Nineteen.

Lana’s POV

Sam ran off the moment I told him. It was clear where he was going. I shouldn’t have said anything. At least I couldn’t get into more trouble. Maybe Logan would believe me after all.

I was surprised when Logan's scent hit me later that day. His deep voice tells the guards to go take a break. Seconds later, he is stood in front of my cell.

“Why didn’t you say anything?”

I look down at my bare, dirty feet and pull them up under me.

“Feeling sorry for me?” I mumble back. I couldn’t help with the sarcasm.

His purple eyes flash strangely. I had never seen anything like them. They certainly stood out. He doesn’t say anything, just stares at me. Was he waiting for me to say something else?

“You are different.”

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I jump up, becoming defensive over his comment.

The corner of his lips twitched, was he amused?

“What did you do to him?” I needed to know.

“He is dead.”

“Oh,” what else could I say, did he want me to thank him?
