You've arrived at Nate's for the holidays; his mom greets you.

Are you two looking forward to the holidays?” she hugs you as you enter the house.

Sort of, it's my first one alone” You sigh a little, remembering Sam and your mom aren’t here for the holidays.

“I'm sorry Hunnie, I'll make it as fun as possible.” She hugs you.

“Thankyou.” You give her a soft smile.

“Why don't you two head upstairs and unpack, I'll work on dinner.” She nodded in the direction of the stairs.

You and Nate head upstairs.

“So, our first Christmas together as a couple.” Nate beams at you.

“You don't have to make small talk, to try and make me feel better.” You smile, softly.

“I know but I also know it's hard for you right now.” Nate sighed sadly.

“As long as we have each other I'll be okay.” You reassured him.

I wanted to give you a gift early, to lighten the mood a little.” He smiled at you.

“Oh erm, I brought yours, do you want one now?” You blush a little, showing him the nicely wrapped gifts you brought with you.

“No, I'll be fine.” Nate grinned.

‘He lost his dad and he's super strong about it.’ “You are sure, we are kind of in the same boat.” You smiled at him.

“I'm sure, my dad wasn't exactly a nice man.” Nate threw you a half smile.

“Oh, right.” You’re a little taken aback from Nates comment.

“Here.” Nate passes you a beautifully wrapped parcel, in a beautiful golden paper.

You open it and see a charm bracelet. It’s silver with aquamarine crystals and a dove in the centre of the bracelet.

“It's beautiful, thank you.” You feel tears prick the corner of your eyes.

“Only the best for you.” Nate beams at you.

You hug Nate. His mother calls you from the kitchen, you head down to see what she wants.

“I wanted to talk to you, see how you're getting on.” She smiled.

“I'm doing okay, is there anything I can help with?” You scout around the kitchen behind her.

“Well, I'm pre preparing the dinner for tomorrow, could you peel these for me.” She passes you a sack of potatoes.

“Sure thing.” You begin peeling.

“I was wondering, how do you feel about Nate?” She beamed at you.

“Why do you ask?” You look shocked at her. Not expecting that question.

He's never had a proper girlfriend before, so clearly you mean a lot to him, but I just wondered how you feel about him. I'll tell you how he feels about you.

“You raised an amazing guy, he's so caring and sweet, I don't know what I'd do without him.” You begin to explain.

“I'm glad to hear that, he talks about you all the time.” She beams at you across the counter.

“He's the best, I really love him, when I’m sad he knows what to say to make me feel better.” You giggle a little bit.

“I hope that you found your person with my son, I know him being a werewolf is a little difficult to grasp.” She smiled softly.

“Did he not tell you?” You laugh.

“What?” She gasped.

“I'm a werewolf too.” You explained.

“He told me Sam your brother was, I'm glad he has someone of his own to love him.” She smiled.

“I'm lucky I found him.” You remind her.

“Thank you again for inviting me.” You give her a small hug, as if on cue Nate walks in the kitchen.

“Were you planning on keeping my girlfriend all night?” Nate joked.

“Hey, she offered to help with thanksgiving dinner.” His mom laughed.

“I'm glad you're both getting on.” Nate grinned; you turn to Nate's mom.

“When do you have to return to your place?” You asked.

“I'm not, I'm here for good now, even when Nate moves out and has his own family.” His mom explained, Nate shoots you a side glance.

“I'm glad you're staying.” you grin at her.

“Do you know what your sister that lives next door is doing for thanksgiving?” She asked.

“My brother's girlfriend, so I guess yeah, Madison.” You smiled.

“Ah yes, what does she have planned?” She beamed.

“She's at her parents.” You replied.

“Well let her know she's welcome next year.” She smiled.

“I will do.” You nod at her.

“Nate sweetie, do you want to go get the surprise for Olivia? It's due to arrive any moment.” She bounces, giddy.

“On it.” You stand confused still peeling potatoes, Nate walks back in a few minutes later, you hear some heels follow behind him, you take a moment to look up.

“Omigosh! You're here!” You stare at the surprise, stunned.

“Happy thanksgiving.” Tara runs at you and hugs you.

“I'm so happy, why aren't you at Oscar's?” You asked, still stunned she’s here.

“We haven't been dating long enough for me to meet his parents yet.” Tara grinned.

“Why don't you three go order some takeout for tonight and watch a movie?” Nate’s mom suggested.

“Are you sure? I'm almost done.” You asked, you have like three potatoes left to peel.

“I'm sure, Mac can finish those.” Mac groans from the garden, you all laugh, you wash up and head into the living room.

You get comfortable on the sofa, Nate takes Tara to pick up the takeout, they return an hour later with an extra guest.

“Sup nerd.” Oscar appeared, laughing.

“Oscar!” You grinned, wrapping him in a tight hug.

“How are you doing?” He asked.

“I'm good, come sit, Nate did you get enough for him?” You glanced at Nate.

“Yes, I bought four pizzas, should be enough, right?” Nate looks between you all.

“More than enough.” You laughed.

Nate places the pizzas on the table and sits beside you. You all finally settle on a movie, and you cuddle up to Nate. Suddenly you feel your eyes getting heavy. You wake up a couple of hours later, in Nate's room. Nate's lying next to you.

“Sorry, I slept through the movie.” You mutter, your voice sleepy.

“It's alright, it's just finished, I've been here since, how'd you sleep?” He asked.

” Like a baby.” You beamed.

“What did you and my mom talk about earlier?” Nate asked.

“Nothing bad, I promise.” You laughed.

“She was asking me how I felt about you.” You began to explain.

“What did you say?” He stares at you in shock.

“I told her I love you, which you already know but I also told her why I love you.” You giggled a little.

“Why is that?” Nate questioned.

“You're sweet, caring, you've been my best friend the past few months, you were my rock through my hurt.” You explained.

“I have a rep to maintain.” Nate blushed.

“Wouldn't want people knowing you're going soft?” You giggled.

“We best sleep, moms got a lot planned for tomorrow, sweet dreams.” He starts changing into his pyjamas.

“Sweet dreams.” You press a kiss on his cheek. You drift off in Nate's arms.

The next morning, you wake up, Nate isn't in bed.

He didn't wake me.’

The door opens, Nate pops his head in, he's carrying a plate of pancakes.

“You made me breakfast?” You stare at him in shock.

“Yes, I hope you like it.” He places the pancakes on the bed next to you, you demolish them.

Thanksgiving had come and gone just as quick, before you knew it, the holidays were over, and you were heading back to university.

“Whose driving who?” Oscar asked.

“It would be a bit weird if we didn't take our own girlfriends.” Nate laughed.

“Right, I didn't think, come on T, we will see you both there.” Oscar leads Tara to his car.

“See you.” You wave to Tara and Oscar and climb into Nate's truck to head back to school.
