Chapter 13

Rachel's POV

The thudding of my own heart beat tuned out any noise that was happening around me. I stared towards Jean's direction and saw his wolf aiming right for me. His eyes were blood red. I noticed that for a big man, his wolf was just fairly average in size. His size gave me a tiny boost of confidence. I've sparred against bigger wolves in my pack.

His fur was a deep sandy color with the ends of the hair tipped in black, and they stood on the edge of his back as his rage grew from my resistance to go down without a fight.

"You need to move now!" Again, the unknown females voice pulsed in my head. Instead of questioning the voice, I obliged.

I swiftly rolled off my belly just as Jean's wolf landed where I once laid.

I yanked the rake to me, rolled to my feet, and jumped behind the tree.

I saw a blur of sandy fur pass right by me as I took shelter against the tree. I stepped on the end of the rake, braking it to form a pointy weapon.
