I will worry about that later “alright, you can lead an invasion, I will allow you to take One Hundred and Eighty of my army with you and the others will advance with me at the border”

“Fantastic, I will go and make ready”

She runs out of the throne room and Simon comes over to me “you’re not seriously going to go and get her soul back are you my lord?”

I can tell she is listening outside the door “a promise is a promise Simon, plus don’t you want Cass back?” I feel her presence move away from the door and I lean closer to him “of course I have no reason to keep that promise but we do have to find a way to separate her from Cass’s soul before I can get rid of her, she is too dangerous to keep around, if she’s like this now, imagine if she is made whole, there can only be one ruler and that is me, anyway go and make ready yourself, we will leave at dawn”

“Tabitha! Tabitha!”

Marco comes storming into the cabin breathless “what’s going on Marco?” , he pulls me away from the kitchen “you need to see this!” I allow him to pull me out of the cabin and I stagger as I look up at the sky “no, this can’t be happening! Not again! No, no, no” I stare at the sky in disbelief.

My eyes widen as I catch the scent on the wind, it’s light and very faint but I’d know it anywhere, I take Marco’s hand, “we need to gather the others, go hurry and tell them to meet me in the archive room as soon as possible!” “yes” he takes off running and I take another look at the sky as the dark spreads making the sky look as though it is in the stages of an eclipse, then head back into the cabin, I turn my stove off and make my way to the Willa Tree.

As I open the door and enter my thought floats to my baby “oh Sala, I pray to the Gods that you are okay and ready for that which is to come”

I enter the chamber that has my book of light and life, I truly never thought I’d need to use you again old friend but here we are once again, I take the book down from it’s resting place, I have not touched it since I placed it there all those years ago and there is not a speck of dust resting upon it.

I walk back to the reading room where the others are now gathered “wow you all gathered rather quickly, nicely done Marco” “what’s going on Tabitha?” I place the book down on the table, they look at it and back up at me “no, there’s no way!” “I am sorry but yes, the time has come again for us to go and help with the fight against the Nation”

“How can you expect that of us Tabitha?! Look at what happened last time we offered our help freely to them, we ended up having to be on the run, we are still in hiding right now! There is no way I am going to help those ungrateful wolves!”

“I am not here to force anyone to partake in the fight, even if I must go on my own I shall do so, I understand fully your resentment and reasoning but for me it is about much more than doing it for the wolves, it is for us as well as the rest of the world, we can not expect to be safe if the wolves are defeated and to make matters worse, I picked up on a scent in the wind, it was faint but I know that scent belongs to Reina the Darcrow”

“Reina? But that is impossible, she has been gone for so many years, you had to be mistaken Tabitha”

“Ruth, go outside and see for yourself, we shall wait” she gets up from where she was sitting and walks away from us, the rest of us sit and wait, after a few minutes she returns “she’s right, the scent is definitely Reina but judging from how faint it is she must not have her full power”

“That’s what I’m thinking too, we need to get to her and stop her before she reaches her full power, if she manages to get back to her true potential we may not survive, the White Lords had such a difficult time in capturing her and they are the best bounty hunters out there”

“I still think it is a mistake to get ourselves involved in this fight again but if Reina is involved then the likeliness of their winning is a lot smaller if we do not intervene plus I am certain she will come looking for us as well once she achieves whatever the heck it is she’s doing”
