Chapter 165

“Point taken just keep your eyes open for the sprite and give them the recipe, not the original obviously, so if anything we can make them from both sides, the more we have the better our chances!”

He turns away from me and was about to leave and I was about to get back to helping “hey Ty” I turn back to him “I know it’s been long overdue, I was so ashamed of myself that I didn’t know to come to you but I just want to say I’m sorry man, truly sorry for the way I behaved and how I spoke to you, it was not cool of me at all, I apologize”

“It’s all good man, consider it water under the bridge” we bump fists and he goes off to help the others as well.

I exhale and get back to my job, my dad is on the other side helping to set up the perimeter around the hellfire when there is an earthquake, it’s so strong that it cracks the castle, a large plume of fire shoots up from the hellfire *boom!* a large creature lands shaking itself and looking around wildly, it looks deformed, I can’t put words to it, it sends its tongue out like a snake then crouches down before leaping off and that’s when hell broke loose.

When it landed it multiplied and now there’s Three of it, the guards shift and so do I after shouting at the others “keep at it, getting the stations together!” I shift into my Lycan form and attack the closest one to me, it makes a swipe at Hunter and it’s claw gashed us fk! It’s burning away my fur and my skin! I send out a general mind link ‘don’t make it scratch you, it’s got some sort of acid in it’s claws!’

They try to attack while dodging the claws, it stretches it tongue and bores through one of my guards, catching him through his shoulder nailing him to a tree and we all watch in horror as his life fades away from him and he turns black as ash from the spot he was damaged out.

What the hell are we up against? They zip pass us like a breeze and in no time all Three of the creatures drop dead and headless on the ground, their bodies dragged and dropped into the hell fire, the Sprite then takes the guards’ body from the tree and was about to throw him into the fire too.

“What are you doing?! He’s one of my people!”

“Apologies King but this person is now an undead and we can not let him remain here, he will come back and kill you all if we leave him here” then they resumed their notion of throwing him into the fire.

“But throwing them into the hellfire isn’t like sending them down only for them to return?”

“The fire may act as a gateway for them to rise to the surface but once they are dear, the very same fire will be their end, there will be no chance of resurrection”

“There is something I want to share with you, my mates notes” Cory brings the paper and the Sprite lean in to read the paper, I am surrounded by Six of them looking down at the paper “is your mate a healer?” “no, she’s not but she is friends with a White Witch who I suppose taught her these things, do you think you’d be able to make these things?”

“Of course we will, I do believe the dousing serum may be able to help you with the fire but we will have to go and gather a few of these ingredients and come back” she takes hold of my hand and rubs a salve on it and the skin heals and closes up.

“But don’t you need the ingredients” they snicker “we have committed it to memory King there is no need for us to make a note of it, we will make them and bring them back” once again, they’re gone.

I turn to Cory “was he mated?” “no, he was not” I sigh “I do hope that his mate is given a second chance mate in life, have the herbalists begun gathering the ingredients to make the items?” “yes, they’re already on it” “okay, we need to get back to making the stations while the others get back to the perimeter” “okay”

We all get back to it but still keep our eyes on the flames “I think we need to get someone to seal up the cracks on the building” “I will get right to it your majesty” by the time we’re through it’s late evening, I can smell from the castle that bread is being made in the kitchen for dinner.

I walk into the kitchen and the kitchen staff are busy in there making dinner “what are you ladies doing out of the bunker?” “we are not about to let our men go hungry your majesty, it’s never going to happen!” she raises her voice but there’s tears in her eyes “we have spent so many years living in peace and now these people have decided to do such a thing again! Why can’t they just be satisfied with what they have rather than causing so much pain and destruction to others, to the innocent!”

She turns then hands me a plate with freshly baked bread, some ham and hash brown “go now you, take the food out and distribute it to the men, they must remain strong while they fight to protect us” the other ladies scurry out carrying baskets and trays of food, I pull her into a hug, “thank you” she pats me gently on the back.

“You are a great King my lord, and I know you are trying your best to be strong even though you are missing your Queen, I have missed her for the past few days and she’s not even my mate, be strong my King, she will return right when we need her most, there is no one as strong as our Luna Queen”

I smile as she turns and gets back to her cooking and checking the rest of her baked goods in the oven, I take my food to my floor and place them on the bedside table, I am so tired, I shower quickly and sit down on my balcony over looking the fire and watch as they guards and trainees gratefully take the food from the ladies and begin to eat.

I eat as well, slowly eating my food and my mind goes to my mate who is still sleeping soundly, I notice movement from the tree lines on my left and leap off from my balcony shifting mid air as a creature leaps from within the treeline aiming at the guards whose backs were turned to them.
