Chapter Twenty Nine

Everyone in the dining room gasped what was happening. The next thing they all knew, the lady was pushed away roughly. The force of the push sent her to the ground unceremoniously. "What the fuck is wrong with you? How dare you kiss me with your filthy stinking mouth!?" Christopher shouted angrily.

"What's wrong with me kissing my fiancee?" The lady asked.

It was at that moment that Rose got over her shock and looked at the person who came in and it was no other than, Cindy Coker. "Fiancee?" Christopher sneered. "You must be crazy," Christopher said.

"Yes, she looks crazy to me tho," Uzo added.

Mrs. Rita who had been watching silently looked at Rose and saw how her expression kept changing. From confusion to shock, From shock to anger, from anger to calmness. "It is your whole family that is crazy!!" Cindy shouted and pointed to Uzo then stood up from the ground. "I came to see you and this is how you welcome me?" She asked as she walked to Christopher.

"Did I invite you to my house?" Christopher asked.

"I don't need an invite before coming to see you. I am your fiancee and I have every right to come to this house anytime I like!!" She shouted and made to touch him but, Christopher dodged her and that was when she saw the remaining people who were sitting at the table.

When the commotion started, Princess had run to her mother and Rose was hugging her protectively. "She looks so scary, who is she, daddy?" Princess asked.

Christopher looked at how scared his daughter was and the anger in him went up another notch. He was so furious at that moment that, he felt like punching Cindy. Uzo who was used to Christopher saw him fisting and unfisting his hands so he hurriedly got up and held him then said, "your daughter is watching. Please calm down."

Mrs. Rita wanted to see how the whole event will play out so, she didn't say anything and just watched. "She is no one baby," Christophe finally answered.

"What do you mean by that, I am someone!!" Cindy said angrily and pointed at Rose and Princess then asked. "Who are those and what are they doing here?"

"Don't you dare point at them? I knew you were stupid but I didn't know you have added deafness to it." Uzo said. "Didn't you hear her calling him her father?" He asked with a smile.

"What... What did you just say?" Cindy stammered.

"That's my wife and daughter so, get your stinking self out of my house!!" Christopher shouted.

"That's a lie. You can't be married!! I am your fiancee and you can't get married to that black thing sitting there!!" Cindy yelled.

Rose who heard what Christoper called her, was a little bit calm on the inside but her face was more than calm it was serene. She picked Princess up and stood up herself. She walked to where princess was sitting beside her Father before the whole drama started and took Princess's baby plate then walked back to her seat. She put Princess on the chair beside her and the whole time she was doing that, no one said a thing all eyes were on her. She dished food into Princess's plate and said, "it's getting late baby, eat. As your daddy said, she is no one. She is just an actress. Do you know what an actress is?" Rose said to Princess.

"Yes, mom!! Of course, I know who an actress is. So what doing here? Is she friends with dad?" Rose asked her mother.

"She is rehearsing for her next movie," Rose answered.

"Wow!! Will daddy be in the movie as well? Because she kissed daddy. And what kind of role is she playing? She looks so scary..." Princess asked innocently.

Uzo was the most curious one. He wanted to hear what Rose's answer will be so badly likewise everyone in the room. "She is probably rehashing for the role of a mad woman!!" Rose answered without looking at anyone in the room. She dished food into her plate as well and added, "eat up. It's getting late and you need to go to bed." After saying that, she also started eating.

Uzo burst into a peal of loud laughter after hearing what Rose called Cindy indirectly. Mrs. Rita giggled like a small child and followed Rose's lead by dishing food into her plate. "Damm!! That was loud!!" Uzo said after calming down from his fits of laughter.

"Did you hear that!!? This thing just indirectly called me a mad woman!!" Cindy finally got over her shock and shouted at no one in particular.

"Isn't that what you are?" Christopher asked her. "Get out of my house this minute. You are ruining my family dinner!." Christopher said to her.

"You will all pay for this!! I will make you regret this humiliation you babe caused me in front of this low life. I am your fiancee and whether you like it or not, you will get married to me... I will make sure of that!!" She shouted angrily.

Christopher was about to reply to her when they heard a loud bang on the table. The noise shocked everyone and they all kept quiet. It was Rose who dropped her spoon on the table with a loud bang. She stood up and walked to Christopher's side and said, "I don't think you understand what he said earlier so, let me introduce myself to you properly. My name is Rose, Rose Sanders and that's my daughter." Rose said and pointed her Finger to Princess who was eating without a care.

"So? Who cares about your name? and, please move your stupid self away from my fiancee." Cindy said to Rose.

"Oh, did I say Rose sanders?" Rose asked as if realizing what she said. "My mistake. I meant to say Rose Allen because we are married." Rose said and held Christopher's waist. After a few seconds of holding him, she sniffed the air and said, "what's that smell?" She sniffed Christopher and said, "geez!!! Why do you smell so awful?" She said and held her nose.

Christopher was confused so, he started sniffing himself to "how do I smell?" He asked.

Rose didn't answer him but, continued sniffing around and when she got to Cindy, she held her nose and said. "Eeew... Is that the smell of your perfume?" She asked Cindy.

Cindy who was rendered speechless with the attitude asked. "What smell?"

"That rotten fish smell. Please don't tell me that's the smell of your perfume. It smells so bad!" Rose said and walked back to Christopher's side and said, "honey, you need to take a bath and wash off this annoying smell. How do I hold or come close to you when you smell as bad as her?" Rose said.

Christopher was so happy when he heard her call him honey. A wide smile quickly spread across his face. "Ok. I take a thorough bath. I will do it now." He said and made to walk out.

"Please wash your mouth also. It smells like fish!!" Rose shouted.

Cindy who had gotten the gist by then was fuming with anger while Uzo's mouth was hanging open. Mrs. Rita was as shocked at Uzo. "You... You... You just insulted me. I will make you pay... You will pay for this!!" Cindy shouted angrily and stomped off.

"Please, try to take better care of yourself so you don't always get to pollute the air!!" Uzo shouted after her and looked at Rose with admiration. "Wow!! That was great!! I used to think Christopher has the worst replies but you are the best!!" He praised Rose.

"You handled her better than I ever have," Christopher said walking back into the dining room.

"What are you doing here? I asked you to wash up and you are back. Did you think I was joking? You smell like her and it's making me nauseous..." Rose said to Christopher angrily.

"Am sorry. I thought you just wanted to get her out of here. I didn't know you were serious." Christopher explained.

"Wow!! Your breath even stinks like hers. How do you expect us to eat with such a smell?" Rose asked and sat down with a frown on her face.

"It's ok. I'll go take a bath. You guys carry on. I will be back soon." Christopher said and started walking away.

"Chris!!" Rose called out to him. He turned back and she said. "I don't want to see that cloth on you again. I suddenly hate the sight of it." She said.

Christopher smiled and nodded his head at what she said before walking away. "You are the best!! Can we be friends?" Uzo asked Rose. "You just handled Cindy and her reaction was epic. I have never seen such a face. She was so ugly when you said she smelled like rotten fish. That was great!!" Uzo said and laughed.

"Am done, mom!" Princess who has been quietly eating her meal said.

"Ok. Let me take you to bed." Rose said and made to stand up but was stopped by Mrs. Rita.

"Let me take her. I am done here as well. Besides, I feel like you youngsters will have a lot to talk about and, I must commend you." Mrs. Rita said with a smile. "You did great. Christopher made the right choice." Mrs. Rita said pushing her chair back. She stood up and said, "come Princess. Let me take you to your room and get you ready for bed."

"Ok, grandma. Good night mom!" Princess said and kissed Rose on her cheeks then Mrs. Rita helped her down from her chair.

"Won't you say good night to me as well?" Uzo asked.

"No. Daddy said you will reduce the size of my brain if I keep talking to you," Princess answered.

"That's rude Princess. Your dad doesn't know what he is saying. Say sorry to him." Rose cautioned Princess.

"But, it's true. He makes me talk too much and he acts like a baby," Princess whined.

"Say sorry to him right now Princess! It's wrong to say such to an elder." Rose said sternly.

"It's ok. Let her be. That's Christopher talking through her. She will be her father's carbon copy." Uzo said with a smile. "Good night Princess and if you don't love me, you are missing out."

"Good night," Princess answered under the stern gaze of her mother.

"Please, don't listen to her. She can be so hard-headed at times," Rose said after Mrs. Rita and Princess had walked off.

"You don't need to apologize. She got that from you and her father. I can see it as clear as day." Uzo said.

"I am not hard-headed." Rose defended herself.

"Yes, you are not. Can I ask you something?" Uzo asked.

"Yes, you can but, I need to clear the table. I lost my appetite. Are you still eating?" Rose said and asked.

"I am done eating. Even tho I regret not eating as much as I wanted, you made up for that with the stunt you pulled. I wish I recorded it." Uzo said.

Rose was gradually realizing what she did and she was feeling shy. She was angry at what happened but she never planned to react the way she did. "Stop it, please. I didn't know what came over me." Rose said.

They cleared the table and the leftover food off the table. Rose and Uzo took them to the kitchen while Rose was washing the dishes, Uzo stood beside her and said, "are you angry at what happened tonight?"

"Why would I be angry? I am not angry at all. I knew all about Christopher's engagement to her before coming here." Rose answered.

"Fine. If you are not angry then, are you jealous?" Uzo asked again.

"I am not jealous that she kissed Christopher and it took him a while before pushing her off!" Rose said.

"Wow!! I can see that you are really not jealous. You really are not." Uzo said nodding his head. "So, I asked you for something else but, you didn't give me a reply."

"What did you ask? Cause I don't remember anything." Rose said.

"I asked if you if we could be friends and you didn't reply," Uzo said and helped her arrange the plates she was washing.

"Why would you want to be friends with me?" Rose asked.

"Do you need to ask me that?" Uzo said. "First of all, you were able to make my friend fall in love with you at your first meeting, and secondly, you just shunned the almighty Cindy Coker with a few words!! That's two out of the things I have seen so far"

"I didn't do any of those things. It's doesn't make me amazing or anything." Rose said.

"Really? It makes you awesome. I know what I am saying and it's not easy to catch Christopher's attention but, you did that with just little to no effort at all." Uzo said.

"Ok, I'll accept your offer if you can tell me something I want to know," Rose said.

"What's that? I'll tell you anything for you to be my friend." Uzo readily agreed.

"You know Christopher very well, right?" Rose asked.

"Yes."

"Good. Has he had so many girlfriends that one wouldn't be able to count?" Rose asked. She has wanted to know since when Christopher told her he couldn't remember the number of his0 ex-girlfriends.

"Christopher? I can count the number of ladies he has ever had in his life and that includes you. It's not even up to four." Uzo said.

"If it's not up to four and that includes me, it only means that he lied to me," Rose said.
