Chapter Fifty Five

Princes gave the phone back to Rose and started looking around. "How fa sis?" Rose asked.

"Am fine ooo. I called you for two things!" Ada said excitedly.

"Why are you so happy? Did something happen?" Rose asked.

"Something happened oo. In fact eh, I called you for two things! One is about work and the other is because I want to gossip. Do you know you are trending online now?" Ada said in one breathe.

"How am I trending?" Rose asked with confusion.

"You don't know? Anyway, let me tell you... I like your family outfit tho... You all look so good together." Ada said dreamily.

"What are you talking about. What family outfit sef?" Ross asked.

"Ha sis!!, don't tell me you still don't understand what I am talking about when I say you are trending kind online and I like the outfit your family is putting on. Shouldn't you understand me then?" Ada asked.

"Ooh, are you trying to say there is a picture of us circulating?" Rose asked.

"Yes!! That's exactly what I am saying. You need to go and check it out. You looked so beautiful in the picture they used. Just go to G****e and search your husband's name. It's just that they don't know your name yet." Ada said.

"These bloggers and reporters sef... They did not waste a minute at all. Just the first outing and I am already a celebrity." Rose said tiredly.

"Dad is back!!" Princess who had been quiet said when she saw Christopher walking towards them.

"I guess you have to go right?" Ada asked cause she heard what Princess said.

"No, you said you had two reasons for calls so what the second?" Rose asked.

"Well, it's just that I noticed something this morning when I got to work. It's was confusing and strange so I decided to let you know." Ada said.

"What's that?" Rose asked.

"I closed the gate myself last night but, this morning when I got here the padlock was open," Ada explained.

"Are you sure you locked it properly? Maybe you just removed the key and you thought you had locked it." Rose said.

"I am very sure sis. I have been locking this place for years and I always make sure that it's locked. You know I such has never happened before." Ada said.

"So, if you are so sure then, what happened? How come you met it opened?" Rose asked.

"I don't understand sis. I was scared but, when I opened fully and entered, everything was in place. It was exactly as l left it and nothing was out of place but, it was strange." Ada said.

"Since nothing was missing and everything was in place then, maybe it was a mistake. Just be careful next time." Rose said.

"That's not all, earlier in the day, a guy came in here and was asking questions about you," Ada said.

"What!?" Rose asked and Christopher who was sitting with Princess heard her shout. "What did he ask? Who did he talk to?"

"What's wrong?" Christopher whispered.

Rose just raised her finger at him and muttered, "one minute!"

"He was asking different questions and he even offered money to get information. He spoke to Uche. When he had gone, she rushed to me and explained what had happened. I didn't think much of it until Tessy from the other office called me and complained of the same thing." Ada explained.

"Jesus!! That means it's not a coincidence. Can they recognize that person who came to ask about me?" Rose asked.

"I asked the same thing and they said yes. I asked Uche to describe the man who spoke to her and when she did, I asked Tessy for the same thing and it's the same person. Their description is the same." Ada said.

"Okay, thank you. Please be careful. Call a meeting with all the workers on Monday. We'll have a conference call. I will get back to you tomorrow morning so that we can schedule a time." Rose said.

"Okay sis, please be careful. I was quite scared when they told me that's why I called you immediately. It doesn't spell good news at all especially now that you have just gone back to your husband. Do you think it's that his fiancee that is sending people after you?" Ada said her thoughts. Ever since she was told that someone had been going about asking for Rose, she had suspected that it had something to do with her marriage.

"Let's not assume just yet. Just tell everyone not to talk to any stranger asking about me and, tell them we'll have a conference call on Monday. Let them all come to you." Rose said.

"Ok, sis... Sha enjoy yourself oooh, say because of this you won't have fun with your family. Bye-bye!!" Ada said and hung up the call.

"What happened?" Christopher asked. He had been watching her and her expression looked worried so, he couldn't wait to know what had happened.

"I will tell you when we get home. I don't want to ruin this outing. Let's talk about it at home. Ok?" Rose said. "Where is the find you went to get?" She asked after noticing that the table was still empty.

"They are not ready yet. In a few minutes, it should be here but, about your call. Should I be worried?" Christopher said.

"No... It's nothing serious and I don't want Princess to get any idea about that call." Rose answered. Just before any of them could say anything, waiters walked in with different foods. The aroma alone could make anyone salivate. They brought in different food ranging from sauced meat, a big barbecued fish down to a bottle of juice and fruit wine. They brought in snacks and Fruits as well. "This is too much na, how do you expect us to finish all these things?" Ross asked when the table had been set and the servers had walked away.

"This is not my doing. The hotel arranged all these. I just wanted them to make a fish and a bottle of wine but they added all these things you see." Christopher said.

"Wow!! Can I eat the fish!! It looks so yummy!! Can I have it?" Princess asked while looking at everything that had been placed on the table.

"Sure. You can have whatever you want. I hope you enjoy it." Christopher said and took a plate. He cut a piece of fish, removed the bones, and gave it to Princess. He opened the wine and poured it into her glass. "What do you want?" He asked Rose who looked to be lost in thoughts.

"Uhm, I'll have the chicken. Just give me some of that." Rose answered.

Christopher took some chicken laps that had been fried in pepper, onion, and tomatoes. From the aroma alone, one would know that they prepared it carefully. "Here you go," he said as he placed the plate before her. He was sitting between Rose and Princess.

"Thank you," Rose answered as she poured some wine into her cup. "What about you? Are you not eating something?" Rose asked seeing that he didn't take anything for himself.

"I'll eat everything. I will eat what you are eating and what Princess is eating. Maybe it's because you two are eating it but, my mind is telling me to eat what the both of you are having." Christopher explained as he looked from one to the other. "Maybe I should just eat from your plates." He said and tasted the fish Princess was eating. When he finished chewing that, he took a piece of meat out of Rose's plate.

"Stop being greedy and pick what you want to eat joor!!" Rose said and laughed at him.

"Am I being greedy?" He asked Princess who was laughing at him.

"No, daddy. I think I also want to eat what mom is having and I don't want to stop eating this fish. It's so delicious and looking at mon's chicken, I feel like that tastes better thank my fish." Princess said.

"Can you see? It's sweeter when we eat together." Christopher said and finished the meat he took from Rose's plate. "This is so good. Do you want to have a taste?" He said and asked Princess who quickly nodded her head.

Christopher took another piece from Rose's plate and gave it to Princess. "What is it na, must you take from my plate?" Rose asked shaking her head at them.

"Yes oooh, it's sweeter when we take from your plate. It's like there is another flavor there." Christopher said. He was being serious and at the same time, he wanted to make Rose forget whatever she was thinking about. He was curious to know what was said to her on the call but, since she has said they would talk about it when they get home then, they will.

They continued to eat and banter till it was time to go home. After they finished eating, they just sat there, gisting and laughing. They even walked around again and left there when it was a few minutes to 5. The manager went as far as giving Princess a take-away pack. "Where are we going to now?" Rose asked when they entered the car.

"We are going to the cinema, let's watch a movie together," Christopher said.

"What movie are we watching?" Princess asked excitedly from the back.

"We'll make a choice when we get there," Christopher answered and ignited the car.
