"King Alano?"

Alexa was surprised to see King Alano's whereabouts. She immediately let go of Reynold's embrace.

Reynold looked back. He stood up and saluted the king. "King, I'm sorry. I didn't heed your call," Reynold said, feeling guilty.

"What happened to you?" asked King Alano when he saw Alexa's body covered in blood.

"Erm, earlier I accidentally slipped while carrying a bucket of blood," Alexa answered quickly.

King Alano couldn't believe Alexa's answer. However, he couldn't read her mind. He turned to Reynold. "Why did you bring her to your room?" His face looked dissatisfied.

"I just want to help her, King." Reynold didn't dare look the king in the face.

King Alano managed to read Reynold's mind. His eyes suddenly turned yellow, a sign that he was angry. "Who's involved in a fucking act like this?"

Reynold and Alexa looked directly into the king's face. They both panicked, seeing the change in King Alano's eyes.
