"Who's she? Is that your chosen mate?" A kid asked.

It wasn't the pack members who were surrounding them. It was the kids from the pack.

Curiosity could be seen as clearly as the daylight in their eyes. They were so cute that Azariah's eyes filled up with awe.

She has always liked kids despite all the troubles they bring with them.

She knew that they could be hard to manage sometimes but her love for kids was just too much to not be able to tolerate their mischievousness.

"So, you like kids?" Ace asked once he noticed how adorably she was looking at them.

Azariah absentmindedly nodded her head and a smile touched Ace's lips.

"I like kids as well," he said and she again looked at his eyes.

Her late mate wasn't a kids person. He used to say that kids are really troublesome.

He was planning on not having any kids of their own. Something like this coming from her mate did broke her heart but since, she was so in love with him, she couldn't help but ignore this as well.

Not everyone was same and she was more than ok with respecting her mate's decision.

Ace wasn't a normal guy and him claiming to like kids was a surprising thing to her.

She couldn't believe that someone from the higher rank could actually like kids since her parents made it clear through their actions that they only gave birth to her because they needed an offspring.

That's why most of the kids from the higher rank was born, to continue the family legacy.

Azariah was genuinely surprised by Ace and a smile was playing on her lips after hearing him.

"This makes us two then," she said playfully and Ace was happy seeing her being playful with him.

He thought that she was going to take more time to open to him but surprisingly she was quickly opening up.

He doesn't know how long it will take for them to finally be like lovers but he was more than ok with being just friends with her for now.

He was satisfied as long as she was with him. Maybe that's what love does to you.

You do crave the person's presence more than their attention. It's ok if they don't give you a single moment of their time but them being in your eyesight matters the most.

Our eyes, soul and heart stays at peace while looking at them.

Them loving you doesn't matter as much as their presence does. We get happy with the slightest interaction. Them talking to us brings us utter joy and pleasure.

At the end of the day, they matter the most and hence, everything they do also matters the most.

Their eye contact broke when the kids started laughing.

They looked at them with a confused look.

"Ace, you are looking at her like you want to eat her with your eyes but not in a dangerous way. I heard people saying that someone gives such looks to another only if they are in love with that person. Are you in love with her?" One of them said.

Ace and Azariah both became red. Azariah because she still wasn't ready for all of these love.

She knew that as her mate, Ace deserves her love, attention and care. She knew that she could easily give him the last two but giving him the first was going to be a tough nut to crack.

She was still in love with her first mate. A lot was going inside of her head.

She was confused with her life and loving someone else in this state seems like a thing she can't do.

She was going to need time, she doesn't know for how long but she needs time.

On the other hand Ace was flushed because despite everything, she was his mate and he still hasn't confess his love towards her.

He also needs time to gather more courage to finally tell her how he feels. It was going to take time and he knew that Azariah also needs time.

He was going to give both of them some time. The kids teasing them was now putting them in a embarrassing situation.

They both were feeling like two teenagers who fell in love for the first time. All of these teasing were messing up with their heads.

"Why are you only pointing at him? She was giving him the same look," another said and Azariah's eyes widened.

She doesn't remember giving him such looks but then again, we can't see how we are looking at someone. It's something only the outsiders can see.

"Why are you kids talking so much? And why were you calling him Ace? He's the Alpha right?" She tired to change the topic with a strict look but she was looking anything but strict.

"You are really cute. You are perfect for our Alpha. Oh, I already ship you both," one girl said while joining.

She looked like she was around 7 years old.

"I know right, she is trying to change the topic because it makes her go all blushy-blushy," another kid said who looks like he is barely five years old.

Azariah was shocked by how fast these kids were. They seem to know everything and they don't even hesitate to speak up what they are feeling.

That's the thing she likes the most about kids. If they like you then they will say that in your face and if they don't like you, they won't hesitate to voice out that either.

They can be brutal honest and hurt others with their feelings but at least, we know what they are saying is the truth.

As hurtful as it is, Azariah prefers to hear the bitter truth rather than the sweet lies.

She also loves how kids are so adorable. They look like they don't have any ideas about this cruel world and enjoy their lives like they are never going to die.

"We call him by his name because we like him. He is so much more than just his title. Alphas are scary according to others but he is fun to be around. He is our friend and we call our friends by their names," another little kid said.

His words weren't clear and he could barely pronounce a few words but they seem to catch all of them.

His cheeks were really chubby and Azariah wanted to eat him alive due to his cuteness.

She also liked how the kid expressed himself. It also proves that Ace didn't lie when he said that he likes kids.

Had he lie, the kids won't have known him. He spends time with them and that's why they consider him a friend.

She couldn't help but imagine Ace as a father, changing the diapers of their kids.

The scene in her head was adorable yet funny. She couldn't help but chuckle alone.

Everyone was giving her weird looks. They were looking at her like she has lost her mind.

"Why are you chuckling alone? Could it be that your inner wolf is really funny and always cracks amazing jokes?" The same kid said.

"No dear, I was just thinking about something. My inner voice is funny and so is my imagination. I often laugh alone because I crack someone inner joke to myself that stays between me and me," Azariah said with a wink at the end.

Even though the kids didn't get understand a single thing she said, they thought that her wink was cool.

Hence, they ignored everything she said and was requesting her to wink again.

She became busy while fulfilling their requests. The driver left from there after getting Ace's permission.

Azariah became busy with the kids. Ace understood that she needs some time to forget everything and enjoy her life.

Hence, he didn't bother telling her to join him in the room to take rest. Her mental health was more important at that moment.

He didn't want to leave her alone. He also stood by her side, watching her have fun with the kids.

The smile on her lips was giving him peace. He couldn't help but think how beautiful she looks while smiling.

He bought out his phone and took a few candids of her with the kids.

A few kids noticed what he was doing but they didn't bother stopping him. They were obviously on his side.

The kids were introducing her to new games that she doesn't remember playing before. She was enjoying herself so much that for moments, she forgot the existence of Ace, her family, her pack and everything else related to the outer world.

They say that playing with the kids helps one feel relaxed and she was the live proof of this. She was feeling relaxed.

Only when the kids parents came to take them back, did they realize that it was really late.

They came to this pack after night set and she was playing with them for over one hour.

When the kids left, Azariah looked at her left and saw Ace standing.

Her eyes widened and she came back to the reality and an apologetic look took over her face.

"I am extremely sorry. I totally forgot about your existence. The kids are so fun to be around that I -" she was cut off in the middle by his finger that lands on her lips.

"Sh, you don't have to apologize. I totally get it and believe me when I say that I also end up forgetting about time while I am with the kids," he said with a smile and only then Azariah breath in relief.

"So, do you want to go in now or not? I don't mind spending the night here standing either," he said with a teasing smile.

She gave him a shy smile and started walking only to look back at him with an embarrassing look.

"What happened?" He asked, worried about why her face became red all of a sudden.

"I don't know the way to your home. I am new here, remember?"

He made a 'oh' face with his lips.

"Worry not, I am ready to be your guide. All you have to do is follow my lead," he said started to walk but stopped all of a sudden.

He looked at his back and saw that she was following him.

"Why did you stop? Is there any problem?" She asked with a cute frown.

"Yes, there is," he said with a super serious look that made her a little worried.

"And what's that?"

"You are walking behind me."

"That's because you told me to follow your lead. I am just following your words," she said.

"You can follow my lead while walking next to me as well."

"And how so?" She asked with a confused look.

"By this," he said while taking her hands in his.

"We can walk together and I can lead you to the roads that are unknown to you and you can lead me to the roads that are unknown to me. In this way, we both would never get lost," he said with a smile and at that moment she couldn't help but thank the moon goddess.

She can't remember the last time she thanked the moon goddess but she does remember cursing her for all of problems she gave her.

When her first mate died, she couldn't help but cry bitterly and blame the moon goddess for everything.

She was never satisfied with her life. How could she? The love of her life was snatched away from her life just like this.

In this two years, she literally forgot about the existence of moon goddess but after he came in her life, it's as if her life has taken a new turn.

A lot of new things are happening to her and surprisingly, they are good.

She was now satisfied.
