Chapter 5: Crafty Bella

The result of staying up late was that the next morning, Annie felt very tired. She looked at the mirror and found herself turned pale.

This couldn’t be her! Impossible!

Annie really admired Bella’s ability and her health. This’s only one night! If she keeps doing like this, she can even die.”

Annie took a deep breath, sat down at the dressing table, and began to dress up. She tried to use powder to hide the exhaustion and boredom under her eyes. After getting ready, she went downstairs to have breakfast.

As soon as she got there, she was startled by her husband's appearance.

“Hm…Aren't you going to work today?"

Anyway, Dustin really doesn’t like to wait for anyone. Just when finishing his work, he will leave immediately. But today, he was sitting here to have breakfast with his wife, there was only one case: he had a day off.

“Yeah… I have time today, I mean… I worked very hard so I just need to relax.”- said Dustin.

“Don't I still have to go to work today? Come here! Take a seat!”- he continued.

Facing this attitude, Annie felt a little pressured.

Dustin looked at her for a while and was about to say something, but when facing her eyes, suddenly he didn't know what to say.

“What’s wrong with you? Is there something on my face?”- she asked.

Dustin shook his head and continued eating his breakfast.

It wasn't until Annie finished eating that her husband asked her, his voice was so soft:

"Are you busy today?"

“Yes.” Annie took a tissue and said: “I have an important meeting today, it’s kind of urgent.”

What was the matter with him? Why was he suddenly asking her like that? That’s so weird.

But then, Annie realized that she needed to deal with a lot of documents, she quickly ran upstairs, grabbed a stack of papers, and quickly went to the office.

Annie was driving while calling assistant Steve:

"Michael will come to discuss about the project soon, and at seven o'clock tomorrow morning, Joyce of PT workshop will also come.”-said Steve.

“Well, I’m thinking about making Micheal get stood up.”

“...What do you mean? Are you kidding?”-he confused.

“Yeah, just kidding haha, why do I have to do that? I’m always polite!.”

…

It was ten o'clock.

Now, on the twelfth floor of the FC group, Annie was sitting on a chair, sipping a cup of tea. She was waiting for some special guests. And they arrived on time. Steve was knocking on the door: 

"Manager Annie, Mr. Micheal is here."

“Come in, please!”- said Annie.

Annie put her teacup on the table and adjusted her face. Then the door slowly opened, assistant Truong and two more people walked in. Annie stood up and smiled:

“Nice to meet you, Micheal!”

“Yeah, it’s my pleasure!.”- said Micheal.

“We are all here, so can we discuss our project now?”- Annie asked the man.

“Yes, of course, I don’t want to waste your time.”

They sat down and started to discuss the upcoming project. Looking at the plan from Vinwind, she felt that her employees were still lacking too much. They need to work harder.

Annie read the plan carefully and finally shook her head. She put it on the table: 

"This plan is very detailed. However, I am not interested in the project of your company. I’m so sorry for that."

Micheal even was not angry, he just smiled: 

"But aren't you intending to transfer the development direction of FC? I think this project is very suitable for your requirements right now. Believe me, my company is always prestigious.”

“Yeah, I know that.”- she said.

“Unfortunately, you’re information is not accurate anymore. It’s the truth that I intended to change the direction of our business. But that was the past, I have a new direction now. And… I just want to say… I’m so sorry but we can’t cooperate this time. Thank you so much for coming here!”- she continued.

“Alright…Maybe we don't have the grace to cooperate. Thank you for spending time with me. I’ll try to create more projects that can interest you.”

“Okay, I’m waiting for your news! Sorry for wasting your time. I hope one day we can cooperate on an interesting project.”

“I hope so…”- said the man.

Then they shook hands and said goodbye to each other.

When ensuring that Micheal had left, Annie told steve to investigate Vinwind's foreign partner and report back to her.

“But for what? You don’t want to cooperate with his company, then you told me to investigate his company? Don’t say that you want to sabotage his business.”- Assitant Steve wondered.

“Yeah… You’re right!”- said Annie.

Although he knew that his boss is crafty, he still have to complete the mission.

Being an assistant, he doesn’t have other choices…
