Alpha Nick POV I am walking to the training sessions with Jeremy and Thomas when Zack and Leo, two of our warriors approach us.“Good morning Alphas, Good morning Beta!” They greet us. “Morning lads!” I say. “Thank you for getting the girls back safely last night.” “Of course, Alpha.” They respond jointly. Willow POV Consciousness creeps into me and my body feels odd, as if it has been in a fight. Every muscle is aching yet when I try to pinpoint the pain, it disappears. It is a strange sensation. I awake to the feeling of my face being gently stroked and a warming scent surrounding me. I open my eyes to see Brett crouched down next to me. I take a minute to remember what happened and how I ended up on the sofa. I must have looked confused as Brett answers my internal question.“You had some kind of seizure and I placed you on the sofa!” He quietly tells me. “How are you feeling?” “Thirsty!” I smile whilst sitting up. 2 years later. Louis POV “Don’t go easy on me Louis!” Willow tells me through the mind-link. I’m training with Willow and Beta Thomas in our wolf forms. I shifted for the first time when I turned 12 like all werewolves, but our wolves start to become a bit more powerful from the age of 16 until they are fully linked with us at 18. Willow and Thomas have been great. Willow POV “Jeremy is running late as usual Mum! Lizzie and her folks have already left. He will just have to meet us there.” I pace up and down the hallway with balloons, a cake and a gift bag in my hand. I wanted to get to the restaurant early so I could set the table up, but Jeremy was adamant he would be here on time and he would get a lift with us. Mum walks down the stairs in a navy wrap dress, her diamond necklace Dad got her when Jeremy was born and silver high-heeled sandals. Dad is wearing a grey suit with a navy tie. They look so cute together.“Looking beautiful Mrs Johnson!” Dad gives mum a kiss. Dad adored Mum and even after 25 years together and 3 children they acted like loved up teenagers. Willow POV Before I have a chance to look over at our table. Jeremy had rushed over to the bar at an alarming speed. He pulls me behind him and stands in between Ash and myself. The two Alphas square up to each other and snarls leave their mouths. “Jeremy!” I shout through the mind link. “This is a human place, and everyone is looking.” Jeremy’s arm goes behind my back, and he pulls me in close to his back. The men that were sitting with Ash, all stand up and come over to the bar. In a counteractive move Thomas, Zack, Leo and even Louis come over and stand around me. They fully engulf me in a protective bubble. Totally unnecessary I think to myself. Zack POV I watch as Beta Thomas quickly follows Willow out of the restaurant. Without our Beta on site, I need to ensure our men are fully attentive to security detail. I put my full attention back onto the Alpha Family at the table. Alpha Nicholas, who is usually of a calm nature, is glaring at Alpha Jeremy.“That was a bit much son.”Louis scoffs.“What?” Jeremy sharply asks him. “He can’t seem to leave her alone!” He says flatly. “He is stationed to protect her Louis, by my order. Willow POV It took me 3 days to wake up after the rogue attack. On day 5 I wasn’t feeling as weak and my appetite was returning. I remained in the medical centre and Samantha stayed close as her father is Dr Gibson. She had been helping him out all summer and I must say she was doing a great job. She cleaned my wounds a couple of times a day and replaced the bandages. Mum and Dad constantly popped in and so did Louis. Jeremy hadn’t been in yet and neither had Lizzie which hurt, but no doubt he was keeping her busy. I put my lunch down on the bed tray and slowly stand up from off the bed. I felt so disgusting, I needed a hot shower but needed to see how long my legs could stand for. I push myself off the bed with a wobble and start to walk over to the ensuite shower room. Willow POV 1 year laterThe last year has been shit, and that is putting it lightly. The rogue attacks have been more frequent and every time we feel like we are getting somewhere, they change tactics. They are pestering the other packs in our area but not as much as us. Why? What did they want? I deferred university! My parents were disappointed, and Lizzie and Samantha begged for me to go with them, but I couldn’t. I can’t explain it, but I had a sense I needed to stay here. Thomas had been a god send. We have been looking into the rogues and I’ve been freeing him up for scout missions by doing the paper-based research. Louis had told me about the symbols on my wolf’s fur, but no one seemed to have experienced anything like this before. From the pictures Louis has drawn of the markings my research led me to think they belong to the old Celtic language. There had been a few comments and not wanting to make a big deal of it for now, I didn’t take part in pack runs or pack training.
