เข้าสู่ระบบKNOX'S POV We found strange cells that shouldn't be in a human organ and I'm afraid it's not so good.” He shook his head as he spoke, still looking down on his papers, flipping page by page. “I've never seen something like this madam.” He added, squinting his eyes on his paper. “Ohh my God, am I gonna die!” Sable cried out. I hurried towards her before she could be done. “Of course not darling, you will be fine.” I added. The doctor took a closer step to us, pausing a few feet away with a straight face on. “We can't be certain of anything madam, but we have to conduct further tests to verify what we found in your cells and that of the baby.” He added. He slowly turned his gaze to me before speaking. “And you too Mr Darian, we have to be sure it's not a transmittable disease. I scoffed out loudly but paused mid air, judging by the confused look in his eyes. He just called being a wolf a transmittable disease. “The nurse would come direct you both to the laboratory in ten min
KNOX'S POV I walked into the room and found Sable seated on the bed. That wasn't supposed to happen, or at least, not now. She was meant to be unconscious. Like the doctor said she would be, and like I'd made myself believe just minutes ago. I stood frozen in amusement while I stared right at her. Just a while ago, I thought things had gotten way worse than it already was, I thought I would die of guilt. I'd taken time out of her side to put myself together after the doctor told me of her situation. It was a hard pill to swallow. He said the baby was fine, but it wouldn't remain so if its mother remained unconscious and that sent a chill through me. I couldn't believe my reckless behavior was about to cost me the woman I loved and my unborn child. I knew I could never forgive myself for that. I only returned after a while of trying to gather myself together, I knew I shouldn't leave her all by herself and had to hurry back, and there she was, sitting and staring at me like I
ALPHA BRYN'S POV The truth hit me like a sharp needle pierced into my chest and with every word that came out from Dax's mouth, I felt the pain go deeper and deeper until I could hardly breathe. Or maybe it was I who'd unintentionally held my breath as I listened to him speak. He loved it, the impact his words had on me, the look on my face and certainly the way mum begged him to stop speaking. He only went on and on until I could handle it no more. That was it. I shut my eyes firmly as I took in a deep relieving breath. “It's okay Dax, I don't wanna hear anymore.” I mumbled, my tone a bit draggy and my voice shaky. I tried so much to bury my emotions, but it seemed like an impossibility. “Are you sure about that?” Dax asked with a sheepish grin on his face while he leaned forward into the chair. “He said he doesn't wanna hear you speak again, leave him the fuck alone!” Mum yelled out impatiently. Dax turned his gaze reluctantly towards her before slowly looking back at me.
SABLE'S POV I had expected chaos, but not as bad as it turned out to be. The last thing I remember was feeling a heavy pang of headache after screaming out so loudly that I thought for a second I might lose my voice afterwards. And now, pulling my eyes open, I found myself in a completely unfamiliar environment with unfamiliar voices echoing from a distance. I didn't stop for a moment to think about where I was, if I'd actually lost my voice, if the severe headache I'd felt moments ago led to the loss of my life and if this was some kind of underworld or something. All I could think about was Knox. I wanted to know how it all ended, if he got attacked by Dax or if my voice was loud enough to get them both to stop. I doubt that was it judging by how heated the argument turned out to be. I got scared, really scared once Knox lost it. I stared at him with a bewildered gaze while his claws sprouted out. I watched Dax slowly shift into his wolf self. It was only beginning. The
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?ALPHA BRYN'S POV The council hall was already void of people by the time Alpha Knox was out of it. I watched each and every member of the council slowly trail off to the exit, their footsteps visibly begging I not to summon them back. Well, I guess the dramas had become a bit too much for them to handle. Once the last person walked out of the room and the door slammed shut, mum picked herself from her chair after being silent for a long time. I didn't understand the reason behind her suddenly becoming so reserved. Maybe it was the scene Knox had pulled right in front of us all, or maybe it was way before then, but in all, she had grown cold all of a sudden. I leaned back into my chair as I watched her take hasty steps towards Dax. He stood nonchalantly, peering right at the door with a smirk on his face. He seemed not to have realized mum was approaching him or maybe he did but decided to act otherwise. “That was quite a romantic show off don't you
KNOX'S POV I know I said I didn't give a fuck about what the pack turned into. I know I said all I wanted was Sable's safety and that of the baby. I know that a while ago, all I had at the back of my mind was taking the love of my life and disappearing from this God forsaken pack….But all that changed in a second. I no longer wanted out, I wanted to be part of it.I suddenly felt like the healing our pack needed. Call me selfish, you are right. Call me overly ambitious, you are also right. But there was no way I was gonna sit back and watch Bryn bring Black pine reach to its ruin. I hate to say, but Bryn's a fucking corward. Maybe Dax wasn't wrong, At least not about Bryn being a coward. But I couldn't stand the fact he'd generalized it. He'd looked down at us all. The pack, our elders, our rulership. He'd looked down on all of it. I thought for a second that I could hold it in, that I could watch Dax make a mockery of us all and do nothing, but I couldn't. I moved be
~SableBefore I could even process the noise.. the room was full of them... large grim-faced men in suits that did nothing to hide their thick necks and rude attitudes.I gasped, scrambling upright and clutching the soft white sheet to my chest. It was the only thing between me and total nudity.“W
~SableUp close with the stranger, the shadows melted away and my bravado almost did too.Holy shit..!The man was… fucking handsome! Like, stop-your-heart-and-then-kick-it-into-overdrive handsome. He was older, maybe early forties with little crinkles at the corners of his eyes that suggested he’
~Sable“Sable! You get your scrawny ass back here, you little fucking shit! What the fuck are you up to now!”The scream rang far behind me into the night as I ran.The night was harshly cold with the cold air filling my lungs at every gasp but it was nothing compared to the sound of Corvin’s voice
CHAPTER 4: ComplicationsSable's POVThe air vanished from my lungs the moment I met his eyes.. It wasn't just his size though he was enormous. It wasn't even the inhuman, gold-flecked glow in his eyes, though that was seriously freaky. It was the sheer crushing weight of his presence that hit me
