I muttered weakly, looking into his eyes, hoping he would understand.

"Perhaps you forget we are still here." Xavier snorted.

Cameron's gaze was on Kai when I turned around, and he had a cunning look in his eyes and a smirk on his lips. I shielded Kai's eyes from his evil gaze, but I was gently pushed aside.

"I'm not some damsel in distress. I don't need you to protect me. I can take him out myself." He glared.

I couldn't help the tiny smile that occupied my lips as he pointed his sword at Cameron and Xavier. "Now, who wants a taste of my sword first?"
