Orin’s Pov

My body ached with every movement, yet when she came running toward me— her eyes filled with panic and I forgot the pain.

Her eyes were dark, almost black, but when the light caught them, they shone like stormy seas that were deep and restless holding on to me like I was the only thing in the world. Her face was soft and pale, her lips were full and parted but trembling a little, like she had forgotten how to close them.

Her hair was dark, long and thick, braided in places but with loose strands falling around her face. Her nose was straight and small, her jaw sharp but not harsh, and her skin looked smooth as if untouched by scars.

She was not dressed like a queen or a warrior, but there was something in the way she looked that made her look stronger than both. Even the way she moved, the tilt of her head, the way her chest rose and fell— it was magnetic.

I wanted to memorize every motion, every breath and every detail.

Gods… it was soft and clean, with a hint of something wild underneath, something that made my chest tighten and Veythar claw to the surface.

Every part of her felt burned into me and it made it hard for me to look away.

By the gods… she was beautiful and she had run to me.

I tilted my head, letting my lips curve into a faint smirk. “Were you worried about me, Princess?” My voice rasped but it still came out steady.

Her breath caught and her lips pressed together as she looked at me like she wanted to hit me and hold me at the same time.

“Don’t tell me the cat’s got your tongue,” I interrupted, my smirk widening. “You wouldn’t be the first to find me attractive.”

Her eyes went wide and she smacked her palm against my chest. It was not hard enough to hurt, more like she needed to do something. “Please,” she muttered, voice trembling but sharp, “you’re full of yourself.”

“Ouch, I am fragile,” I said, feigning a wince. “Please, princess. I’m wounded so be gentle with me.”

“Fragile my ass,” Veythar snorted. “She’s staring at you like a moth to a flame. You’ve waited for this moment your whole damn life.”

She almost laughed, but stopped herself, biting her lip. Her eyes flicked down at my arm, at the blood seeping through my jacket. “You need help and you’re bleeding.”

I lowered my voice, leaning closer so only she could hear. “Then why don’t you hold me a little tighter? That’ll fix it.”

Her breath caught again as her chest rose faster. She shifted back slightly, trying to put space between us, but her hands stayed on my shoulders.

Gods, she was trying so hard to hide it. The tremble in her hands, the heat in her cheeks. And every second of it made me want her more.

Inside me, Veythar stirred, restless, and his voice was sharp like claws. ‘Do it. Drag her close and kiss her until she can’t think. She’s ours.’

My jaw clenched, I had forced myself to stay still but my eyes couldn’t stop moving over her face, like that was going to be the last time I would see her.

The faint line of her brow, the softness of her lips, the way her hair smelled when it fell near my face and something else… something that was just her.

She was leaning closer without realizing as her breath brushed my cheek.

I lifted a hand, slow, brushing the soot from her face. Her skin was warm under my thumb. She didn’t move.

“You don’t have to talk,” I murmured, my voice low, rough. “You don’t have to explain. I already know.”

Her eyes turned to mine, wide and questioning. “Know what?” she whispered.

“That you can’t stay away from me,” I said, teasing again, but my heart was pounding against my chest— so hard that it hurt.

I leaned in as her breath hitched. My body felt like it was on fire, not from the adrenaline rush but it came from her.

‘Now,’ Veythar growled inside me, fierce and hungry. ‘Now, Orin. She’s been waiting for us.’

My mouth hovered a breath from hers. Her eyes flicked to my lips. My hand slid to the back of her neck, not pulling, just holding.

Gods, she was soft.

I could taste her breath already.

‘Oh yes. This is perfect,’ Veythar purred.

“Bring the healers!” Soren’s voice cracked through the air.

Then the world exploded.

We had forgotten that we were not alone and the timing was flawless in the worst possible way.

‘Damn you, Soren!’, Veythar cursed loudly.

We jerked apart, almost violently. Her eyes went wide, but her hands were still on my arms.

“I… I… we need to get you to the healers,” she stammered, stumbling over her words.

I blinked at her, letting a smirk tug my lips. “I’m fine,” I said low, letting my shoulder brush past hers as I shifted slightly. “I don’t need anyone to hold me. I can walk there myself.”

Her lips parted, eyes widened in surprise. “No, you’re not—”

“I said I’m fine,” I interrupted, voice dropping. “Stop hovering like I’m about to collapse. You’re not the boss of me.”

Her hands hovered near my shoulders like she wanted to grab me. “You’re impossible,” she muttered.

I shot her a crooked and wicked grin. “Another time, princess. Another time.”

I picked myself up and walked away. Every step hurt, every muscle screaming, but I refused to give her satisfaction.

Veythar roared inside me, claws scraping, sharp and desperate. ‘Why are you leaving her? Why didn’t you take her?’

I forced my jaw to unclench. “Not yet,” I whispered under my breath.

Veythar’s voice thundered, shaking my chest from inside. ‘We’ve waited centuries for her and you wasted the one chance we had?’

I swung my leg over the bike, muscles coiling, fire still licking at the edges of my jacket. I shut my eyes for a moment as I drove into the tunnel, the noise of the arena fading behind me.

Kaelis' povThe faint smell of chlorine had become my favorite smell and it was the only companion I had.The work at the clinic had become way more exhausting than I had intended. I had no time for myself, and I had become a shadow of my former self-- not that I knew who that was, but the person I intended on becoming with the memory loss wasn't this.I didn't expect lending a helping hand would lead to me getting called even at odd hours to do minor treatments and whatnot.I wanted to find myself and not be ungrateful... that was the only reason I had taken the job as an healer-- not like I had a choice in the decision anyways but I felt useful. Letting out a heavy sigh as I continued washing the medical instruments in the sink. The dreams or visions were not helping either. Some days I had woken up exhausted, while others I had woken up being scared and on rare occasions I had woken up happy, but one thing had remained constant —the male voice —the biggest part of the puzzle that

Soren’s povI had barely sat on the throne when the door was forced open. Three men came in, in fast strides like it was urgent.I didn't even let them settle themselves since they had disturbed my sleep that morning. “What are the plans for the invasion?” I asked, my eyes wandering around the men that stood before me.“We are stronger, no doubts but they are larger in numbers than us,” One of my commanders said.I let out a short but heavy laugh. “That better not be why you woke me up way too early this morning,” I threatened.“My lord,” the men voiced out in one voice, bowing their heads.I stood up from the seat and walked slowly, each steps were taken with great precision to exert fear and power. I had come to learn that power wasn't gotten by groveling or be kind, rather it was meant to be taken.I had held this seat as King not because I was weak, instead I had it because I was brutal and that made me one of the most fearsome King in all of the seven kingdoms. Orin’s PovI couldn’t stop myself from kissing her— her scent drew me in… I didn’t want to stop. This was like how I had imagined it… her lips were so soft. My free hand cupped her boobs as I felt her tense under my hand. Her moan turned me on and I could hear Veythar roaring in my head.‘Yes! Go on, claim her,’ he commanded as his voice boomed in my chest. My hands roamed all over her body— exploring and trying to take in every inch of her body. Her moans had gotten less faint than they were before.I picked her up and damn she was light— like a feather weight. She wrapped her legs round my waist as she held my neck tighter but didn’t break the kiss. She went in deeper and rougher than she had before. Her nails dug deep into my skin, sending a sharp sting of pain through my body but it was a pleasurable pain that I didn’t want to end.Slowly, I moved whilst still carrying her to the bedroom. I had to give her the utmost Orin Ashvale special.I placed her gently on the wooden table

Kaelis’ povI was running.I was running in the woods… but I wasn’t running away from danger, instead I was laughing and alive.A good time.“You need to slow down, Crimson,” a voice called out from the woods.“No chance,” I said giggling, turning back, then I headed forward but stopped when I got to a cliff. The water flowed from the mountain in a narrow line into the vast river that in turn flowed into the sea.The beauty of nature had always left me mesmerized and the goddess did indeed do a great job.“You are trying to make me fail the test?” The voice called out from the woods again. It felt familiar like I knew who the voice had belonged to but couldn’t place a name or face.“Come see this,” I beckoned the person to come and look at the beauty of nature that I was soaking in. “Isn’t it beautiful?”“Yes, it is,” the voice finally came out from the woods and his face shined with the light— so bright I couldn’t see who it was but I was happy. Heck, the happiest that I had been in

Myra’s PovI should not have gone there but still I found myself answering his call— as usual. When it came to Orin, I tend to lose my self-will and bend to whatever he asked of me. He was my biggest flaw and damn it, if I don’t get my feelings under control— I might harm Kaelis. I didn’t want her to be in the crosshairs of whatever was going on between Orin and I.‘What if she is his mate?’ Isla— my lycan roared.“His mate?” I spit out. “She is a Luna who doesn’t know who she is. How can she be his mate?”‘We can’t rule out the possibility,’ she was restless.“She is a wolf and cannot be his mate. Besides, Orin doesn’t have a mate, does he?” I asked as I tried to shake off the unease I felt.‘None that we know of. His last mate died because she wasn’t strong enough to accept his lycan,’ “She wasn’t his mate but he let her die, regardless,” I snorted.I knew about the curse that had plagued Orin but had sworn to not tell anyone but he kept treating me like I was nothing— just his se

Orin’s povI was staring at Kaelis’s lifeless body on my bed. I had brought her to the one place that I could keep her safe. Her fingers were pale, lying lifeless on the blanket and I couldn’t move. My arms felt heavy, my stomach twisted. My throat felt tight, and every beat of my heart echoed like a drum.My hands itched to touch her, to make sure she was real, but I stayed frozen, afraid that even a small movement could shatter something fragile inside her. My eyes traced the curve of her jaw, the soft line of her cheek, the shaking of her eyelids as she breathed. She looked peaceful, almost unaware of the chaos she had survived, but my body shook with guilt and fear.“Dammit,” I muttered, pacing back and forth, the floor creaking beneath my feet. ‘You’re staring too hard. She’s alive and not dead— at least not yet. Stop pacing, Orin. It makes you look like a caged animal.’ Veythar groaned.I growled under my breath, stopping mid-step. My hands clenched into fists at my sides. “Sh
