Chapter Twenty-Five

Accustomed to mind pain.

Hong and I freeze in our tracks looking at the angry five lycans baring their teeth to us. Lance’s eyes turn from their hypnotic brown-orange to the hot molten lava red that burn into my head. Axel, Tucker and Mav are just as angry, as they continue to growl at us. I look to Blake who has crossed her arms in front of her chest, dropped her hip and tapping a foot against the ground.

“I told you to stay here!” She scolds me. I didn’t realise I was a child that needed to report my whereabouts.

“I skipped breakfast waiting and then decided to have lunch. I then needed to pop into town!” I was really taken aback by their attitudes and the anger radiating off them. They all had very strong lycan auras.

“Town is shut on a Sunday! Why did you leave?” Axel shouts at me with his hands clenched either side of his legs.

“It doesn’t matter!” I respond trying to brush it off.
