“How in the world did all the white flowers go missing?” Selena was baffled. Apparently the flowers meant for some part of the decoration went missing. making the decoration lack the taste she wants.

“I don't know ma'am.” The staff replied. Selena was annoyed by this but she didn’t want to ruin her mood further. Once she got her phone she placed a call to her trusted flower guy, Selena turned to the staff.

“In five minutes it would be here” She said as she turned and started giving orders to other of her staff. One was trying to fix up a light but she wasn't doing it right so Selena asked her to come down the stool so she could fix it herself.

However, her action had caught the attention of some men in the room. They suddenly paid attention to her and found her really beautiful.

“Who is that woman? She’s so brazen and stunning.” They whispered among each other.

At the same time, the children arrived and realized those men were staring at their mother.

The kids quickly rushed over to her side protectively. Harper and Harrison shot warning glares to the men who stared at their mother. So did Henry and Hazel.

Selena climbed down the stool and turned her attention to the staff.

“Go check on other things and ensure everything is alright ” She said and the staff nodded before rushing away. 

Another took the stool off with him. The problem was solved.

“Mama, look, those ugly men are staring at you.” Henry pouted.

“If you want to, we can take care of them for you. We know Karate, mama! We can make sure they never look at you ever again!” Harper said with the cutest, most innocent face, but those words were pretty terrifying.

“Yes, mama, we will protect you.” Harrison said, as Hazel nodded in agreement, Selena was so deeply touched and moved by them. She gave them each a kiss on the cheek and squeezed their cheek lightly afterward.

“Thank you for always looking out for me. But mama is the one who’s meant to take care of you babies.” She reminded them.

“When you’re a bit older, then you can start to take very good care of me, okay” Yes, she knew. The children were always a bit peculiar. They were always into martial arts, especially Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Selena always believed she should support her children’s hobbies and interests, but there were times when she thought they were acting more mature than their age. They reminded her so much of Alexander . Lots of their interests and hobbies were similar to his. Not only were they into martial arts, they were also into complicated subjects like science and business at such a young age.

These children could learn things faster than other children. When others their age were supposed to walk, they were already running.

“My angels. You should go back to check on Aunt Vivian first, I still have some things to take care of here.” She told them.

“Okay mama!” They replied almost at the same time. Once again, Harper grabbed his siblings hand and they ran off. However, mid-way, their steps stopped at the same time. Their gaze was fixated on an individual.

It only lasted for a few seconds before they ran off again, leaving the room.

“Ah, I’m thirsty.” Selena said as she walked over to the water section when someone suddenly bumped to her. She was wearing high heels and the force was enough to knock her down. When she thought she was about to fall down, she bumped into a hard chest.

She could smell a warm, boozy rum and woody scent from this man.

Selena turned around and saw a familiar face she had wished to forget. The face that has brought the worst and best things in her life… Alexander  Lancaster.

No way! Alexander , why is he here!? She started panicking inside.

After all these years, she couldn’t believe she would see him again. Especially not by sheer coincidence. She had  avoided this man at all cost, so why did God allow her to meet him again? It felt like a cruel joke.

The man was drinking with Chloe earlier, but she kept on talking to the others, he eventually became bored and decided to look around instead. It was then when he saw the woman falling and he caught her before it happened. 

Alexander stood her properly. And they were still in close proximity.

“Are you okay?” He asked her. Their eyes met. Selena didn’t know how to react. the memories of what happened seven years ago returned to her at once.
