CHAPTER 8: Switched
She woke up with a headache, she couldn’t remember how she fell asleep last night. She checked her phone right away and saw the time and remembered the task she has at hand. She needed to settle the electric bill before their electricity got cut off.
Then she remembered it was Monday and she also had to go to Kaia’s office and report. She checked the time and prepared for a quick shower. She chose pancakes for her breakfast and hot chocolate. She cleaned up the bedroom and made sure the bed was made, she took another look at the address book and the email to know who she needed to talk with when she reached the office.

She was surprised when Keanna took the light that night, she didn't know what Kyla would be doing. She is the other alter of Keanna and she likes to party, she is always rebellious, she likes doing things that a decent woman wouldn’t do. She took a look at the living room where the woman was and she could not distinguish the house. Then she heard a car stop, the woman in the living room almost jumped to her feet and ran to the bedroom. Someone approached the door, jigged with the keys and unlocked the door.She looked at him and tried to remember if she had seen him elsewhere. The man stared at the door of the bedroom where the woman ran and then went to the kitchen. He was carrying some bags which looked like groceries to her. The question made her remember the dream she just had and it gave her goosebumps. She slid her hands in her arms to at least make her feel better. Kaia was in the middle of a meeting when Keanna took the light. Fortunately, she was there as an audience. Keanna almost went out of the room when she noticed people she doesn’t know sitting with her at the conference table. Then she saw Carrie, looking at her. It seemed like she noticed something changed in her. The meeting ended after an hour and although she was not sure what the meeting was about, she knew it would be important for Kaia and hers in case Kaia goes dormant. She was watching TV when she heard what Jaymee said and she didn’t like it one bit. Wanting to show her disagreement with the decision she took the light but she was surprised to see another man in the room. She knows he likes Kaia more than her and the fact that Kaia is always out since she has to make sure that their system has what they need. For her (Kyla), she just wants to be able to enjoy her life but there are some things that stop her from having one. She wanted to be a doctor but gave up on the idea, but she still likes watching television shows or dramas that take hospital scenes. She is not a good one to manage time, she could just watch tv the whole day and night, sometimes even non-stop forty-eight hours. Kaia had to take the light from Kyla when she started to feel nervous and was about to break down as it is her job to take care of them. She needed to make sure that their system is in good condition and that they are not harmed in any way. She doesn’t know what happened when she was pulled back or what has transpired. She found herself in a cubicle and someone was knocking at the door. She looked down at herself and she was still wearing the clothes she usually wears in the office. She saw the scratches she has on her arms and good thing she always brings a cardigan in her bag. Another knock came at the door. “Miss, are you okay in there? Would you like us to call someone for you?” Offers the person outside of the cubicle. She made sure she looked okay before she opened the door.

Keanna saw Kira and Kyla at the shore after work. They seemed to be having a serious conversation. She could almost imagine how Kyla felt right now as she had been “asleep” for long enough to be updated about what is happening with them.
