Chapter 13

I give a quick bow because it felt right and scurried after her " you know Red, if you don't want me in your house I'd be more than happy to tell Alpha I'd stay here " " oh be quiet and drive " we drove to what I would call the outskirts and pulled up to a house, I must say for the kind of person and the way she carries herself this is not what I expected her house to look like.

" Stop judging my home, and let's go in " I grabbed my bags and followed her onto the porch, she was about to turn the lock when she sighed and hung her head, she signalled for me to stand to the side and pushed the door open and stepped out of the way and out sprang this big guy while Two other voices inside shouted " SURPRISE!! " " Red, did you really have to dodge me like that? " " look at your big a** and look at me guy, you tryna crack my head on the porch or something? " " I'd never let you get hurt Red you know that " she smiled then glanced at me and it's as though everyone was just noticing me for the first time.

" Who're you? " " this is Beau, your dad bamboozled me so he will be staying here with me " a collective " whaaaaaaat " is heard through the house, the other guy comes forward and eyes me up and down " welcome to the pack Beau, I must say you smell kind of familiar but I know we haven't met before or have we? " " no I can't say we have, I've got a pretty good memory and you are no where in here and thank you for the welcome " " come on kid, let me show you to your room " " please stop calling me that Red, I'm not a kid " " get used to it Beau, until you can earn Reds respect that's what you're gonna be called " I sigh and follow her she leads me past the living room to a room, it's nicely sized and has it's own bathroom, the bed it huge so a lot of room for me.

" This is you, I'm upstairs, you have absolutely no reason to be upstairs as everything you could possibly need is down here, comprende? " " comprende " " bien, I'll leave you to settle in while I make us something to eat " I nod and she leaves, closing the door behind her.

I sit and fall back onto the bed and close my eyes, I have so many questions, is my mom still alive, I guess I was wrong in thinking I was abandoned, from what mom told me, she had just given birth to me and gave me up so I could live and ran back to what I can assume was a werewolf attack, I have no idea how I'd begin to investigate something that happened Eighteen years ago and look for a woman whose name I don't even know, Eighteen, that's going to be me soon and from that point on things will change for me.

No point in moping around about it, I get my bags and begin unpacking and putting my things into the walk in closet and others into the dresser draws, by the time I'm done with everything there's a knock on the door, I open and it's the second guy who's come to tell me Red's finished cooking and it's time to eat.

I follow the guy into the kitchen and almost drool at the smell and look of the food, his siblings are already seated and Red is placing more food in the middle of the island bar as we walk in " all settled? " " yes I am thank you " " good, now that my mind is clear and settled as well, I can do introductions, this is Ivan, Joao and Ember Woods, they're my best friends and the Alpha children with Ivan being the next Alpha as the first born " " nice to meet you all " " you too Beau " " sit, let's eat I'm sure you have questions, we will answer as much as we could, as best as we could when our stomachs are full, please help yourselves "

Everyone digs in and Ember moans when she takes her first bite into her food, Red made Lasagna, Mashed Potatoes, Veggies and Steak " gosh Red your food is always so damn good, to the point that I can't even eat at the packhouse or restaurants and truly enjoy it because in my mind, I'm always comparing what I eat to your cooking " " I appreciate the compliment Em now be quiet and eat, because who finishes first helps the others you know that! " I chuckle as she scuffles down her food so her brothers won't rob her of her share.

Red shakes her head while hiding her smile, I'm sure she's just teasing but from the way she's wolfing her food down I'm guessing she's had that happen to her before, more than once too, very amusing.

Once we all finish eating, us guys cleaned up the kitchen and joined Red and Ember on the back porch.
