Henry’s POV

The morning light felt brighter than usual. Not warm. Not gentle. Just piercing light.

It streamed through the dining room window and fell directly on the stack of papers I’d left beside Aurora’s untouched breakfast.

The ink on my name almost seemed to glare at me.

Divorce.

No more talking about it. No more threats. No more rehearsing how it would happen. Just… there. Finally.

It felt like I was finally dropping off a heap of load off my back.

I didn’t wait around to see if she’d notice it right away. The smell of the meal the new house help had prepared lingered in the air.

It was something buttery and sweet, the kind of breakfast Aurora never cooked for herself. The irony wasn’t lost on me.

I grabbed my keys and stepped outside, breathing in air that carried no trace of her perfume. For once, it felt clean.

The drive to the address Aaliyah had texted me yesterday, felt longer than it probably was. I didn’t rush, but I didn’t exactly take my time either. When I finally

  • He Divorced Me, I Marry A Bigger Billionaire!   Chapter 139

Henry’s POVAurora was gone.I stood there in the middle of her empty room, staring at the stripped walk-in closet, the bare drawers, the cold emptiness of the space that once smelled like her perfume and vanity creams. It was all gone.Something smelt wrong. Very wrong. The divorce wasn’t even finalized yet, so why the hell would she run now? Why disappear so suddenly, like a thief in the night? My gut twisted.I darted toward the drawer where I’d found those documents before. My hand yanked it open, my eyes sweeping frantically through. Empty. Nothing. I crouched down, pulled open the lower ones, shoved my hands around the inside as if something might magically appear but there was nothing. My throat tightened. “What the fuck is happening…”This wasn’t just Aurora being impulsive. This wasn’t just her taking her clothes and her jewelry and running away. My guts told me she was scrubbing away evidence, pulling strings I couldn’t see yet. My instincts screamed it.I pulled my phone f

Henry’s POVThe divorce papers felt heavier every minute, almost like lead sitting in my hand. I pushed them across the polished desk toward my lawyer, watching his eyes skim over every line with the kind of precision only years of habit could build. His office was quiet except for the faint hum of the air conditioner and the scratching of his pen as he made a note in the margin. It felt like deja vu, sitting here, submitting divorce papers. After a few long moments, he nodded, leaning back in his leather chair. “Everything seems to be in order. I’ll finalize it as soon as possible. You’ll get the confirmation within a week.”I nodded, though there wasn’t much satisfaction in it. My chest tightened as I slid a hand into my pocket, pulling out my phone.“Before you do that…” I unlocked the screen and opened the gallery. My thumb hovered for a second, then I turned the screen toward him. “Tell me what this is about.”He adjusted his glasses, leaning forward. The reflection of the do

Lisa’s POVMy heart dropped so hard I thought it would tear straight through my chest.Aaliyah’s voice shook as she clutched my arm, her whole body trembling. “Lisa… Elias is still in there.”For a second, I couldn’t even process her words. The roar of the fire was deafening, the smell of smoke already choking my lungs, and half of the building was crumbling before our eyes. But when I looked into her terrified face, I knew she wasn’t joking. My eyes darted back to the house. The fire was alive, eating everything in sight, climbing up walls, devouring wood and glass as if it had been waiting for this moment. Part of the roof gave way with a loud crack, sparks flying into the sky like angry stars.I grabbed Aaliyah by the shoulders, forcing her to look at me. “Listen to me. Snap out of it. If we just stand here, he’s gone. Do you understand? He’s gone. And you're too weak to go in there.”Her lips quivered, and tears rolled down her cheeks, cutting through the soot on her skin. “No…

Lisa’s POVMy car hummed beneath me but my mind wasn’t on the road, it was on Aaliyah, on the truth that I was about to drop in her lap like a bomb.I rehearsed it in my head for maybe the hundredth time.Okay, Lisa, just breathe. Keep it calm. Start easy.I cleared my throat even though no one was in the car with me.“Hey Aaliyah, so… funny thing, right? My uncle let it slip that Orrin, your charming new husband, actually came up with the plan to kill your parents, and then his father happily carried it out.”The words sounded disgusting and too cruel the moment they left my mouth. My stomach twisted.“God, no, no, that’s a terrible way to put it,” I muttered to myself, smacking the steering wheel in frustration. “What am I thinking? She’ll fall apart if I tell her like that.”I tried again, softening my tone.“Aaliyah, listen, I know this is hard, but… the truth is Orrin isn’t who you think he is. My uncle told me something… and I think you deserve to know, no matter how much it hu

Aaliyah’s POV Lisa’s words about divorce kept ringing in my ears. They wouldn’t stop, repeating over and over. It was like the pieces of a puzzle were finally falling into place, but the picture it formed was one I refused to see.My chest tightened. Was it really the truth?I shook my head hard, as if I could rattle the thought out of existence. “No…” The word slipped from my lips, a trembling whisper, as if that single sound could undo reality.“Your silence confirms it, Aaliyah. You’ve finally accepted the truth. Splendid. That’s the first step. Now… I’ll just go ahead and brief you.”My lips trembled and my body shook. But something inside me flared, a spark of anger, of defiance, of sheer desperation.I leaned forward as much as the rope allowed, my voice was raw but I forced it out.“No.”My throat burned as I spoke louder.“No. I don’t want to hear what you have to say. Whatever it is, I don’t want it from you. Not from you.”For a moment, there was nothing. The silence pres

Aaliyah’s POV The first thing that hit me the moment I opened my eyes was the suffocating, heavy smell of fuel. It filled my nose so quickly that for a second I thought I was drowning in it. My stomach turned and I tried to lift my hand to cover my face, but my body didn’t move.Something rough bit into my skin. Rope. A thick, coarse rope tied so tightly around my wrists and chest that I couldn’t even shift without it scraping raw. My body jerked, panic racing through me, but the chair beneath me barely budged. My eyes opened wider and clearer. The living room. I was in our living room. But it didn’t look like home anymore. Not with liquid glistening across the floor like a dark mirror, spilling toward the stairs and seeping under furniture. Not with that sharp scent in the air, stinging my throat. My heart stumbled inside my chest. Elias. He was upstairs. Still sleeping. Is he even still there?!I tried to scream his name, but my voice cracked. “Elias!” The sound was muffled, str
