Naomi Thunderstorm, a werewolf from the Emerald Moon pack, was unaware of the cause of her parent's deaths and as a result, was turned into a maid overnight in the Gold pack. Gabriel Marshall, the most popular and loved of all the quadruplets of the Gold pack, thanks to the moon goddess, was mated to Naomi whom he had been having compassion for. He rejected her when he found out they were mates but the story is just getting started. What happens when Gabriel’s quadruplet brothers all return and are interested in her? What happens when unforeseen circumstances take Naomi from them?

I was the rare Beta who bloomed late, a tale that fluttered through the community faster than butterflies on a summer breeze. Naomi, the late bloomer—that was the moniker that stuck. My first shift arrived at the age of twenty, a searingly painful experience that I'd never forget. Yet amidst the agony, a revelation eased my suffering: I was destined to be mated to the Marshall quadruplets.
I was beyond thrilled; the quadruplets were simply irresistible. Each of them possessed a distinctive trait known only to them. Handsome and tall, they commanded attention with their varied shades of hair and eyes—it was impossible to look away. Every one of them was Alpha Alex Marshall's son, inheriting the formidable legacy of being part of the Gold pack, led by the most powerful alpha in Rio.
"Hey, good morning!" Malia greeted me with a warm smile, the kind that always made my day brighter. She was that one friend who stood by me when everyone else seemed to neglect my presence.
"Morning, Malia," I replied, mirroring her warm smile.
"Have you heard the latest news?" she asked as I shrugged, picking up the mop to start my daily chores.
"What news, Malia?" I inquired, rolling my eyes playfully, eager to hear the gossip she was about to share.
"Did you know one of the young masters left because his mate was wolfless!" Malia shouted, her excitement evident as she passed along the intriguing piece of information.
"What—keep your voice down! Goddess! Someone might hear you!" I exclaimed, rushing to her and covering her mouth, scanning our surroundings to ensure no one was approaching.
"What?! I’m not lying. It's the hottest news in the palace. I wonder how you of all people don't know!" she raised her voice again.
"Malia! Please. Just try and keep your voice down! You know how others can be. I don't want to be in their circle again. You of all people should know you're not always there to take my punishment," I urged, my worry apparent.
"But I still treat your wounds," she replied, looking adorable, a reminder of her unwavering friendship.
"His name is Logan—Beta Logan, and I heard he's very handsome. I've seen his pictures in one of the catalogs," she added, excitement still evident in her whispers as we both began mopping the palace hallways and exchanging gossip in hushed tones.
"Thank the goddess you have a mate who's coming to pick you up. Stop crushing on the young master and get your head straight," I replied, playfully nudging her head with the mop handle. Our banter was interrupted as we heard others' voices, prompting us to quickly separate and attend to our chores separately.
Immediately as the other maids entered, they didn't bother to greet me and hissed past me, their disdain palpable. It was clear that I was the target of their animosity, and Malia tried to distance herself from me whenever they were around, careful to keep our friendship a secret.
"Hey, Malia. Come here," I heard them call, piquing my interest. I paused in my moping, hiding behind the door, straining to listen to their conversation.
"Did you know that Beta Gabriel will be the next Alpha king?" one of my colleagues said to Malia, whose eyes widened in surprise. I continued to eavesdrop, still an outsider in their circle, never privy to their secrets, and always wondering why they harbored such intense hostility towards me.
"Since his brother Logan decided to live with his wolfless mate in the human world, his father was discussing with his councils to hand over to him," another colleague of mine added, sharing the intricate details of pack dynamics.
"But he can't be an Alpha without having his mate, remember?" Malia inquired, her curiosity evident. The colleague she asked scoffed, and I watched their expressions closely from my hidden vantage point.
"Are you saying you don't know that the Moon goddess mated him to the late bloomer?" one of my colleagues asked Malia, who shook her head in denial.
"How did you know all this? We mustn't say this anywhere. It can implicate us all, remember he has a girlfriend." Malia replied cautiously, emphasizing the need for secrecy.
I smiled to myself, recalling the brief but captivating encounter I had with Beta Gabriel last night. It had been a short but intriguing interaction, leaving me feeling a sense of happiness. I silently expressed my gratitude to the moon goddess for this unexpected connection. However, my thoughts were interrupted when the head of the maids barged in, causing everyone to scatter in a rush.
"I need you all here now!" she shouted, prompting me to quickly drop the mop I was holding and hurry outside, feigning ignorance about being Gabriel's fated mate.
"Today is a free day for us all. I forgot to tell you that yesterday. I'm sorry," the head of maids apologized before delivering further instructions.
"But today is not free for the late bloomer. You will be the one to clean the young master's room. Beta Gabriel. Let's go, everyone."
Laughter and mockery filled the air from the other maids, except for Malia, who seemed reluctant to leave me behind. However, the boss's stern voice forced her to join the others.
"Anyone who helps her will be rolled up in a mat and will be given a hundred strokes of the cane!" the head of maids declared fiercely, solidifying my isolation.
I felt a sense of happiness despite the challenges, for I had always yearned to encounter Gabriel again. Nolly, my wolf, danced around in joy, thrilled that we had found a mate.
"He's going to love us, right?" Nolly asked, her excitement palpable once the surroundings were quiet.
"Nolly? I don't know. Let's hope he does," I replied, hoping for the best and trying to maintain a positive outlook on the situation.
I was on my way to his room when I met his father. Alpha Alex.
"Good morning, Alpha." I greeted him with a warm smile
"Good morning, Naomi. Are you doing alright? How is the headache?" Alpha Alex beamed and asked with genuine concern.
"I am well, Alpha, Thank you for asking."
Alpha Alex returned the smile but remained quiet.
I bowed with a smile and left his presence sensing his eyes still on me while I walked away. On getting to Beta Gabriel's door I knocked but there was no response.
“Hello? Young master, can I come in?” I asked but there was no response. I was about to enter when Nolly, my inner wolf, spoke.
'Our Mate, Our Mate,' Nolly, my wolf, purred in my mind, dancing with excitement.
"Nolly, stop that. You can sense a mate, yet you can't collaborate with me so I can wolf out huh?" I cautioned, and Nolly fell silent.
I heard his footsteps becoming closer, I wanted to flee due to what I heard my colleagues say earlier but I remembered I’ve been ordered to clean his room.
As I lifted my head, my heart swelled with anticipation, but it sank as I locked eyes with Gabriel. His usually warm, dark green eyes now held an unsettling darkness.
“Our mate doesn't like us,” Nolly whimpered in distress, retreating within herself.
The sense of rejection stung, and I struggled to find the words to address the sudden shift in Gabriel's demeanor.
"Mate, my foot. The moon goddess must be crazy for mating me to a late bloomer," he spat, his words cutting deep. My heart grew even heavier.
Beta Gabriel had always been kind and polite to me, but now the story had taken a cruel twist since the moon goddess had revealed our destined bond.
"I am sorry, your grace..." I began, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Shut up. You only talk when I give you the chance, is that understood?" he spat rudely, his disdainful glare penetrating my soul.
The pang in my heart grew, and I struggled to comprehend why the moon goddess would pair me with a man who despised and loathed me simply for being a late bloomer—something beyond my control.
Helplessly, I nodded my head as he advanced, cornering me until my back pressed against the wall. His cold, unfeeling gaze paralyzed me with fear, and I braced for what seemed to be an impending nightmare. Little did I know that his words would wound him as well.
"I, Gabriel, the soon-to-be Alpha of the Gold pack. I cannot have a late bloomer as my mate. Who knows, maybe it will take you forever to bear me a child. I, Gabriel Marshall, reject you, Naomi Thunderstorm, as my destined mate."
As the weight of his rejection settled in, he groaned, and I could see the pain etched across his face, his eyes glowing darker. He held onto his composure, but it was evident he was suffering. Before long, he burst into laughter, a hysterical sound that echoed in the room.
"It's your turn now, late bloomer. Accept it, or do I have to force you?" he snarled, I bit my bottom lip, fighting back the tears that threatened to pour. At this moment, facing this side of him, I realized I no longer wanted to be his mate either.
Naomi's POV My mate explained everything to me as fast as he could and in front of everyone. He knew she needed to sleep around him so he could monitor what she said. He had a lot of sleepless nights but he finally was able to carry it out. They found my sons but they kept them hidden from everyone including me. Hunter was only acting to have her close so she would trust him due to her love. He even made her send off her guards. But unfortunately, they were dead and gone. They were rogue wolves and all they deserved was death. Outsiders were not allowed in the pack. Malia was not able to recall sending them off because Hunter mate sent them off when she was asleep. All this while I thought I was being abandoned by my own I loved not knowing all he was doing was trying to save me the troubles. He was fighting and strategizing in the secret room to defeat the enemy. I smacked this hand playfully with a pout. “Why did you not tell me?” I asked “Malia had her spies everywhere. I did
Naomi's POV I never thought a day like this would ever exist. No one informed me of this happening today and in fact, it did not matter. If they had told me, it would not have changed my mind on the issue. I do not want my mate to be married to anyone else and most especially not Malia. I was close to not attending. I did not want to attend it. Why should I be in attendance? To give my position to that person who did not deserve it? The one person that wanted to watch me be humiliated in front of everyone. I just cannot. I was not going to give my position to a woman that I cannot trust. “She must attend” Malia said to Hunter in front of me “I do not want to” I said, firmly She scoffed and walked away without another word. “Naomi, please attend” Hunter said “Why should I attend? I can't watch you get married to some other lady, Hunter. Don't you see I'm in pain” I tried to explain to him but it fell on deaf ears “Naomi, I know you do not like what is going on but you have to att
Naomi's POV I sat at the back of the building crocheting. I was not so good but I rather do something with my hands or I do not think I would be able to resist, punching Malia until she lost consciousness. It had been days now and she was still at the mansion and I was yet to see my sons. I have not spoken with Hunter either. He loved being around Malia. He went on romantic walks as Malia called it. She made a show to show off during those walks. Not many people cared about them. They were thinking about getting back to their feet after the war and not working at the alpha and his newfound lover. I was being patient with Hunter. He needed to snap out of whatever was going on with him on his own. I could not do anything because Malia was always around him and touching him so much I could hardly stand it. I am still trying to understand what was the point of all of this. If truly I was losing my husband, then I should be able to hold my children. My husband was not there then my chil
Naomi's POV If shocked had a higher word… I was that. Hunter agreed to her plans. Did he hear her properly? She was asking that I be demoted to the rank of ordinary wife to him. I was his wife and his mate. I deserved to be Luna. Not an outsider. He could have tried to negotiate another way. Discarding me was going to give her the chance to walk on me without minding that I too was his wife. He could not look me in the eyes after doing that. He kept dodging my eyesight. Angry, I left the living room, walked up the stairs, and went into my room. I plopped on the bed, my leg going up and down in anxiety. He should have negotiated another way. Not accept her biddings. Would he allow her to mock me more than this in the near future? The door opened and I raised my head to have a look at who it was. I turned my head to the side, ignoring him. Hunter took off his jacket, placed it on the chair then approached me on the bed. He took position at the side I was looking at but I turned to th
I I walked back to my pack feeling assured that my plan had worked. I knew Alpha Silver was taken back and was still in shock about Emilia coming for his head. I laughed hysterically as I walked back into my room. I entered to see that Emilia was gone. " Emmy, are you in there?" I said walking towards the bathroom. "Where the hell is that bitch?" I said in frustration. I looked around and still couldn't find her. I went into the bathtub to have my bath. I heard the door creak open " Is that you, Emilia?" I shouted from the bathroom. Emily immediately came into the bathroom taking off her clothes. " Can I join you?" she saw with a smile " Of course, I checked when I got back and you were gone. Did you go somewhere?" I asked looking at her Emilia was good at hiding things from me I wonder how I was able to know she was planning my demise. Emilia looked at me and I knew she was going to have to lie to my face "Oh, I quickly went out for a walk. I needed to get some groceries too sin
Naomi's POV We finally had him. He surrendered. Even though it had to take the fall of most of the people first before he chose to do it, we still chose to give him a chance. If he was ready to repent and let go of all the bygones then we were ready to accept him with our full chest. However, he would have to be locked up first. Logan chose to take him. But no one expected what happened next. Malvin took out a dagger and stabbed Logan in his arm. We were a few steps away so before we could get to him, Malvin held Logan's head and took his sword to his head. “I am not playing with either of you. It's either you step down or you lose someone. I am not joking” Malvin said with his eyes wide with anger I turned to Hunter and then to the other men. Logan did not try to fight or stop Malvin. He held his arm with a frown on his face. “Are you doing as I asked?” Malvin yelled Logan had enough of this man, he pulled out the dagger and slit his wrist. The one that held the sword he had. Log
Naomi's POVI knew what I had to do. I ran fast with Conor moving beside me. I knew I was stretching him a bit further than he could but I had to push him. We were in danger. We had struggled to get to the end of the hallway but before we took the next hallway, I looked above my shoulder.Only to freeze when I saw what was happening. Hunter stood up with great effort. I could see it but just before he could recover from his throw, a larger man approached him. His sword was ready to dive into Hunter. Hunter stood frozen when the blade got to his stomach.I stretched my hand but then I was shocked to see the man freeze too. We all turned our gaze to the side and a little lower. My boys! I glanced at Conor and he left my hand and ran back to help his brothers. I moved slowly due to shock. My three sons were actually holding down a hefty man. A man six times their height. Even six times meant to be stronger than them but they were able to hold him down. The man kept trying to hit Hunter
Naomi's POVMy eyes instantly filled with tears as I shut it close. Weakness washed over me as I was gripped with fear and pain. My son. I wanted to scream but I paused my lips to stop it. I could not cry. These people should never see me cry but my heart ached.I wanted to tell them. They should have been patient. I would have told them. I knew it was wrong to do so. But if that was to save all of them. I would have begged Malvin. Maybe he would have compassion. He was close to them when things were good.He would be compassionate. That was what I had in mind. But now one of my sons is gone. My body shook with both pain and fear. This was just the beginning. We might lose so many of us. I found it hard to open my eyes. The fear of looking into the eyes of my Hunter. To stare at Conor's lifeless body. I could hear his voice calling me mama. I could still hear his laughter. I could hear his pouting voice when his brothers acted wrongly around him or to him.In my mind's eye, I pictured
Hunter's POVI could not let them win, could I? I kept asking this question while I stared at them. I knew everyone in the room knew I was not strong enough. Aside from the fact that I was covered in blood which could be a result of killing other people, my blood was still gushing out like an open stream.I knew they wanted to have a hold on us. And they actually do. My heart aches watching my son look frightened. My appearance was not what scared him but the man who kept on holding his neck. There was not an iota of conscience in his eye as he held a three-year-old without minding the fear. The man kept telling me to drop my sword. I could not do it. That was my only vantage point. I could not hold a punch. The only thing I had was this sword to cut the arm off or end the person. A fight without weapons on my end was going to end me at this rate.I glanced at Naomi. She pleaded with me with her eyes to do as the man said but she was just frightened. Maybe I could do it. Maybe I could
