Chapter Sixty Three

Cindy was sitting at home, thinking what to do and how to get back at Rose for throwing her out of Christopher's house on Sunday when a friend called her and told her to turn on her tv. She turned it on and saw Christopher saying that she was forcing herself on him. She got so furious that she started smashing things in the house. "I will make you all pay for this embarrassment!!" She shouted as she continued to throw away everything she could lay her hands on. "No one messes with me and goes away with it. I will take back what belongs to me whether you like it or not!!" She shouted as she continued to thrash her room. She was still very angry when she got a call from her father.

"Where are you?!" He asked immediately she picked up the call.

"I am in my house! Did you also see the live feed?" She asked her father.

"What kind of stupid question is that? Of course, I saw it.! And what are you still doing at home?? Shouldn't you be out there, looking for what to do?" Her father said angrily.

"Why are you shouting at me, dad!? Is it my fault!?" She also replied angrily.

"Listen to me, Cindy. You just lost the only means to support this family and now we have to find out on national television that, he is richer than his father and I combined.!! Shouldn't I be angry at such a thing?" Her father asked angrily.

"Stop shouting dad!! I would have done something but I am out of cash. Can you send me some money so that I can pay some people and they will help me get her out of the way?" Cindy requested.

"That's the only thing you know how to do. Spend money, spend money and spend money. That's what you are good at. You don't take your job seriously and you don't know how to do anything right!!" Her father said.

"Look, dad... All these things happening is not my fault so you should stop blaming me. I have been doing my best to get Christopher. It's just that he doesn't fall into my trap..." Cindy said.

"What trap? I expect you to work on Christopher but the only thing you know how to do is sleep around with those dirty things you call boys.!" Her father said.

"Dad!!! Are you trying to call me a prostitute!!!" She shouted over the phone.

"What else can I call you?? Like mother like daughter!!" Her father cursed.

"What has my mom got to do with this? You always use every opportunity you get to insult her. Why do you keep calling her names when all she has ever done is to love you!?" Cindy asked with tears running down her face.

"You better stop with all that nonsense. You better look for how you will gain pity from the public. I am the Vice President of this country and I will not have you shame me. I won't have you ruin my chance of becoming the president!!" Her father said not minding the sniffing he was hearing from the other end.

"I have told... I have told you that I need money. I need money to pay someone to get rid of Christopher's wife." Cindy answered.

"Fine!! I hope you will handle it well. I don't want you lavishing this money. I will send you six million right now! I better get good results or else, you will have yourself to blame.!" Her father threatened.

"Thank you, dad!! I will do my best. It's just that it's not easy to get to Christopher. The guy is like a rock!!" Cindy said to her father.

"I don't want to come over to Lagos because this is a delicate time. Elections are coming and all eyes will be on me at this point. I am counting on you, Cindy!! Don't disappoint daddy, okay?"

"I won't disappoint you, daddy! I will do my best this time around. Thanks, dad. I love you!!" Cindy said affectionately.

"Hmmm, I am counting on you. I need to go. I will call Allen right now and find out what he is doing about what is happening!" Cindy's father said.

"Ok... Dad, what about my mother? When can I see her?" Cindy asked with caution.

"You will see her when you do the right thing! I will send you the money now! Bye..." Her father answered and disconnected the call. In a few minutes, Cindy got the money in her account.

She picked up her phone and called unknown, "why is the Almighty Cindy Coker calling me?" Unknown asked sarcastically.

"I need your help. I am ready to pay the 1.5 million nairas that you asked for. Should I send it to you now?" Cindy went straight to the point without delay.

"Ooh, the price has gone up.! It's now 2.5 million. Take it or you leave it.!" Unknown said.

"Aah!! Why na? Why did it suddenly become so high?" Cindy asked.

"That's because the situation has changed. I have seen the news and I know you are desperate right now!! 2.5 million and we have a deal.!" Unknown answered.

"Fine!! Where should I send the money into?" Cindy asked.

"Send it to my account. You know how we do it. Once I get the money, I will give you what you need and OH!! I just remembered something.!" Unknown said excitedly.

"What is it?"

"It's a piece of very important information but I won't make you pay for it. Send me the 2.5 million and I will give you very important information that you will need." Unknown said.

"Okay," Cindy said and sent the money to Unknown. "I have sent it to you. Can you tell me what I need to know now?" She asked after sending the money.

"Yes, that's why I like doing business with you. Well, I will send you the number of someones who can get anything done for you. Just tell him what you want and he will get it done in no time. He is my very own person and I trust him." Unknown said.

"Thanks. What about you promised to tell me?" Cindy asked.

"Oh, I don forget is swear!! Well, the mall that Is being opened today. Do you know who owns it?" Unknown asked.

"How would I know? Christopher only said it's for someone very important and close to him. He didn't say who it belongs to!" Cindy answered.

"Well, I know who it belongs to and you will be surprised when I tell you the person that mall was opened for!!" Unknown said.

"Just go straight to the point and stop making me wait!" Cindy said impatiently.

"Okay, calm down... No, let your blood boil now!! That mall belongs to none other than Rose... Mr. Christopher's wife owns that mall!!" Unknown said.

"Hahaha, you must be joking... Right?" Cindy said after having a good laugh. When the person on the other end didn't laugh or reply, she said. "Are you serious??"

"Would I be joking about such a thing?" Unknown asked angrily.

"What!!!" Cindy shouted. "Are you sure this thing you are saying is correct? You are not giving me the wrong information?" Cindy asked. She was hoping for it not to be true. She is still finding it had to believe that Christopher had gotten married within just a few days after traveling and now, he opened a mall. Not just any Mall but a super big mall for the lady he just got married to. What kind of a joke is Life playing on her?

"My information is never wrong. I heard him telling Mrs. Rita about it. If I were you, I won't waste a minute more. She is slowly taking everything from you." Unknown said.

"Fine!... What do you suggest that I do?" Cindy asked.

"Go to that mall and create a scene. They want to hide the identity of the owner of the mall. Why don't you go there and create a scene?? Make It look like they are doing all that just to get back at you." Unknown suggested.

"That's a great idea!! I will go there right now and make the world know that she is just a homewrecker. She came into our lives with a child from God knows where and is using it to fool Christopher." Cindy said. The more she thought about it, the more she felt like she was doing the right thing. What she didn't know Is that unknown was only pushing her to make a scene and people will see her as someone desperate.

"That's right!! You should do that. If you don't do that they will think you have given up. Go and get back your man!!" Unknown said.

"Okay, don't forget to send me the number. I will go there now and show them who the real wife is!" Cindy said and hung up the call. She got dressed as fast as possible and drove to the mall.

On the other hand, Christopher's father was fuming at home. He was watching the news and going through his phone at the same time when the news about Christopher was released. The phone in his hand fell to the ground with a plop. His whole body was shaking due to the shocking news he had just seen about his son. He managed to compose himself and picked up his phone. He read through what was released and when he finished, he found out that the property his son owns is more than the wealth his wife left behind. "How did he manage to get all these?" He asked himself as he read through. He was still going through the news when he saw the video of Christopher at the opening of the mall. "How and when did all these things happen and I don't even know it?" He shouted.

He was still thinking about what was happening when he got a call from Cindy's father. "What do you want?" He asked angrily immediately he picked up the call.

"What kind of stupid question is that? I am calling you because I just watched the news!! What's going on?" Cindy's father asked.

"If you know what is good for you then, you better stop calling me. Everything is finished. If you watched the news as you claimed then, you would have seen that my son is not as helpless as we thought!" Mr. Allen said. He was so frustrated about the whole thing that he felt like killing himself.

"Look!! This is just the beginning ooo!.. You can't tell me that you have given up. This is the time that I need you the most. Elections are fast approaching and I need you as usual.!" Cindy's father said.

"Sorry, but I can't help you this time around. I am a poor man right now. I have lost everything. My son came back to Nigeria and was pretending to be helpless. He acted as if he didn't have a dime to his name. Now!! Now, I get to find out that he is not only rich but, richer than me.!!" Mr. Allen shouted.

"All that you are saying is bullshit.! This is the time when we need to hustle more. Now that we know that your son is very rich, we need to do everything possible to get him and my daughter together. You can't back out now!" Cindy's father said to him. "I would have loved to come to Lagos and handle things myself but you know how it is now... I can't just be moving up and down. All eyes will be on me at this point! What measures have you taken?!" He asked.

"I have not taken any measures. I am washing my hands off this issue. With the kind of power, my son has now eh!! It will be better if I don't anger him. He threatened to send me outside the country if I try to do anything to his family. That was when I didn't even know what kind of wealth he hold ooo!" Mr. Allen said. He didn't want to tell Cindy's father that he had gone to pay their mutual friend someone so that he could help him get Christopher and his small family out of the way. He did that thinking Christopher was only relying on the wealth left behind by his wife. If he had known that Christopher wasn't as simple as he looked, he wouldn't have gone out to pay any money.

"You are just talking like this because you are scared. Do you think I don't know you have gone to see Stone?" Cindy's father asked. "Look, you better don't try to play smart. I made you who you are today and I know a lot of things that can make your son angrier. Don't try to play smart with me!" He added.

Mr. Allen was irritated by what Cindy's father had just said. Who helped who? "If you don't know what to say then just shut up!! I made you who you are today and not the other way round. If I had not come into the picture then you would have been following Bridget everywhere like a housefly.!" After stopping, he remembered that he mentioned Stone."If you know I have gone to see Stone then you will also know that I went there before this stupid development. My son is stronger than the both of us combined so, please leave me alone." He added.

"I will wait for the result of what you and Stone planned. Make sure that the both of you don't disappoint me. I need to make a very big campaign next year and I have to start from now. Next year is just a few months away!! Be fast with whatever you want to do. Okay??" Cindy's father said and ended the call.

Mr. Allen looked at the phone and felt like killing someone. "What kind of joke is life playing on me! How can my son achieve all these under my nose!? What will happen now? I don't even have anything to my name. I was so confident that I had him under control. Ha!! Allen... Allen... Old age has made you stupid.!" He said to himself. "No wonder he never took a dime out of the company. Now I know why he was always acting nonchalant. How did he even manage to achieve so much? Me sef that was giving him money doesn't have a company to my name. I was so confident that I had everything under control." He added.

"Did you call for me?"

He looked at the person who interrupted him and said angrily. "It is your mother that I called for. My friend, will you get out of my sight!!"

"Sorry, sir!!" The maid who had interrupted him apologized and ran away.

"Sorry for your generation.!! Bunch of useless propel!! That is what I employed. Useless people!!" He cursed and took his car keys then walked out of the house angrily.

Cindy got to the mall and before she could even get out of the car, someone had spotted her. She got into the mall and the first thing she did was to look around for Christopher. She went to one of the workers and asked. "Where is Christopher?"

The person she walked to recognized her immediately. "Am sorry ma'am but, I don't know where Mr. Christopher is."

"I will ask you one more time and you better answer me. Where is Christopher?" She asked again.

"I am sorry ma'am but I don't know where he is." She answered Cindy.

"You must be stupid. Do you know who you are talking to? I am his fiancee and I demand you tell me where he Is right now!!" Cindy shouted. At that time she was already creating a scene and people who noticed her started whispering. "Christopher!!!" She called. "I know you are watching me right now so, come out right now!!" She shouted.

Some people even took out their phones and started taking pictures and videos. One of the bodyguards that came in with Christopher saw what was happening and called him.

Christopher and Rose weren't paying attention to the CCTV so they didn't know what was happening. They were still talking when his phone rang. He wanted to ignore the call because it was rare to be called 'dear husband' by Rose. "Won't you answer the call?" Rose asked when she saw that he was planning to ignore it.

"Whoever is calling can wait. I have other important things that I am doing." He answered.

"Come on, answer the phone. It might be very important. Besides, I am not running anywhere. I will still be here when you finish with your call." Rose said and pushed him away from her.

"Fine..." Christopher said and took out his phone from his pocket. He looked at the caller ID and it turned out to be the head of the guards who came in with him. "What is it?" He asked when he picked up the call.

"Am sorry to disturb you boss but there is a problem. Miss Cindy is here and she is making a scene here." The guard answered.

"Gosh!! Can't this lady just give up?" Christopher said massaging his temples. "Where is the?" He asked.

"She is on the ground floor and she is calling out to you!" The guard answered.

"Okay," Christopher said and took a remote from Rose's table. He pressed a button and the floor where Cindy was making a show was the only one shouting. "I'll talk to you later." He said and dropped the call.

"What is she doing?" Rose asked as she watched Cindy on the screen.

Christopher pressed another button and they could hear what Cindy was saying. "If you don't come out here and answer me then, I will not move an inch!!" They heard Cindy say.
