Chapter Forty Three

While Christopher was walking out of the kitchen, he didn't notice the person who quickly hid behind a pillar. After he had walked away, the person walked out and looked around before walking as quietly as possible towards the kitchen. This person happen to see Rose who placed her hand on her heart with a bright smile on her face. Rose who was lost In her daydream also didn't notice the person who was peeping into the kitchen.

That person watched as Rose kept smiling to herself as she worked around the kitchen. If looks could kill then, Rose would have probably died with the way she was being watched. The person watching ran away when Rose was about to walk out of the kitchen. The person hissed and picked up her phone to make a call. After a few minutes of ringing, the call was connected from the other end. "What is it again?" Cindy who had been in a bad mood since the night before asked immediately she picked up the call.

"That's not how you talk to the only person who is willing to help you." Unknown said with displeasure.

"How are you helping me? You gave me useless information!" Cindy shouted over the phone.

"How was my information useless? If not for me would you have known that the man you want to marry is married?" Unknown asked.

"You don't even know what you are talking about. Do you know what happened last night!?" Cindy asked with irritation and anger.

"What happened? I know I gave you the only option that will work so, what happened again?" Unknown asked.

"In case you haven't heard, let me tell you, that bitch in that house did not only disgrace me but also managed to scam that old man of 7million naira!! Can you believe it?" Cindy said over the phone.

"Hmm, I didn't expect her to be so capable. She looks gentle. How did she manage to get money out of Mr. Allen?" Unknown who wanted to know everything asked.

"Stop asking me about stupid things and people. Why did you call?" Cindy asked.

"Well, you won't believe what happened this night!" Unknown said.

"Wait, hope you won't ask me for money again?" Cindy said.

"I will do this for free this time around but after tonight, we go back to our usual way. You pay for whatever info I give!." Unknown explained.

"Since you are not taking money from me, I want to assume this information is not that important. I don't even think I want to hear it." Cindy said with disinterest.

"You need to hear what I want to say before you decide it's not worth it. For the past six years that you have been trying to get Christopher into your bed, have you succeeded? No. The only thing you have managed to achieve is to kiss him which happened last night. Isn't that my doing?" Unknown said.

"Please, get to the point. I don't have all evening to listen to you brag. What do you have to say?" Cindy said getting impatient.

"Well, I just saw Christopher begging to be hugged. Can you imagine? He was pleading to be hugged. He even gave her a gift just to hug him." Unknown said.

"Is that all? Is that why you wasted my time this evening?" Cindy asked angrily.

"You don't understand it do you? You don't understand what is happening right?" Unknown asked.

"What's there to understand? He wants to hug her. Isn't it?" Cindy said with disinterest.

"That wouldn't have been a problem but, she is now taking over the house. She is changing things around the house. She is now acting like the boss and if you don't act fast, you won't have a chance again. You better act fast!!" Unknown urged.

"What do you expect me to do? What am I supposed to do that I haven't done? What do you think I need to do?" Cindy asked.

"If you want him then this is the right time for you to act. Do you think that by doing nothing you are going to have him?" Unknown asked.

"Fine. What do you suggest that I do?" Cindy asked.

"How about getting Rose out of the way?" Unknown suggested.

"How do I go about that? You should have seen how cunning that Rose is. I don't think getting her out of the picture will be easy. What do you suggest?" Cindy asked.

"It's your man, not mine. I shouldn't be the one telling you what to do all the time." Unknown said.

"Don't worry. I know what to do. You shouldn't be insulting me because you are giving me information. And because you are helping me doesn't make you the boss of me. Don't worry, I will do something about her." Cindy said and hung up the phone angrily.

"Stupid rich idiot!" Unknown said when Cindy hung up the call. "The only thing you know how to do is being stupid." Unknown added and walked away.

When Christopher got back from the room, Mrs. Rita, Rose, Princess and Uzo were all waiting for him. "What is this guy still doing here? I thought I asked him to go home?" Christopher asked pointing at Uzo who was sitting at the head of the table making Rose seat at his right-hand side while Princess was at his left-hand side. "What are you even doing sitting between my wife and child?" Christopher asked angrily. If it were up to him, he would have thrown Uzo out of his house.

"Uzo, please. Stop teasing Christopher. Leave that place for him." Mrs. Rita said before Christopher and Uzo could start arguing.

"Mrs. Rita it's because of you oo... If not for you I would have allowed him to sit there." Uzo said and pointed at a seat farther away from Rose.

"If not for Mrs. Rita and my daughter, you know what I would have done to you. If you like don't start looking for a girlfriend. Before you know it, Princess will be in high school and you'll still be single." Christopher said taking his seat at the head of the table. "This is better!" He added with a broad smile.

"You should eat this food as fast as possible dad!" Princess urged with a wink.

"Why? Is my baby so hungry that she can't even wait a little longer,?" Christopher asked her pretending to not know what she was talking about. After all he has heard their conversation earlier and the food on the table was obviously his favorite.

"No dad, it's just that mom put so much effort into making this food," Princess said with a smile. She moved closer to her father and said to his hearing alone. "She made this food thinking about you. You better start eating before she gets angry."

Christopher laughed at what Princess said then, looked at Rose who was looking at them curiously. "What are you two gossiping about?" She asked them.

"Nothing!" They both answered.

"Ok," Rose said suspiciously. "Let's eat please. The food is getting cold." She added.

"Finally, someone is saying what I want to hear!!" Uzo said which earned him a glare from almost everyone on the table.

They said a short prayer which was led by Princess and Rose started putting food on everyone's plates. "Hmmm," Christopher inhaled deeply when Rose was adding soup to his plate. "This smells so nice." He said. "This is what you get when your wife is multi-talented. I am sure this will taste better than it looks."

Rose smiled shyly and continued to serve them all. When she finished and was about to sit, someone walked in and sat down. "What are you waiting for? Won't you serve me?" The newcomer said rudely.

"What..." Christopher was about to say but Rose placed her hand on his and stood up to serve the newcomer.
