๋ก๊ทธ์ธGLORIA'S POV We donโt spend very long in the bath.As soon as Iโm fed and clean, Sinclair takes me to my nest and lays me out like his own personal feast, and he wastes no time in ravishing me.Iโve never been frightened of Sinclair. Not at his wildest or grouchiest, not even when heโs on the warpath against others, or assailing me with the full force of his magic. If anything, itโs been an incredible turn on to know that I can call such a powerful man my own, that Iโm the sole soft spot in his impenetrable armor. But when he makes love to me now, I feel afraid. Not for myself โ never that โ but for the feral energy I can sense swirling through his body. His wolf is in full control and heโs near rabid with desire โ ruthless in his affection. He isnโt gentle, nor would I ask him to be. I love his rough passion and savage intensity: the way he makes me feel as if Iโm the only woman in the world and heโll die if he doesnโt have me this instant; the way he drives into me with reckless ab
GLORIA โFour broken ribs.โ The doctor assesses grimly, โand with all the exercise youโve done since the initial brakes, they havenโt been able to set or heal. I have an injection I can give you to fuse the bones quickly, but itโs painful, and we still need to set them first.โโWhat about his other injuries?โ Henry inquires anxiously, seated on the other side of me.โIโll do a scan to assess the exact placement of his ribs, and I can extend it to the rest of his abdomen to rule out internal injuries. I donโt see anything else of concern.โ The doctor shares with much more optimism.โHeโs got a good size lump on the back of his head.โ I inform the physician, still running my hands through Damianโs hair.โThen you two will match.โ V interjects, reminding us all of the way I headbutted his chin in my attempts to reach Damian. โWhen youโre done with him, you ought to check her for a concussion.โโI hardly think thatโs necessary.โ I complain, reaching back to see if the area is tender, then
AUTHOR POV As soon as Damian left Luca and Dr Lucy alone, the human turned towards the door, determined to flee. Theyโd talked about the mating ceremony for the better part of an hour, but as soon as they finished making their plans, Dr Lucy made a break for it.Before her hand could touch the door knob however, Lucaโs voice stopped her in her tracks. โOh so youโre back to ignoring me, are you?โDr Lucy stiffened, turning back to the newly-minted Beta. โYou got my sympathy when your brother was dead, but now that we know Dominic is alive, I donโt see any reason to pretend.โ She answered with a shrug, trying to push away the memory of having the huge wolfโs arms around her. Of course, that was much easier said than done โ her mind was already carrying her back to that emotional night, and it was nearly impossible to forget the way her heart had raced when he touched her.Lucaโs tears gradually slowed as Dr Lucy held him, breathing in her delicate scent and letting her gentle touch tam
GLORIA'S POV When I wake Iโm in my nest, hooked up to about a dozen machines and wracking my brains for some explanation of how I got here. Of courseโฆ the moment my memory kicks in, I wish it hadnโt. My wolf howls in my head, but I shut out the tumultuous emotions threatening to consume me. It might not be healthy, but if thereโs one thing Iโm good at โ itโs repressing feelings.I clench my eyes shut. โItโs not real, itโs not real.โ I insist to the empty room, reflexively tracing the outline of my womb. โAre you alright, little one?โ I squeak, wondering if my pain is about to multiply by a million. The baby flutters and sends feelings of sleepy confusion through our bond, and the tightness in my heart eases a bit. Heโs okay. I tell my whining wolf, but we both know sheโs not just worried for the babyโs sake.Theyโre both okay. My wolf assures me, sounding surprisingly confident for all her nervous whimpering. I donโt care what anyone says. We would feel it if he was gone. I would fe
DAMIAN'S POV โWhere are you now?โ Gloria asks, her beautiful face looking up at me from my phone screen.โWeโre headed to the Storm Forest pack, but weโve got quite a few hours on the road before we get there.โ I sigh, wishing we hadnโt needed Gabrielโs planes for the refugees, so that we might have flown these long distances.โStorm Forest.โ Gloria murmurs, her eyes lighting up, โDoes that mean youโre going to get to see some trees at last?โChuckling, I turn my phone towards the window, so she can see the rolling salt flats flying by in the distance. โNo, unfortunately they chose their name to honor the ancestral lands they left before coming to the hidden territories. Iโm afraid that the only trees here are the ones planted in Gabrielโs gardens.โGloriaโs face falls, and her lips form an adorable pout, just begging to be kissed. โI donโt know how they can stand it.โโMy poor little forest wolf.โ I purr in sympathy, โour dream forest isnโt enough, is it?โShe shakes her head. โItโs
GLORIA'S POV After shopping with Lena and napping away the afternoon with the pups in the nursery, I find my way to Edwardโs rooms. The guards told me he just returned from the refugee camp, but when he opens the door for me heโs all smiles. I give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and he welcomes me in. โYou wouldnโt happen to be in the mood for an afternoon snack, would you?โ He inquires knowingly. โBecause personally Iโm starving.โIโm fairly certain this is a plot to make sure Iโm feeding myself well, but my stomach growls loudly as I find a seat on the couch. Still, I try to sound demure as I shrug, โI could eat.โEdward laughs before calling down to the kitchens and ordering a small feast. As we eat he tells me all about his day at the refugee camp and I, in turn, share my frustration with my sudden celebrity and Lenaโs news about Roger. He can only shake his head. โThat boy has made some bad choices in his life, but Iโve been very proud of him these last few months. I never t
GLORIA'S POV I walked majestically on the red carpet with confidence even though my heart can't stop thumping. Going to introduce myself as his Luna amongst humans and wolves doesn't seem to be an easy task. But what can I do? I chosed this path for myself by not aborting the baby when he asks
GLORIAโS POV I shopped to my heartโs content. I bought a lot of things for the baby. I donโt know when Gabriel and Dorcas left but I was sure that they must have left immediately we met. Luca came to help me with the bags I was carrying, I canโt help but say I really enjoyed this shopping as I
DAMIAN POV "Thank you for honoring our invitation by joining us in our celebration today, we wish you journey mercies" I said finally and bowed to the crowd when its time for me to give a speech. The day has been a very long and eventful one as I spent half of it giving speech and shaking people
GLORIA'S POV OMG, this Damian Moon or whatever his name is, I can't believe he had a celebrity make-up artist to come style me just because I'm a Luna. But nevertheless, he has alredy make it clear that everythign he's doing is for the baby and not me. Sooner, the servants brought the dresses I ha
