathed out. “That feels so good.”He trailed wet, hot kisses up my neck, my chest, anywhere his mouth could latch on, while his hands fumbled with my breasts.“Killian.” I pushed myself forward to meet his shallow thrust. “Don’t stop,” I breathed out.Killian stood up abruptly and pulled his pants and boxers down. My breath hitched as his dick bobbed. God, he’s huge.“Open your legs for me,” he commanded.

HAZEL POV When he finally pulled away from the kiss, I was breathless. Killian didn't release his hold on my waist. He looked down at me, his eyes searching my face before he reached down and scooped up my bag from the floor."Come on," he muttered. "You're too exhausted to go back to your parent’s house. My hotel is two blocks away. You're going to shower and sleep."I didn't argue. I didn't have the energy to fight him, and truth be told, I didn't want to leave his side.*********The hotel suite was quiet and dimly lit when we walked in. Killian dropped my bag on a chair and pointed toward the bathroom."There's a clean robe in there," he said. "Go take a hot shower. I'll order some food."I took his advice. The steaming water felt incredible against my aching muscles. When I stepped out twenty minutes later, wrapped securely in white towel robe, the room was completely silent. A tray of food sat untouched on the table. Killian was standing by the window, His back was to me, his

HAZEL POVTwenty-four hours. That was how long we had been trapped in the suffocating walls of the ICU lounge. My eyes burned from exhaustion. My clothes felt like sandpaper against my skin. But my dad was stable. The surgery had been a success, and the doctor said his vitals were finally holding steady."Hazel, sweetheart," my mum’s voice broke the silence. She reached over, her hand cold and trembling as she squeezed my knee. "Look at you. You're pale as a sheet. You need to go home and get some proper rest.""I'm fine, Mum," I lied, my voice hoarse. "I'm not leaving you here alone.""You aren't leaving me alone. Your dad is sleeping, and the nurses are right outside," she insisted, giving me a small, tired smile. "Please. Go back to our house. Take a hot shower, eat a real meal, and sleep in your own bed for a few hours. I need you strong for tomorrow, okay?"I looked through the glass window at my dad's peaceful, bandaged form, then back at my mum's pleading eyes. I reluctantly no

KILLIAN POVI didn’t leave the hospital grounds.Hazel thought she could throw me out, but she forgot who the fuck she was talking to. I wasn’t going anywhere. I stood under the concrete of the hospital’s side exit, watching the rain hit the pavement, a cigarette burning down between my fingers. My eyes were glued to the glass doors, waiting for any sign of her running out in tears. If her father died, I needed to be the one to catch her.A loud chirp of a police siren broke my focus. Two police cars pulled up to the emergency entrance. Two detectives in trench coats stepped out, shaking off the rain. One of them held a clear plastic evidence bag with a piece of metal inside.I dropped the cigarette, crushed it with the heel of my boot, and marched toward them."Detectives," I called out. The older detective stopped, his hand instinctively dropping toward his belt. "Can I help you, kid? This is a restricted police entrance.""You're here for the Frensby accident on Route 5," I stated,

HAZEL POVThe smell of medicine hit me the moment we stepped off the elevator onto the ICU floor. My heart hammered violently against my ribs. Killian kept his hand firmly on the small of my back, his large, warm palm steadying me as he guided me through the bright white hallways."Hazel!"I snapped my head up and saw my mother standing outside Room 412. Her eyes were bloodshot, her clothes wrinkled from hours of waiting. The moment she saw me, she burst into fresh tears and rushed forward, throwing her arms around me."Oh, thank God you're here," she sobbed into my shoulder, holding me so tight I could barely breathe. "It's so bad, Hazel. The doctors said his vitals are dropping..."Suddenly, my mother's body went completely rigid in my arms. She pulled back slowly, her tearful gaze shifting over my shoulder to the towering figure standing right behind me. The relief on her face instantly vanished, replaced by a look of sheer horror and rage."You," she whispered, her voice tremblin
