Nowadays, I was looking forward to returning home as I leaped out of the vehicle, disregarding Uncle Charlie's caution to be more watchful, and darted into the house, murmuring a series of sorry to whoever I nearly collided with.

When I got to my room door, I hurriedly opened it and walked inside, making sure to secure it behind me, and there he was, the object of my obsession...literally.

I tossed my backpack on the floor and approached the mattress, where the unnamed man was still comatose, his chest moving nonchalantly up and down.

I pouted, slightly miffed that he wasn't awake yet. He had been unconscious for three days and showed no indications of awakening.

I knew it wasn't anything physical or something a doctor could manage because his wounds had disappeared the day I rescued him, leaving no scar to signify he had been severely hurt.

He wasn't human, I realized the first time I saw his enormous black wings. Obviously, he wasn't an angel, but I doubted
