Chloe

I stood there, still as a statue, the bags weighing heavily in my hands.

I had never seen them like this before.

Layla and her mother had always seemed close. Her mother adored and spoiled her, she was the golden child. That’s why she was the way she was, thinking she was above everyone else, and doing whatever she pleased without consequence. But now, I was watching as the walls between them cracked wide open.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?!” Layla’s voice shook with disbelief. “Are you just going to sit there and do nothing?!”

Her mother didn’t even lift her gaze from her phone. “What the hell am I going to do?” she muttered flatly. “Your father already decided you’re going to marry that man. I can’t go against his wishes.”

I blinked, startled. Layla marriage had already been decided?

“Why can’t you go against his wishes?! What the hell, Mom? Do you want me to marry that ugly man? He’s six years older than me, and he has a belly! If I’m going to marry someone, it’s

  • I Mistook The Billionaire For A Stripper    I’m not a fool, Chloe

ChloeThe moment the door clicked shut behind us, something inside me snapped. My hand wrapped around her waist, yanking her close until there wasn’t an inch left between us. The other slid up, curling beneath her jaw, tilting her face up to mine. Her eyes widened, startled, as I kissed her rough, and desperate, like a man trying to reclaim something that was slipping away. She stiffened, shocked by my actions. When she didn't respond to my kiss, I bit down on her bottom lip, forcing a gasp out of her, and that was all the invitation I needed. My tongue pushed in, deep, kissing her the way I’d been aching to do since last night.I wasn’t in my right mind since my father's words last night. I couldn't even sleep a wink.Where was she? Who was she with? Why hadn’t she answered my calls? All those questions were on my mind. Even after my guy reported back that she’d stayed the night at her friend’s place, something didn’t sit right. If my father hadn’t buried me in meetings and assignmen

  • I Mistook The Billionaire For A Stripper    Thank you, sugar mummy

Chloe I stepped out of the car, the heat of the morning sun brushing against my skin. The bags in the backseat rustled as I leaned in and pulled them out. I turned to Jade, who was still seated, watching me with surprise dancing in her blue eyes. “You’re really giving me some of these?” she asked, eyes wide like she couldn’t believe it. I nodded with a small smile. “I know it’s not a lot, but it's what I can do right now.” Jade blinked at me. “Are you insane? This is a lot. Do you even know how much these cost? I could never afford something like this. They’re all designers.” “You helped me more than you know. It’s just clothes. You made something really difficult a little easier, thank you.” Jade shook her head, muttering under her breath, “This is insane, I don't know how to accept this.” But the way she hugged the bag to her chest told me a different story. Stella leaned over from the driver’s seat. “You didn’t have to get that much for me.” “Of course I did,” I said, smil

  • I Mistook The Billionaire For A Stripper    I was heading back into the tiger’s den.

Chloe My phone buzzed softly in my purse. [I'm outside.] It was from Stella. I stared at the message for a moment before slipping the phone back in and closing the flap. I took one last look around the room to make sure I hadn’t left anything behind, not that I brought much. Just my purse, and myself. And somehow, it still felt like I was leaving something behind. Maybe that was the problem. I exhaled, steadying my nerves, then stepped out of the room. Alexander was still talking on the phone, standing near the floor-to-ceiling windows, voice low. The moment he saw me, his hand lifted, and he ended the call. He was always doing that. Ending calls for me, as if everything else in the world could wait. "My friend is outside," I said quietly, pausing a few feet away. He nodded. “Is that so?” I hesitated. There was something about his gaze that always left me a little breathless. I stepped forward. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I rose on my toes and pulled him into a hug

Chloe Did I say something wrong? I paced slowly by the door, biting my bottom lip. Maybe I was too much. Maybe I should’ve watched the way I spoke. I got too excited and comfortable. Chloe, what were you thinking? Ever since he walked into the bathroom, I hadn’t been able to sit still. I finished my breakfast too fast, cleaned the dishes even faster, and now I was just waiting anxiously. I closed my eyes and whispered to myself, Get it together. He’s just a man. Don’t let him affect you like this. The room door creaked open. I flinched, ready to turn around and head back to my seat, but he caught my hand. "Chloe?" he said. I froze, then slowly turned to face him. He stepped out, looking as effortlessly gorgeous as ever. His shirt had changed, and his hair was damp, a towel lazily ruffling it. Some strands stuck to his forehead. Ah, still looking handsome. He blinked when he saw me standing frozen by the hallway. “Why are you standing there? Is something wrong?” He asked.

  • I Mistook The Billionaire For A Stripper    Was I just overthinking it?

Alexander “Me or the food?” Chloe froze at the doorway. Her eyes were wide, her cheeks already tinged with red, that action I was starting to find addicting. She tried to gather herself, but her voice still cracked as she answered. “W-What kind of question is that?” I chuckled low, stirring the pan one last time and flipping the eggs. “A fair one,” I said. “You were staring for a long time. I was starting to get curious what exactly you were looking at so lustfully.” “I—I wasn’t staring!” she blurted, stepping fully into the kitchen, arms flailing slightly in defense. “I was just observing,” she mumbled. I turned. “Oh? My mistake then. Should I pose next time you want to observe me? Or would that be too distracting for you?” Her mouth opened, but nothing came out. Her blush deepened. And right then, I knew I had won that little exchange. Teasing wasn’t something I did often. I didn’t find the world entertaining enough to joke with. But with her, every little reaction
