Chapter 73: The New Mistress

Ivor and I went for a walk in the hospital garden. We walked shoulder to shoulder, no one said anything that made the atmosphere between us was like a vacuum. I felt confused as to how to break the silence, but I quickly let myself focus on enjoying the walk.

We went back to my room when I felt sleepy.

Before Ivor left, he said while I was surfing my phone, “I'll come pick you up at the mansion tomorrow morning.”

“What about your job?” I asked. Ivor is a hard worker, he usually starts his work at 6 am . “You don't have to pick me up, give me the address, I'll get there myself.”

“But I'll be worried,” Ivor said. His voice was soft.

I looked at him in surprise. Would he be worried? About what?

“Come on,” I said.

Ivor just laughed, “Good night, and I'll still pick you up tomorrow morning.” And he left.

The next morning, he went to the hospital as soon as I had finished eating breakfast.

“You're on time, I just finished eating my breakfast,” I said, and the guards escorted us to the car.
