เข้าสู่ระบบ~Dakota’s POV~“Too slow, run it again!” yells Mr. Thornhill in his drill sergeant voice. Hayden picks up speed, skating on ice like a warrior. He chucked the puck into the net. I leap up, clapping for him like one of those smitten puck bunnies. Mr. Thornhill, however, isn't impressed. He glances at his stopwatch, frowning. “That's not gonna do it!”Another run around the ice. Another hurl of the puck into the net. “Again!” Mr. Thornhill yellls. I hear Hayden grunt, grim determination in his stride. Shooting drills with Mr. Thornhill are no joke. He's always pushed Hayden to the limits but watching it now, something feels off. I can't shake the frightening concern that wrapped itself around my heart. Every time Hayden groans in pain, I feel it hit me. I've never been so invested in Hayden's game not have I ever had to worry about him on the rink. He's always been a different beat on ice. Cold, focused, calculating, fast. His game IQ is off the charts his persistence is impec
~Hayden’s POV~She's definitely not okay, I can tell by the way she's fidgeting. Her cheeks are pink, her lips are trembling and her entire body is rigid as if she's afraid to even move. I love to see it, the effect I can still have on her even though she's pretending not to be. Nothing can ever top that divine expression on her face: like she's torn between giving in and fighting me. She works her jaws, fighting hard to contain herself as I continue to pick popcorn off her lap and deposit them into her mouth. When the last of it is gone, I try to remove my finger but she traps it between her teeth like she's telling me not to leave. My brows lift curiously. “Oh?” She is squirming with need and ashamed of it. I hate when she's ashamed of her desires like it's such a bad thing to be drawn to this, to me. I can see her logic fighting against her emotions. I stick my finger deeper into her mouth, encouraging her to suck on it. She does, moistening it up, batting her eyelashes
~Dakota’s POV~The car ride to the cinema is mostly quiet. I stare out of the window lost in my thoughts about the deal we just made. Honestly, I think Hayden's overestimating himself. This is the same boy who has never kept a relationship. The same one who used to openly brag about his inability to maintain a relationship. The same one who was so opposed to having a relationship that he had to invent a fake one just to clean up his image. Ha! I bet he won't even last the semester before he gives up or gets bored or does some stupid shit that'll make him lose this bet. I've had to accept the rumors on campus about him are true: Hayden's for fun times not a long time. I just need to get the good times out of him and get the hell out of this deal before he ruins me. I don't need him to hold my hands, take me out on dates and be a “normal” boyfriend; I just need him to slam me head-first into his pillow and take me from behind. “A penny for your thoughts?” his voice pulls me out of
~Hayden’s POV~I lean against the car, waiting for her, with a bouquet of yellow roses. It's a chilly night with plenty of stars in the sky. I pull my jacket together. The back of my throat still tastes like victory from earlier when she chose me over Elliot. Now, I can't stop the pounding in my chest as she steps out of the apartment building, freshly-showered with new clothes on: jeans and a low-riding crop top that exposes her belly button a little. She had let her hair down, cascading all over her face exactly how I love it. I rouse from my position as she closes in. “Wow, you look amazing!” I say, speechless. My throat burns with more praises for her but I didn't want to freak her out so I thrust out the bouquet. “Here, this is for you!” She hesitates, frowning. “I told you…no more elaborate stunts!”“This isn't a stunt, Dakota. It's a reminder of my vow, a seal of my promise to never hurt you again. Consider it, also, a celebration of our first-day anniversary.”She arche
~Dakota’s POV~ I know I shouldn’t let myself be drawn back into his nest, he is a viper and he’ll sting me again when I least expect it, but he is also touching me in ways no one else has ever touched me and I can’t really think clearly right now. We are surrounded by an entire crew yet it feels like we are the only ones left in the world. I had to stop myself from moaning out loud when his fingers found my skin again. He trails pure heat down my spine. He’s taking his sweet time like he’s luxuriating in this moment and wants it to be frozen in time. His lips expel hot breath against my earlobes, sending shocking shivers down my spine. It takes hard work to control my breathing and stop my chest from rising and falling fast. I didn’t want to expose the effect he has on me to everyone in here, especially not to him. “Can I get you to put a hand around her face like this?” the shoot director instructs, taking Hayden’s hand and place it around my lower face. He grips my
~Hayden’s POV~ “Remember, one shoot and we are done. No funny tricks, Hayden, I mean it!” Dakota warns as she stands from the makeup chair. The shoot set is in an abandoned warehouse decorated with Halloween paraphernalia. Dakota and I are matching in a Bonnie and Clyde costume. She is hot as fuck as Bonnie. The makeup department had given her a fierce eye makeup that makes her gaze ten times more piercing. “You look amazing,” I tell her now. Dakota keeps a straight face, pretending not to hear me. The set designers are putting finishing touches while we wait for the photographer who's running a little late. Kevin Gates’ “AMNESIA” is blasting through a speaker. “I love your makeup, your eyes, they're gorgeous!” I continue. Her jaws tighten. “Stop it!” I stifle a laugh at her reaction. Fumbling in my bag, I pick out a small elegant box. “I've got something for you. Might go well with your costume,” I say. She glares at the box, unmoving. “I don't want i
