Daring Rescue- Book Three- Kingdom Chapter Two

On the day of the planned rescue, I woke feeling nervous. How I pray, nothing goes wrong. I showered and dressed and went downstairs to breakfast. Most everyone was already up and eating except my mother.

“Where’s mom?” I asked as Amiya set a plate down in front of me.

“She is on a call with Joanita.” My dad said as he took a bite of his breakfast.

“You don’t think she suspects anything?” I asked frowning and setting my cup down after taking a sip of my coffee.

“No, it didn’t seem that way, and your mother is playing it cool.”

Xipher asked, “Are you ready for tonight?” I looked up at him, and I could tell he sensed my nervousness. “We will do another practice training if it will help ease your mind.”

I nodded, “I would feel better about it.”

“Feel better about what?” My mother asked entering the room and sitting down.

Xipher smiled, “The young one is feeling nervous about tonight.” He answered my mother.

She looked over at me, “It won't interfere with the plan will it?” She looked awa
