There were three other men after him and none of them had the ring but they didn't dare say it after they were caught stealing from the man sitting behind the table with a gun in his hand.
For the fact that they were caught stealing goods from him to resell, who wouldn't also think that they stole his ring. It was like the earth was against them to have picked this particular day they had planned to steal for his ring to go missing.
Tears dropped from the corner of his eyes as he heard a gun reloading. “Please, please, please don't kill me…” He muttered with his hands clasped together.
“Where is my ring?”.
“Please…I didn't take it…”
The whole room shook as another gunshot rang out.
Thud! Another body fell.
One of the men standing at the side walked forward and picked up the two shells of the bullet. He moved to the third man who was already trembling and placed the two shell in front of him.
“I don't have to repeat myself for you to know what I'm asking for.” His voice pierced through the silence.
The third man broke out in cold sweat. He was about to beg for forgiveness when a knock sounded on the door.
“Come in.”
The door pushed open and a small group of people walking in.
“Boss, we found this container with a white substance laying beside the bed in your hotel room at Ice five-star hotel. We conducted a research on the substance and found out that it's a sexual stimulant that stimulates the body into wanting to engage in sexual intercourse. On the container, we found fingerprints. Fingerprints of a lady.”
His eyes narrowed as he looked at the container in the transparent nylon. “No surveillance footage?”
“No sir. That is the VIP floor. Surveillance cameras are not on that floor to ensure the privacy of their VIP guests.”
He nodded then asked. “Who owns the fingerprints?”
“A young woman who goes by the name Natasha Kisniver.”
He leaned back on his chair as he aimed at the third man. “I give you 24hours to find her.” He pulled the trigger and the third man fell to the ground with a soft thud.
“We are on it sir...” The man replied, visibly shaken as he watched the third man fall from the corner of his eyes.
They turned and walked out, the room returning back to it's deadly silence.
The fourth man was already crying and he had wet his pants. The three bullet shells were in front of him and he knew any moment from now, four bullet shells will be laying in front of the last man.
The silence in the room was eating him up. The only sound he could hear was his heart slamming his chest.
He heard the man inhale and exhale sharply.
“No clue? Then you two are just as dead as the others.”
Before they could utter a word of plea, two shots fired.
Thud! Thud!!
He stood up with the gun and his secretary opened the door for him. “You know what to do.” He said to one of the men in the room before walking out.
“Natasha Kisniver.” He muttered as he entered the elevator. So she had the guts to drug him and sleep with him. That crime could have been forgiven but she automatically signed a death warrant after she stole his ring.
“Theodore.” He called.
“Yes Mr. Darkmoon.”
“Prepare the cage for our new guest.” He said, his eyes cold and calculating.
“Yes sir.”
_____
After weeks of sleepless nights and desperate decisions, Natasha stood in the doorway of the hospital, her heart pounding in her chest. The heavy smell of antiseptic clung to her clothes, but today was different—today, her sister was getting the treatment she needed.
The doctor had just confirmed that the last round of tests had come back, and they had a plan for her now. The massive debt was gone, the auction was over, and now all that was left was to pray the medicine worked.
But it hadn't been an easy journey.
“Do you remember when you were younger, Elina?” Natasha whispered to her as she held her hand, her fingers gently tracing the lines of her sister's palm. “When you would race around the yard, even in winter, daring the cold air to stop you?”
Elina, pale and frail in the hospital bed, gave a weak smile. Elina's once-bright eyes were dimmer now. The constant battle with her lungs taking its toll. She coughed—a deep, rattling cough that echoed in the sterile room.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the doctors had said. Though it had progressed beyond simple asthma. And now, cystic fibrosis. It was a battle to keep her lungs clear, a daily struggle that had only worsened as she entered her teenage years. Natasha had watched the slow decline in real-time. Each breath was a fight. Each day brought a new set of pills, nebulizer treatments, and hospital visits.
“I’ll be okay,” Elina whispered, though the tremor in her voice told Natasha otherwise. Her sister’s condition wasn’t fatal in the immediate sense, but it was insidious. It would shorten her life and steal away her strength if left unchecked. “The doctors said the new treatments... they might work.”
Natasha nodded, tears threatening to spill. She wanted to believe that. The cost had been astronomical, but it was worth it to see her sister’s chest rise and fall with a less labored breath. The pain in Elina's eyes was still there, but she wasn’t fighting to breathe at least—at least for now.
“Ma'am, you'll have to step out. We are about to begin the surgery.” A nurse said from behind her.
Natasha nodded and gave Elina's hand a gentle squeeze. “You'll be fine, ok.” She whispered, a tear threatening to fall.
Elina gave a weak smile as Natasha stood up. She watched her leave, the door closing behind her before allowing the tears slip from her eyes.
Natasha cleaned her eyes as she walked out of the hospital. She took a deep breath and looked up at the sky. Just then, she felt her phone vibrating in her bag.
She opened it and pulled her phone out, only to be meant with 15 missed calls from Tiana.
Another call came through again and Natasha was quick to answer it.
“Hello…”
“Natasha, where are you?” Tiana's worried voice came through the phone.
“I just came out of the hospital.”
“Natasha, you need to run and hide. Your life is in danger.”
Alexander ignored her and opened the back seat. He threw her into the car and leaned in. His eyes held no emotion and his tone was dead serious. “Next time you try to run, I'll order my men to shoot you on the spot.” With that, the door closed shut, sealing her fate which was now in his hands.Natasha bit her lip as she watched a truck tow the taxi away. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “Ma'am! Ma'am!!” “Hmm!” Natasha sat up at the sound of someone calling her. She looked beside her and was shocked to see the driver beside her. “You've been lost in thoughts for almost 30 minutes. We've arrived at your apartment. Can you just pay me my money so I can leave.” “Huh!” Natasha cleaned her eyes and looked around. “Where did the black cars go?” She asked. The driver furrowed his brows. “What black cars? Ma'am, if you are feeling unwell, you should go see a doctor. There are no black cars here.” Natasha frowned. Didn't the driver say they were being chased by black cars and
Natasha looked back as she ran. She was surprised to find nobody behind her. Wait, was Alexander really letting her run away? If he was then she better run fast before he changes his mind. Natasha scanned the area as she ran. Black tiled ground with some engravings she didn't bother to look at. The sides of the road were decorated with black plants and flowers. This man obviously had an obsession for black. Natasha ran some miles before she finally got to the main road where she could see cars and people. She called a taxi and hopped in without waiting any seconds longer. She looked back as the taxi drove away. Something made her feel uneasy. Was Alexander really letting her go like that? She expected to see him or his men chasing her, but none of them showed up. What was he up to? Natasha shook her head and focused on the road. She has been looking for how to escape, now that she did, why should she bother herself with why he didn't come chasing after her. He has found his ring
Natasha woke up to the sound of a knock on her door. She rubbed her eyes and opened them.“Come in.” She said, wondering who it was.A maid walked into the room to deliver a message. “Ma'am, the boss wants you downstairs for breakfast.” She said with a slight bow before walking out. Natasha frowned and closed her eyes. She still wants to sleep but she's starving. Forcing herself up from the bed, she stands up and drag her lazy legs into the bathroom. She turns on the expensive-looking tap on the sink and splash water on her face. She opens the cabinet above the sink and finds a mouthwash there. After doing what's needed, she walked out of the room. Her eyes looked around the hallway. Every single place screamed ‘MONEY’. She didn't even know where the dining room was, how's she supposed to get there. Hearing sounds behind her, Natasha turned to see the elevator door open. Two men walked out, chatting about something. She should ask them for direction. “Excuse me, can you please show
“I gave an order, and you dare disobey.” His voice was low and calm, making her feel uneasy. She expected him to shout on her so she could also vent her frustration, but it seems that won't be working tonight. “I don't have to follow your orders.” She spat. “If I don't want to do something, I won't do it.” “Go take a shower before I drag you into the bathroom and strip you naked.” “Huh?” Natasha subconsciously wrapped her hand around her body. Did he just say he'll strip her naked? That was enough to set her on her feet. Her mind wondered back to the night she stole his ring. The way his eyes darkened when he saw her body. The way his tongue swirled around her nipple…gosh Natasha! Her cheeks flushed red and her expression didn't go unnoticed. What would it feel like if he sucked her again? She suddenly wanted to feel that feeling in her stomach. “Stop it Natasha. You shouldn't be thinking of that. You need to find a way out of here and get far away from this devil.” Her subconsci
Natasha bit her lower lip to stifle her cry. His eyes darkened at the sight of her biting her lip. He felt like biting that lip too. With a single click of his fingers, two burly men emerged from the dark. Natasha just realized that they had been in the room all along. They removed the iron cuffs while he stood in front of her, watching her. Natasha looked at him, her voice low but determined. “You can keep me in a cage but I'll never be yours.” A cruel smirk played across his lips. “You will learn to accept it.” The two men raised her up like an empty sack. Alexander turned around and walked into the darkness. They followed behind him. Natasha tried to fight the men holding her but her efforts were useless. They walked pass a door and the sound of people screaming invaded her ears again. The passage was filled with red lights and she couldn't ignore the stench of blood that filled the air. Locked doors lined both sides of the passage. She saw a man being dragged into a room.
She heard something click and what followed next was the ear-deafining screams coming from different angles. The sound of a woman screaming stopped her breath. That was enough to throw her into a turmoil. She heard the same click sound and all the screaming disappeared. Wait, the room was soundproof? His shoe clicked on the floor as he resumed walking around her.“You heard that right?” He asked, fiddling with the chains on her hand. “Men aren't the only ones tortured down here. Women too, because they dared to go against me. Do you think a simple please will make me let you go? Those women committed crimes that aren't even up to what you did but they have already been locked up. And you,’” He trailed off, a mocking laugh escaped his lips. “you expect me to let you go?” Natasha looked down as she tried to fight back the tears that threatened to fall. “Where is my ring Natasha Kisniver?” His voice sounded, and she shook at the mention of the ring.He walked around and stopped in fr
