ALEXIS' POV As I pack my bagpack to leave for home, my eyes meets Aurora's locker and my heart breaks again at the thought of her. I cannot believe she would miss school of all days like this. Somehow, I feared something might be wrong with her. What if she's got a cold or running a fever. I should probably stop judging her and plan to visit her at her parents house as soon as I am off work. My fingers pause to the door of my own locker as a lean feminine frame walks behind me and stops at the locker I had just finished staring at. She opens it and ignores my presence while I just stand there and watch, my heart breaking to a million pieces. My fucking best friend has been around in school all these while and still has the nerves to show up in my face, a total snob. I am going to rip this bitch's head off."You fucking bitch." I hiss at her, stressing every word for emphasis. Aurora whips her head around to face me, her face devoid of all emotions. Instead, there is a rude sneer on
ALEXIS' POV I sit on my desk, trying my best to concentrate and have my assignment done. But as always, my thoughts are all over the place and as a result, I growl lowly in frustration and bury my head under my books on the table. I wish I never had to deal with the dramas going on in my life right now. The sound of stone hitting against my closed windows jerks my brain back to reality and I immediately raise my head and stare at the direction of the window, wondering what could be the source of the noise. Again, another stone hits the window and a small pebble rolls inside my room. As I stare at the pebble lying innocently by my feet, I clench my fist in a tight ball. I am sure it is the neighboring kids that are the culprits. I have warned them a countless number of times to stop stoning my window and for a while, they went silent and I was grateful they had resigned from their evil works. But now again?I pick the pebble and hurry to the window, prepared to send the pebble back to
ALEXIS' POVHis lips feel cold and yet, felt eccentric at the same time. At first, his whole body tenses and freezes at my action as shock overtakes him and just when I am about to pull back, he reaches for my waist and pulls me closer to him, sealing his lips to mine again. This time, his lips feel warm and his gentle breath fans over my face. My lashes flutter close as my entire being enjoys the taste of mouth. It tastes of mint and a bit of coffee. Pulling even closer till our bodies are almost entwined as one, I deepened the kiss even more. He plays with my bottom lip, nibbling on them gently with his teeth and I subconsciously moan in pleasure. After a few seconds, he slowly comes to a halt and pulls his head away a bit. It takes me a few more seconds to open my own eyes and when I finally do, I can see his beautiful sea green eyes staring at me unbelievably. I gulp down the pleasure that only lasted a few seconds and the look he is giving me causes me to feel an instant wash of e
ALEXIS' POVBy the time I reach home, I am worn out and tired. And hungry. This time, I would blame it all on Donovan. If he had let me be at the cafeteria and not let me abandon my food on the table, I wouldn't have missed lunch or gotten super hungry this way. But the sweet scent of cooking food that thickens the air in the entire room comforts me and my stomach grumbles in hunger, eager to devour whatever is cooking in the kitchen."Grandma! I'm home." I announce, pulling off my shoes and heading lazily towards the kitchen. But as soon as I walk into the kitchen, my feet freeze instantly and my eyes protrude, staring at the sight before me. Randall is helping grandma Rivera in the kitchen and as soon as he sees me, he stops and wipes his wet hands on a kitchen towel and sends me a small smile. "Hi, Alex."I continue to stand, rooted in my spot as I watch the most unbelievable sight of Randall in our home! How did he even find out where I live? And most importantly, why is he here?
ALEXIS' POVAs I sit in the front seat of Randall's car while he drives in the subtle darkness of the night, I keep my mouth on mute and refuse to say a word to him while he keeps the silence as well. I swear to myself that as his reward for forcing me to go on a stroll with him against my free will, I would be the most boring person and make him regret his efforts. Soon, we arrive at the city and on natural instincts, my body stretches on my seat and I watch the view from the windows of the car. My eyes takes in the sight of the tall towers that makes up the beautiful city and the neon colored lights that beautifies the buildings, giving vibrant lightning to the streets, very much contrasting to the gothic darkness of my village. There are water fountains along the roads and at the centers. Beautiful, tall and eccentric. Along the streets, walking in god-like manners, are the elites dressed in the most fairest and expensive of dresses and cloaks. They look like the gods themselves. T
ALEXIS' POVAfter we leave Rachel's place, Randall drives me somewhere else, all the while stealing glances at me. When I cannot take it anymore and his stares are making me uncomfortable, I snap at him."Would you stop doing that?""Doing what?" He keeps his eyes on the road and feigns oblivion."Stop staring at me. I saw you stare at me.""Oh." He blinks and says, finally aware that he has been caught. After a few seconds later, he adds. "Pardon me, mi lady. For I have not seen anyone as fairer as you today."I find my face blushing, heating up tomato red at his words. Immediately, I look away towards the window to hide my face from him. "How absurd." I fake a laugh."What is absurd? The fact that I couldn't take my eyes off you or the fact that you are the prettiest girl I have seen today?" I hesitate to answer and that instant, my mind travels back to my conversation with Rachel, her words replaying in my head. ............"Do you like my brother?""I think he likes you.""He d
ALEXIS' POVThe next day at school, the hall is swarmed with students whispering excitedly to each other and mentioning something about a 'big party.' Even though my ears crave to know what party they were so eager about, I can not bring myself to ask any one of them. Usually, I would ask Aurora who always has her ears to the ground. But I know that is not an option now since she had decided to cut me off and stop being friends with me for a reason best known to her. After classes end for the day, Randall approaches me by my locker and I can not deny his presence makes me feel so much guilt and unease that I have not felt for a really long time. The memories of last night play in my head and a part of me feel awful for leading him on. His sister was right; he likes me. And it hurts me that I do not reciprocate his feelings. I have broken my promise to Rachel in less than twenty four hours. "Hey." His deep masculine voice comes, a small smile on his face. The Randall standing before
ALEXIS' POVWhen I get to the cafe, I am surprised to discover that even Paisley is getting dressed and prepared for the 'big party.' And so were the other girls I had come across as I walked to work today. It is as if I am the only girl in the whole of Redwood who is totally clueless about the current event. Again, I remind myself that if only Aurora did not choose to be a mean bitch, I would have heard the full details of the event already. A part of me wonders if she is attending the supposed party too. Curse you, Aurora. Curse you for ditching me."By the moon goddess!" Paisley exclaims in pure horror as soon as she sets eyes on me and I immediately look around me for the signs of anything that could have triggered her to stare at me in alarm that way. "Don't tell me you are working today of all days!"She stares at me wide eyed as she stands directly in front of me. With the way she is staring at me, it is as if I had committed the worst crime in the entire world. "Uh…yes." I s
