Chapter 16 - A race between me, time and gravity

Amelia’s point of view:

“You should… since I’m not a mundane like you. I’m a wild animal.” Alejandro said. His voice was laced with a threatening dark tone.

A cold shiver traveled down my spine, sending goose bumps all over my exposed skin.

Yet, that didn’t stop me when I caught the mischievous glint flashing through his eyes. He was messing with me.

“I’m going to sleep. Don’t you dare follow me!” I warned him.

“But, I slept in your bedroom last night.” He immediately said.

“Not tonight.” I simply shrugged and crossed my arms across my chest.

“But -”

“No buts!” I turned my back on him and hurried upstairs.

“Where will I sleep?” I heard him shouting from behind.

“You can sleep on the couch!” I yelled back before closing my bedroom door.

Jumping into bed, I sighed in relief. Finally, some silence.

Closing my eyes, I heedlessly breathed in Alejandro’s scent which still lingered on my clothes from our tickle fight. It was strangely soothing that I fell asleep within a few seco
