Oliver's POV

"Hello Oliver.", She greeted, and now that I knew I would be working under her, calling her Rebecca would sound disrespectful to her.
.
"Hello Ma'am", I greeted her back.
.
"Now that Dad would have told you that you would be working under me. So, I would like to show you the pressure of the work which you will face if you finally decide to work with me for real.", She said professionally. "I had tasted the food which you had prepared. It was good. But the amount of time which you took was disappointing.", She added.

Oliver’s POV . “I’m sorry, Oliver. I shouldn’t have behaved like a jerk.” Tia’s boyfriend, Nate, apologized. “It’s fine.” I gave him a small smile. “By the way, how’re you? I remembered that Rebecca Ma’am had punched you so that you flew in the air like a weightless leaf.” “Excuse me?”, He asked in shock. “What are you talking about, and when did this thing happen?”, He asked again. I looked at Tia, who was also giving me the same look like her boyfriend. “Nothing like that happened, Oliver. Whatever you’re speaking is impossible. It seems like you dreamt of something like that.” I stared at the face of both Nate and Tia for a while. They looked serious
Rebecca’s POV.“Whatever happened today! That shouldn’t have happened.”, I said, recalling all the incidents.“I know, but we change what had happened because the damages have already. And I’m not sure, but Oliver will surely try to find out the reason behind it.”“Can you do something about it, Dad? Can we transfer him to another department? Or ask some other restaurant to hire him as an intern?”“Becca, don’t you think that incident will make him more suspicious and not to forget it is quite RUDE as well. You can’t treat him like SHIT for doing anything. If you have a problem with him, then I’m sorry to say this
One year later.Oliver's POV.I was walking hurriedly toward the office, holding the newspaper in my hand.God! Not again!I thought and read the bold headline of the newspapers again."Good Morning, Selena!" I greeted her finding her at the reception."Bad morning, Oliver. Sir is not at all in a good mood.", She said. Poor girl! It seemed like Mr. Cornell was too furious."I had kind of guessed that already by reading today's newspaper.", I responded and showed h
Oliver's POV.When I reached Manaus, I saw a man holding a board with my name in one hand and Rebecca's name on the other. A smile broke out on my lips, seeing our names together even though it was just for a while or even if it meant nothing in this way."Hi, I'm Oliver.", I said to the person in his mid-sixties and then pointed toward the name board he was holding."Oh, I'm Samuel.", he replied and forwarded his hand for hand's sake. "Will you mind holding this board for a while. My hand started aching because of it. Rebecca Ma'am will be coming anytime soon.", He requested."No issue." I looked toward him on which he looked at me innocently. I smiled and took the name board of Rebecca's name from him. Though the older man had said that she would be coming anything soon, she was nowhere to be found even after an hour."Maybe her flight is running late?" he guessed."Yeah! Maybe." I agreed with him. I started flipping the b
Oliver's POV."And I'm sure that one day you will completely be fine." I motivated her by saying something positive instead of showing her sympathy because I knew she didn't want to take that."I don't know. It is said that even after the wound heals, scars are left behind.", She said with a smile, but her smile was not reaching her eyes. By that time, Samuel was already back.He helped us with our luggage, and then we settled in the car to reach our NEW destination. While Rebecca was looking out of the window, I was looking at her. The moment she felt my eyes on her, I didn't waste my time looking in the other direction. When the car stopped at an old and shady society, I looked at it in shock. I meant this was not a five-star hotel or even a four-star hotel."Come out! We are staying here until we finish our work in this city.", Rebecca said, looking at my confused face. Well, Mr. Cornell didn't tell me about this part of the place. Not that I w
Oliver’s POV.“This elevator works properly, right?” Rebecca asked Samuel before entering the elevator.“Yes, Ma’am.”She released a deep sigh and entered inside. Since the elevator was too small, only we two and our luggage could get fit inside.“I will wait for a while until the elevator comes back.”, He said to which she nodded. At the same time, I couldn’t be happier with this fact. Just two of us were going to spend the next few minutes without any disturbance. Soon, the door of the elevator closed, and it started moving upward.“What was that?” I asked.“What?”“You looked like you wanted to run far away from the elevator if Samuel would have told you that this elevator doesn’t work properly.”“Ahh…that..”, Immediately, the elevator stopped with a jerk, making us lose our balance. We held the wall for the support, and
Oliver's POV . "What do you want to have for dinner?" I asked after coming out of the room. I was feeling too tired to even lift a hand, but then I couldn't stay hungry, right? "Don't take a pain to cook anything. I have ordered food for us online.", She said with a smile. "Now come here! We have to discuss our plan.", She added on which and sat beside her on the old couch. Neither did I ask anything about the incident that happened in the lift, nor did she give any explanation. Sensing that topic was related to her past, I couldn't gather the courage to talk about it because by doing this, I might open her old wound. She explained each and each part of her plan. At the same time, she w
Oliver’s POV.After dinner, we walked to our respective rooms to rest because tomorrow onward we have to join at our new workplace. Late at night, I stirred in my sleep and opened my half eyes to look to check where I was because my mind had forgotten for a while that I had moved to somewhere else.Immediately my eyes landed on a pair of two almond eyes. One was of golden color, and another was red.“Aa..” I tried to shout in fear, but my voice died in my throat when I heard ‘Grrrhhh.’I kept staring at those eyes. There was definitely an animal in my room, and definitely a big animal. I assumed by observing how those eyes were distinctly almond-shaped eyes that tend to be more closely set on th
