Cynthia noticed the change in my expression almost immediately. She reached out and held my hands, her grip warm and steady.

“What happened again?” she asked softly.

I quickly shoved my phone back into my bag, not ready to say everything out loud. “The lecturer sent me a message,” I said after a pause. “He said I should meet up with Kael after class.”

The moment the name left my mouth, Cynthia froze.

She slowly released my hands and stared at me like she had just heard a death sentence.

“Well,

I knocked on Cynthia’s door several times, but no one answered.“Cynthia?” I called softly, hoping maybe she was just inside and hadn’t heard me.Still nothing.I frowned slightly and reached for the door handle. When I twisted the knob, the door slowly opened. She wasn’t inside. The room was quiet and empty. For a moment I just stood there, looking around in confusion.Where could she have gone?Usually she was always around this time, either studying, lying on her bed with her phone, or complaining about something that happened during the day.But now the room felt strangely silent.I stepped inside slowly.“Maybe she went to get food,” I muttered to myself.Still, something about the empty room made me curious. My eyes wandered around, noticing little things scattered across the desk and bed.I walked around the room slowly. At first, I told myself I was just looking around casually. But deep down I knew I was searching for something… even though I had no idea what exactly I was lo

He suddenly chuckled under his breath and gently patted my head.“Is that why you look so moody?” he asked.I shook my head slowly, but the movement was confusing even to me. It wasn’t a clear yes, and it wasn’t exactly a no either. My thoughts were tangled, and I didn’t even know what expression my face was making anymore.“Your sister needs to be arrested,” he continued casually. “Should I do it?”For a moment, I froze.Arrested? The word sounded so serious, so extreme, that I didn’t know how to respond. I looked down at my hands resting on my lap and sighed quietly.I didn’t know anymore.Everything that had happened today already felt like too much.“As long as we’re not seeing each other anymore, there’s no need,” I murmured after a short pause. “She’s totally out of my life now.”I lifted my shoulders slightly, trying to act like it didn’t matter, even though somewhere deep inside me there was still pain. But I refused to let that show.“I don’t think it’s necessary,” I added so

I slid into the front seat of the car and the faint scent of his cologne immediately surrounded me. When I lifted my eyes to him, I almost forgot everything that had happened earlier.Karen looked… unbelievably handsome today. He was dressed in a black open shirt that revealed a hint of his chest, paired with dark pants that fit him perfectly. His hair was slightly messy, like he had been running his fingers through it, and the sharp line of his jaw made him look even more breathtaking under the soft light coming through the windshield. For a moment, my heart skipped.“Hey,” I said softly. He turned to look at me, his dark eyes studying my face carefully, as if he was trying to read every emotion written across it.“How are you?” he asked gently.I leaned back in the front seat, letting out a tired breath. Saying I’m fine would have been the easiest answer, but I didn’t have the energy to pretend.“Worst,” I admitted quietly. “Terrible. Confused. Perplexed… and tired.”The words left

In my life, I had met many kinds of people. Some were kind and genuine, while others were cruel and selfish. But never—never—had I met someone as strange and dangerous as my own sister.Rebecca had always been difficult, but today she sounded completely out of her mind.It wasn’t just the things she said. It was the confidence behind them. The strange belief that everything she wanted somehow belonged to her.I leaned back slowly on the chair, staring at her as her words repeated in my head.Wait…Was she actually serious?A small, disbelieving laugh almost escaped me.“Are you mad, Rebecca?” I asked, because that was honestly the only explanation that made sense to me.She didn’t look offended.Instead, her face became serious, almost defensive.“No, I’m not crazy,” she said firmly. “I’m just fighting for what belongs to me.”My eyes widened in shock. She wasn’t joking. She actually meant every word she said. For a moment I could only stare at her, trying to understand how someone co

My hands were trembling as I held the corner of the table, trying so hard to keep my anger under control. Seeing someone who betrayed you was painful enough, but it was even worse when that person was your own blood sister. She sat across from me, looking just as innocent as she always had. That same soft face. Those same gentle eyes. Anyone who saw her would think she was harmless. But I knew better. That innocent face of hers felt like the mask of a devil now.“I know you want to slap me right now,” she said softly, her voice calm and sweet. “But please… at least listen to what I have to say.”Her tone irritated me immediately. How had I been so blind all these years? Looking at her now, everything about her seemed fake. The way she spoke, the way she looked at me, the way she pretended to be fragile. It was all too easy to see through now.I crossed my arms tightly over my chest, forcing myself to stay still.“Can you just say why you called me here?” I snapped, my voice sharp. “I

I paid the taxi driver and stepped out of the car. For a moment, I stood there looking at the familiar street before walking toward the small store that stood at the front of the property. From the outside, it looked like an ordinary store. Anyone passing by would never suspect what was hidden behind it.I pushed the door open, and the small bell above it rang with a soft jingle.“Hey, how may I help you?” a familiar voice called from behind the counter. The moment I heard that voice, my chest tightened slightly.Agnes.She stood up from behind the counter and looked in my direction. The moment her eyes landed on me, they widened in shock. For a second, she simply stared at me as if she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Then suddenly, she rushed toward me.“Oh my lovely child!” she exclaimed as she wrapped her arms tightly around me.Her hug was warm and familiar, the same comforting embrace I remembered from when I was younger.“How are you?” she asked quickly, holding my shoulde

Sierra immediately rushed forward, stepping in front of me as she turned sharply toward the girl.“What the flipping fuck is wrong with you?” Sierra yelled, her voice sharp with anger. The girl—who clearly looked like a brunette—only smiled at her, the kind of smile that was meant to provoke. It ma

“Yes,” Sierra said with a small shrug. “They bought it last year… I think.”I cursed quietly under my breath. That explained everything. The authority. The confidence. The way Kael spoke like he already owned the ground beneath my feet. Of course they did. The twins weren’t just dangerous—they were

The moment I saw them, my heart skipped violently. For a split second, the world seemed to tilt, and the dream I had at the bar came crashing back into my mind without warning. The heat rushed straight to my cheeks, burning with shame. Of all people—them. I hated myself for it. I hated my mind even

We finally arrived at the hotel, and I reached into my purse, pulling out the cash to pay the taxi driver. The engine went silent as I stepped out, the cool evening air brushing against my skin. I lifted my gaze, and for a moment, everything else faded. The building before me was massive—tall, eleg
