Sam dragged you to his spot before school this morning, he stands opposite you on the grass.

"Lessons begin today." He announces.

"Do you not think I get enough lessons at school?" You laugh.

"No, werewolf lessons, smartass." Sam chuckles.

"Fine, where do we start?" You roll your eyes.

"Have you had anything weird happen to you?" Sam asks.

"Care to elaborate?" You reply.

"Like when you get angry, have you developed claws, any unnatural behaviours?" Sam asks.

"No." You hesitate.

"Oh, have you had any signs that you're a werewolf?" Sam's tone a little shocked.

"I won ten dollars against Tara for scoring thirty baskets in two minutes." You burst out laughing.

"That's inhumane!" Sam laughs along.

"But it was fun." You're still laughing.

"Well, I guess no lessons today." Sam smiles.

"Great, where are your bruises?" You ask, confused.

"We heal fast, thankfully." Sam smiles.

There's a beat of silence between you a moment, you look up at Sam.

"I'm worried about mom." Your tone sad.

"She will be fine, come on, to school with you." Sam tugs you to his car.

Sam drives you to school again, it seems to be a frequent occurrence at the moment.

"I really have to get my own car, you cramp my style." You mock Sam.

"Because you have such a reputation to uphold." Sam laughs.

"No, I just don't need your fan girls surrounding me when I'm entering school." You choke a laugh.

You climb out of Sam's truck and head into school, the hallways are decorated with Homecoming banners and people are all abuzz about homecoming as you're walking down the hallway and bump into Madison and her two followers.

"Watch where you're going freak." She cackles.

"Whose that Mads?" One of her followers asked.

"My boyfriends freak of a little sister." Madison laughs.

"Last I checked you weren't dating Sam." You smirk.

"Not yet but I will be." Madison replies.

"Hadn't realised Malibu barbies were his thing." You mock her again.

Madison glares at you.

"I find it highly unlikely that Sam will date you." You laugh.

"Oh, is that so?" Madison snaps.

"Mhmm." You smile.

Nate starts walking towards you up the corridor, you roll your eyes and try an avoid eye contact. Like I need him right now . Nate steps between you both.

"What seems to be the problem, Madison?" He looks to Madison for an answer.

"She's making fun of me." She cries a little bit.

"There's three of you and one of her, if she's so bad why not go to the principal?" Nate asked.

"I-erm-erm." Madison stutters.

"Run along, take your friends with you." You laugh at her and give her a little wave.

"This isn't over." She growls at you.

Madison and her friends strut off down the hallway, you turn to Nate, observing him a moment.

"Thanks, I guess but I had her handled." You smile at him.

"I know but I wanted to prove that I'm not like my dad." He explains.

"You're still a coward." You snap.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I'm sorry." Nate looks hurt.

"Sorry doesn't change what happened." You explain.

"Then tell me what it will take for you to forgive me." He gives you a playful smirk.

"Prove your sorry." You give him a flirty smirk.

"Deal. Need bags carried?" He holds his arms out.

"Way to try but I'm good." You laugh.

You walk away from Nate, you know that no matter what he does you'll never forgive him. You spot Sam heading in your direction, he looks angry, like he's on a mission. He comes to a halt in front of you.

"What did you say to Madison?" He snaps.

"Nothing she didn't deserve." You feel your mouth curving into a smile.

"Can't you eb nice to people for once?" Sam's still angry.

"Her and her friends were harassing me, I was defending myself." You reply. frustrated.

"Walk away then, why you gotta be a child about it?" Sam narrows his eyes.

"Sorry I don't handle things how I should, no one ever taught me how!" You snap, tears building at the corner of your eyes.

"Stop the woe is me, I lost my dad too." Sam remarks sadly.

"Do you think I don't know this Sam, you remind me every day." You sigh.

"Let's not do this here, people are staring." He glances at a group of students staring at you.

He pulls you into an empty classroom, closing the door behind you.

"You think I don't feel guilty for you growing up without a dad?" Sam looks at you sincere.

"This isn't about dad, it's about you treating me like a kid." You reply sadly.

Sam let's out a sigh "I'm trying to protect you, Liv." His tone aggressive still.

"Protect me from who?" You question, irritably.

"Nate, his dad and his pack." Sam replies.

"I don't need you to protect me." You're visibly angry now.

"Yes you do because they will do to you what they did to dad." Sam hissed.

"And you know this how? I doubt it." You reply.

Sam grows more angry you for not believing Nate will hurt you, you glance at Sam again.

"Can you please back off you're suffocating me." You sigh.

"Sorry." Sam replies, his face a picture of guilt.

You decide to get back to the original reason Sam was having ago at you, because of Madison, you take a deep breath and begin.

"You need to believe me, Madison and her friends were harassing me, ask Nate, he saw the whole thing."

"Why were you hanging out with Nate?" Sam snaps.

"Jesus! I wasn't he saw Madison harassing me, he came over and told her to go to the principal if she was being harassed, so take your girlfriend to the principal, I don't care." You yell.

"Fine!" Sam hisses.

You storm out of the classroom, slamming the door as you leave. I'm so done for today. You walk down the hall, it's filled with excited students, Tara is waiting for you by her locker, you join her side.

"Hey, are you going to homecoming?" She asked.

"Probably not." You laughed.

"Why? We could have gone together." She asked.

"While I appreciate the offer, I'll avoid it." You smiled.

Mid conversation Madison interrupts you.

"it's because the freak can't get a date." Madison smirked.

"Leave me alone Madison." You calmly asked her.

"No Nate to save you this time?" She looks around you for Nate.

"Nate's not my protector." You snapped.

"Oh I know, he's taking Taylor anyway." She points to the brunette standing to her left.

"Probably just felt sorry for her." You mocked.

"I feel sorry for you not having a dad, I'd leave to if you were my daughter." Madison smirked.

"You're vile, you're trying to leech of my brother for popularity." You snapped.

"Take that back." Madison's eyes flare with rage.

"No." Your voice is loud right now.

Madison lunges at you, you feel a rage in the pit of your stomach, it's uncontrollable, you lunge back at her a fight breaks out between you and Madison, you feel your claws piercing through your fingers. No, no not now please. You try your hardest to supress the claws, nothing is working, you begin to panic, you can't stop the fight Madison will think she's won at the same time if you don't stop you'll hurt her. Before you have time to react you collapse to the ground, Madison is towering over you. You hear a familiar voice.

"What did you do?" The voice is filled with anger.

"Nate! She attacked me." Madison laughed.

While this fight was happening you hadn't noticed Tara slip off to get Sam. Sam walks down the corridor followed by Tara. You glance at Tara giving her a look as to say thanks.

"What happened?" Sam directs the question to Nate.

"I don't know I just got here." Nate explained.

"Why are you always the centre of drama Olivia?" Sam snapped.

"I was just attacked and you're having ago at me." You give him a sad smile.

Another guy comes walking down the corridor, you've seen him about before but you've never met them, he's wearing a tie die vest top with shorts, white sneakers and has brown hair with a quiff.

"What's going on?" The guy asked.

"Who are you?" You glance at the new guy.

"This is Zack, my best friend, I was trying to go for lunch with him until tara came to tell me you were in a fight." Sam explained.

You glance at Tara again, you just wish she hadn't involved Sam. She mouths a sorry and you nod in acceptance. It's silent a moment.

"Does anyone want to tell me what happened?" Nate breaks the silence.

"We were talking about homecoming and then Madison came over and said that Olivia wouldn't go because she didn't have a date and called her a freak." Tara explained.

Before Madison can respond, Zack interrupts.

"That's actually what me and Sam were talking about, I'm taking her." Zack announced.

"I didn't agree to that, I didn't even know who you were until a few minutes ago." You protest.

Sam doesn't say anything Zack gives you a look as to say go along with it. Madison and her gang walk off, leaving you with Tara, Nate, Zack and Sam. Tara helps you to your feet.

"Can I get some water, I feel a little dehydrated." You asked.

Tara skips off to get you some water and the three boys look at you.

"What?" you asked.

"We should talk, the three of us." Sam replied.

"But I'm tired of keeping secrets from Tara." You sighed.

"Do you think you can trust her?" Sam asks.

"Yes, she's my best friend." You wave Sam's comment off.

"Then she comes to." Sam smiled.

Tara arrives back with a bottle of water, she hands you the water.

"Do you want to come to lunch with us?" Sam asked Tara.

"Yes, I'd love to." Tara blushed a little.

You all pile into Sam's car, you're in the back between Nate and Sam and Tara has the front seat.

"Why do i have to be squashed between these two?" You complained.

"Tara is our guest and it gives you time to get to know Zack." Sam chuckles.

Not really, Zack and Nate are having a stand off, so this is going to be a long lunch.

You arrive at Sam's spot. Tara gives you a confused look.

"I thought we were going for lunch." She asked.

"About that we need to tell you something." Sam replied sheepishly.

"What's going on?" Tara asked gobsmacked.

"I-erm, I kind of have a secret, I've been keeping my whole life and I wanted to share it with you." You explained, Tara looks at you waiting for you to continue.

"You have to promise not to tell anyone." You continue.

"I promise." Tara smiled.

"I'm a werewolf." You blurted.

"What? Is this a prank?" Tara is shocked.

"Why do you think I passed out back there? I had an episode and back at the arcade, the 30 baskets." You explain.

"Makes sense and now those three also know." Tara exclaimed.

"Erm about that." Before you can finish Tara cuts you off.

"You're all one aren't you." She looks at you all shocked.

The boys all nod, except Zack, he isn't a werewolf.

"Omigosh, erm, I promise I won't say anything, please don't hurt me." Tara's voice a squeak.

"We won't hurt you, we brought Liv here to practice control." Sam laughed.

"Why is Zack here?" Tara asked.

"Sam owes me a lunch." Zack laughed.

"Should we get started?" Sam asked.

"Before we start, why is Nate here?" You asked, aggravated.

"I'm the only one that can piss you off enough to turn." He gives you a smirk.

"Just your face infuriates me." You spat.

"Perfect." Nate laughed.

You spend hours practicing control.

"I think we should be good with claw control now, show me." Sam instructed.

Nate walks up to you getting in your face, he's so close you can smell his cologne, he smells like Cinnamon and Musk.

"You look cute today." He smirks at you again.

"Ugh, shut up, you're such an ass." You snapped. But damn I'd go weak for him to look at me like that again.

You feel the claws coming, you breath, squeeze and retract them.

"Good, now we eat." Sam smiled.

"I think I'll give it a miss, take me home please." You replied.

Sam obliges and drives you home, before dropping Tara off. You head to bed, today's been pretty exhausting.

The next morning you wake up, but something feels off, like something is going to happen but you don't actually know what, you get ready for school but decide to walk today. You arrive at school, homecoming banners are everywhere, everyone is all a buzz. You find Tara and Sam walking in together.

"what's going on?" You asked.

"Homecoming little sis." Sam smiled.

"Obviously but isn't there usually a game before it, the one you did the other day was practice." You joked.

"Yes, we've got to head to the game soon." Sam smiled again.

"We?" You asked shocked.

"Me, Zack and Nate." Sam laughed.

"Please don't kill each other." You give Sam a serious look.

"I wouldn't dream of it, besides if we do how will I ever take Tara to homecoming." Sam smirked.

"What did I miss?" You gasp.

"We got talking last night when I drove her home, she seems really cool so I asked her to homecoming." Sam explained.

"Awesome, but Madison will lose it." You laughed.

"Meh, don't worry you will get a date too." Sam laughed.

"I thought Zack was taking you." Tara raised an eyebrow.

"Erm yeah that's not happening, also he hasn't asked me properly anyway." You replied.

"As much as I'd love to stay and chat we have a game to win." Sam kisses Tara's cheek and heads off towards the locker rooms.

"So, major news that Sam is taking you to homecoming." You smiled.

"Yeah, I just wish you were going." Tara replied sadly.

"It's not really my vibe, you have fun though." You give her an apologetic smile.

"Sure I'll have fun for both of us, do you want to go dress shopping after school?" Tara asked.

"Yeah we can look for a dress for you." You smiled.

"We should get you one just in case." Tara grinned.

Does she know something I don't? Tara grabs you and drags you to your locker, you wait for her to finish up before heading to class.

Classes are over, you hear people cheering out on the quad, you go to see what everyone is cheering about.

"What's going on?" You asked.

"We won!" Zack smiled.

"Awesome, where's Sam?" You search for Sam.

"He's in that crowd somewhere." Zack laughed, pointing at the sea of people.

Before you can say anything, Madison approaches you.

"Here we go again." You mutter to yourself.

"Does your freak little friend think she's clever taking Sam to Homecoming?" Madison squawked.

"Sam asked her to prom, I'm sure there's plenty of guys willing to put themselves through torture for a dance." You laughed.

"Excuse me!" Madison squealed.

"You heard me." You give her a triumphant grin.

She looks between you and Zack, a smirk spreads across her face.

"What about you?" She points at Zack.

"Me?" Zack gives her a confused look.

"Yep, go to homecoming with me." Madison smirks.

"I was hoping to ask someone else." Zack flushes pink.

Zack looks at you, you avoid his eye contact, Nate swoops in to steal you for a conversation, he pulls you away from Zack and Madison.

"What do you want Nate?" You smile.

"I wanted to check in on you." He grins.

"Like I told Sam, I'm not a child." You snapped.

"Sorry, erm are you going to Homecoming?" He shuffles on the spot.

"You're like the third person to ask, no I'm not." You try to shut the conversation down.

"Can I ask why?" Nate smiles.

"Busy." You brush him off.

"We can skip together." Nate blurted.

"I'd rather not. I thought you were taking Taylor anyway." You laughed.

"Nah, she's going with Zack after you rejected him." Nate laughed.

"Ask Madison, she's desperate for a date." You mocked.

Nate gives you a sort of please shut up look. You and Nate head back to the others to continue the conversation.

"Did he agree to take you?" You asked.

"No." Zack shut it down straight away.

"Because you're taking Taylor?" You Smiled.

"Erm-yeah." Zack blushes.

"Great well Nate will take you Madison." You blurted while laughing.

Nate looks at you gobsmacked.

"We were talking and I suggested he take you." You smiled.

Madison turns to Nate.

"Nate?" She gives him a flirty smirk.

"Hmm, yeah if you want to." Nate replies zoned out.

Nate looks at you as though he thought you were joking with a mix of disappointment.

"Anyway as nice as this conversation is we have to go dress shopping." You smiled.

You see Zack and Nate whisper something to Tara, she skips up to you and practically drags you to the dress shop. You arrive at the dress shop, Tara has been acting really weird.

"Why are you acting off?" You asked.

"What do you mean?" Tara smiled.

"You're really eager for me to go to the dance, I really don't want to go." You continue.

"I want to spend homecoming with you." She explained.

"Go, enjoy it with Sam, isn't this what you've always wanted." You smiled.

"Will you at least try on dresses with me?" She gives you pleading eyes.

"Fine." You sigh.

You spend a few hours trying on dresses, Tara is settled on one.

"Did you find one you liked?" Tara asked.

"Yes." You're sick of the conversation.

"Get it!" Tara encourages.

"T, I said I wasn't going." You're adamant.

"Get it for prom, it won't be there when you have to dress shop for prom." She grinned.

"Ugh, you're not going to give up are you?" You huff.

"No." Tara giggles.

"Fine." You buy the dress and head home.

"I need to make a detour." Tara grinned.

She drags you to Sam's spot.

"What are we doing here?" You questioned.

"Meeting Sam." Tara giggled.

You hear footsteps behind you, you spin on your heel. Zack's standing there.

"Homecoming?" Zack blushed.

"I didn't want to go! What is happening?" You reply sadly.

"While I appreciate the offer, you're going with Taylor and I'm not going." You let him down gently.

"She's going with someone else." Zack insists.

"I'm sorry, I don't want to go, it's just not my thing, I don't have a lot of school spirit." You explained.

"It's cool I get it." He looks a little dejected.

"Thanks." You smiled.

You walk off, leaving Tara and Zack stood there, you head home.
