"I'm fine thank you, headed to the training arena"

"Already? are you sure you're okay enough to go back"

"Yes I'm as fit as a fiddle! are you headed there too?"

"Yeah, I am I also want to apologize to you, I should have gone along with you pups when you went for your run, this whole disaster would have been avoided"

"There's nothing to apologize for Instructor, we stayed on the trail as you advised us to, it's just that we got pulled into the zone from some distance away, plus I could easily tell where the trail was from looking at the thread trail from persons walking regularly along there"

Beau did not come to training which I expected, I also didn’t see Carson either, so our team was short two persons but we made do and made it through our training hours, by the time we’re done and I get back to my room, it’s simply to shower and plop down into bed.

I get my phone from the night stand drawer, it’s surprising to see I have a missed call from my dad from two days ago, oh my, I wonder if he’s still up.

I dial his number and he picks up on the second ring “hello” “hey uh Dad, what’s up, I’m just getting to check my phone and saw your missed call”

“Oh uhm I just wanted to see how you are doing, that’s all, are you well?”

“Yes I am, got out of the hospital this morning”

“What? Hospital what happened?”

“Got poisoned by a Devourant, so did Beau but we’re okay now”

“A Devourant and you’re telling me you’re both okay?!”

“I’m here, talking to you right now aren’t I? I’m fine, how about you, are you okay?”

“I’m as okay as I can be, the hospital is fairly busy these days with the new guards around, they spar with the other warriors, trying to teach them a bit but naturally there are some casualties, nothing to worry about”

“Have there been anymore attacks?”

“There was one but no one got hurt because the new guys that joined the pack looking for you fought them off, for some reason they were able to scent your house and asked to have the house right next door so that’s where they are set up, the two houses on either side of you”

“Well that’s very comforting, Six set of eyes to watch my home” he laughs, it’s the first time I’ve heard him laugh in all my life “so you are capable of laughing too huh, that’s good to know”

“Roho, I mean Azelia I really am sorry, I do feel it more now that you’re far away from me, I do wonder and worry about you and if you’re being treated well, are you?”

“Yes I am just fine, had a few bumps in the beginning but things are okay now” I don’t think I should mention anything about the King because I honestly don’t know what it even is, I mean I find him gorgeous but, but what? There’s no but.

I finish up my conversation with my dad then put my phone on charge and find myself a comfy position to fall asleep.

My eyes open when I sense a presence in the room, when did I fall so deeply asleep that someone could sneak into my room, but I smell him, it’s the King again “little mate, I have come to lay with you”

My eyes widen, mate?! He just called me his mate! No! No! No! This can not be happening! I don’t want to be a Queen! I feel my bed dip and he slides slowly over to where I am and gently pull me into his arms kissing the back of my neck “you smell so good I can eat you!” he growls dangerously low.

And it does things to my body, I fight the urge to shiver from the sound of his voice and his proximity to my ear, but soon enough I feel his breathing slow and his light snoring let’s me know he’s fallen asleep and I soon join him in slumber cocooned in his scent.

I roll over as I can feel that the sun has risen but the other side of the bed is empty, it still smells like him which means it hasn’t been too long since he left, I suppose he doesn’t want to be seen coming out of my room.

I can’t believe it, he called me his mate, me! I don’t want to be anyone’s mate! I will finish my training and get back to my pack, I have no wolf so it will not affect me.
