Chapter 172

She opens a bag and stuffs her hand inside and rummages through it “take these, I would advice you to separate the rest of her core and place them within these boxes, she will never be able to escape and I would suggest keeping the pieces far away from each other where no other would be able to find them, nor would she be able to escape and make herself whole again”

I pipe in “wouldn’t it be better to just destroy it completely?”

“Destroying it would mean sending her to the underworld where it is possible for her to be summoned or call back by any dark entity which we naturally do not want, if she is capable of doing this with only a small fragment, then imagine if she becomes whole, the Gods seem to be on our side but first we need to stop this fire and work our way from there”

We all refocus our attention to the other witches who are still making their drawings around the fire when a large ball of light comes shooting from the left of us headed right towards them “RUN! THERE”S A FIRE BALL!” they all take off running in different directions and the explosion is massive as it hit the fire head on and causes some of the castle window to break.

“Here she comes, be ready” a few seconds later the woman comes raging in “GET AWAY FROM MY FIRE! HOW DARE YOU! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!” The Empress opens a portal right behind her and the Wards  go through , they reach out to grab her and she’s gone in a flash, she’s standing right by the fire looking at us “do you Wards think it will be so easy to catch me again?!” with that she’s gone once again.

Chaos ensues after she vanishes, creatures seem to over flow from the fire like roaches fleeing from light, we had some time to recuperate since their last attack, time to heal up and even time to eat, the ladies have remained within the castle so they could keep us fed, I truly do appreciate their contribution to our cause.

I am hurt, one of the creatures manages to pierce me on my right shoulder, that gave me the chance to sever it’s head, I’ve already began to heal but it’s not as quick as it usually would be because Hunter has been healing me so much that he’s running out of healing energy, I need to get to one of the stations to get some of the healing potions, we doubled up on their protective serum borders to keep the healers and sprites safe.

The Empress and more of the Elementals have come and joined the war, Alphas have called and offered to send back up but I declined because we just can’t be sure they would not use the opportunity to attack the packs but I’m beginning to think I should have accepted the offer “watch out!” someone shouts as some thing pierces me into my back and I drop in pain.

The Wards have gone to do as Tabitha suggested, they will return once they’ve completed that task and the Witches are also fighting, some are helping the herbalists try to finish the dousing serum to pour into the fire.

“THE KING IS DOWN! WE MUST HELP THE KING!” before anyone get’s the chance to come to my assistance, something jumps onto me scratching deep into my back and I howl out wreathing in pain but I will not give up, I try and manage to roll over and push the creature off of me, it turns out to be a rounce, the one their leader is riding.

He jumps down from the creatures back and walks over to me as I stagger to my feet “your reign ends here it would seem Alpha King” I muster up all my strength and launch myself at him and extend my claws slashing him across the face and chest before once again dropping to my knees.

“You son of a b*tch!” he shouts from behind me, “I will end you and mount your head on a stake!”

This is truly the end for me, I am sorry my mate but I will not be able to grow old with you my love, I resign myself to my fate as I sense him approach me, I am bleeding much too much for Hunter to heal us ‘it was an honour human’ I chuckle gravely ‘ the honour was all mine Hunt’

BOOM! A massive light explosion with a force so strong it pushes me and I fall back, I hear the enemy leader scream as his voice grows further and further away, there is a heat in the atmosphere and light a train, it hits me, her scent hits me and my eyes fly open.

She is looming over me her red hair and her entire being seems to be on fire, she looks down at me as though sensing my stare and smiles sadly at me “I am sorry I am late mate, but we are here now” her voice seems to echo all through the land “your Queen is here!” it sends shivers through me and howls of our people are heard all across the battle ground in rejoicing.
