What was supposed to be a single teen fiction book turned into a trilogy that followed our characters into adulthood.I'm so grateful that you've stuck with Jo and Jude to the end. I'm deeply sorry to those of you who've read this story along with me while I wrote it. At times, I subjected you to long waits for updates. I'm even more grateful that despite that, you kept coming back. The next step is getting this trilogy published in physical copies. I'm committing to doing it before 2027. Yes, that's a while, but it's a lot of editing, and I don't want to give a shorter timeline that I might not be able to honour.Of course, there's our beloved support characters. I'll write Cole and Nicole's story, but before that, I might write Isaac and Ben's sequel. I've been itching to write another BL, and that pair has a lot of potential for a chaotic sequel. ;) Who knows,
Three Years LaterThe door to my office opens without a knock. I look up and frown when Jude walks in. “Why are you back?”Two and a half years ago, we became the owners of the Blue Sharks Football Academy. Back then, the company was on the verge of receivership. If that happened, Coach Chandler’s vision for an organisation that supported kids from all backgrounds would be threatened. At that time, Jude had been working at the academy for about six months. I’d found a job with a local football club.Jude didn’t want to see the academy get into the hands of a management whose sole purpose was making profits, and that’s when he suggested buying it. After a lot of deliberation and planning, we did it.I quit my job to focus on the academy. So far, we’ve done a good job. The debt is manageable, our players are performing well, and we have attracted quite a few lucrative sponsorship deals for our teams.Jude left yesterday for an overnight trip with the youth football team. They have a gam
Jo’s POVThe clock on the wall ticks ominously towards midnight. A hauntingly familiar feeling hits me. I push it aside. I trust Jude. He won’t make any drastic decisions on his own. We agreed. Whatever happens, we’ll face it together. These reassuring thoughts don’t stop me from wearing a path on the floor while staring at the door as if he’ll appear through it if I stare hard enough.Once again, I check the last text he sent me. “I’ll be a bit late. Something else came up. Don’t worry, everything is fine.”He said everything is fine. It’s been twenty four hours since Claire’s threat and I haven’t been bombarded with notifications about a scandalous article. I also haven’t received any call from Claire making more malicious threats because I broke her rule and told him. That should mean Jude handled it.A small part of my brain thinks it could also be because she got her way. I ignore it—it has no idea what’s up. We are done letting the past tear us apart. If Claire wants to come at
Author’s Note: A snippet of Nicki and Cole’s story, which I’ll work on after this. The full story will include everything from when they were in high school. Enjoy!“What are you trying to say?” Nicki asked her fiance, who stood in front of her with a conflicted look on his face. He had asked her to step outside the banquet hall for a quick word. She had thought he wanted a breath of fresh air. She was wrong. He sighed. “I’m just saying…would it have been so hard to wear the dress my mother got you? It’s just a dress.”“Exactly,” Nicole replied. “It’s just a dress. Why are you making it a big deal?”“She had a sponsorship deal with the brand, Nicki.”Nicki crossed her arms over her chest. “Well, she should have talked to me about it. I’m not a mannequin that she can dress up however she likes.”He frowned. “How can you say that? It was not a bad dress. It was custom-made, just for you. She wanted you to look your best today. What’s wrong with that?”“You don’t think I look good?” she
