CHAPTER 2

JOSHUA POV.

“This can't be happening, what have I done to deserve this.

N-no w-hy is this ha-ppen-ning, I began to stammer as blood was seriously gushing out from me.

I kept asking why, but I have no idea where to start or how to stop it. I glanced left and right, but nobody was there to assist me. As a strong dragon and Alpha, I felt helpless. I attempted to defend myself since this is wrong, but it didn't seem like I could. I asked repeatedly, but everywhere was quiet except for my own voice, leaving me perplexed as to why this was occurring. I felt so gregarious. When the agony got too great, I knew my heart was on the verge of leaving my body”.

I hope it ends soon. I said, "I woke up quickly and noticed I was sweating profusely before realizing what was going on." It was only a nightmare; even though I felt some comfort, I couldn't figure out what had happened or identify the person who was doing this to me.

When I attempted to get up from where I was lying on the couch, I felt a sudden, acute pain on my left side of the chest, which I realized was my heart. I sensed something wasn't right, but I brushed it off and got up from the couch without giving it any thought. I should at least get a little sleep—it's 5:30 in the morning. I made my way upstairs to my room, where I collapsed into the bed to sleep.

I woke up at 7:00 in the morning with a slight headache. I made my way to the drawer in my room then got out my tooth brush then put a paste on it before heading to the bathroom. After bathing, I ate breakfast after that and made the decision to stay home because I didn't feel like going anywhere today. Up until midday, I had no idea that I was just lounging around.

Suddenly, I knew it was already Jason and Steve since they knocked. They always choose to work alone when doing tasks. We chose to have a game of table tennis. We couldn't be stopped by the excessive heat.

We put up the table tennis table in my backyard and got into a nice game of tennis. I was on one team and Jason and Steve on the other. We decided to play until one squad scored twenty-one points.

I had a quick and precise serve, Jason had a deft backhand spin, and Steve had a strong forehand smash. The ball bounced and spun on the table and in the air as we traded rallies, smashes, and blocks.

With 19 points apiece, Steve and Jason were just ahead of me with 18. Steve used a forehand drive to return the ball after I had served it. I swiftly shifted to the other side of the table and used a backhand chop to hit the ball. Near the edge of the table, on Steve and Jason’s side, the ball landed and bounced off. I made it 19–19 with a point. This time, I couldn't stop laughing and told them I would win the game.

Steve picked up the ball and got ready to serve. He launched the ball into the air and made a paddle swing. The ball curved in the air as a result of his side-spin shot. I positioned myself correctly, anticipating the spin. With a counterspin, he swung his paddle and struck the ball. As it returned to Steve and Jason's side, the ball struck the net and landed on their end. I added another point to make the score 19–20. I could feel the anger boiling on Steve's face.

I had the match won by a single point. I accepted the ball with a self-assured smile. When I threw the ball into the air, it came down with a topspin. The ball bounced and traveled quickly in the direction of Steve and Jason. With a swift response, Steve took the lead at the table. He swung his paddle and smashed the ball. The ball flew past the goal and landed close to the table's corner on my side. When I attempted to reach the ball, it was too far away and too fast. When I failed to catch the ball, it bounced off the table. It was 20–20 after a point from Steve. In your face Josh, Steve said, with a huge smile on his face. Remaining the final shut down I said to Steve. Jason looked at the both of us and pleaded we should end the game; we both looked at him and shouted NO…

Steve threw the ball into the air and returned a backspin on it. The ball had a low trajectory and a lot of spin as it traveled in my direction. I took a close look at the ball before moving to the middle of the table. With a flick of my paddle, I struck the ball. The ball crossed the goal and fell close to the edge of the table on Steve and Jason's side. Jason and Steve both made a lunge for the ball, but they clashed and missed it. The ball rolled on the grass after bouncing off the table. I scored the last point to make the score 20–21. I was jumping around the table so vigorously that I was rubbing my excitement on both of them. I won... I won.

Steve got angry and went inside, I left Jason outside and went inside to get water to drink because at this point I was really thirsty.

When I heard Steve yelling Jason's name out of the blue, I didn't think it was a big deal until he entered the room crying and asked to be helped to the pack. I was quite taken aback and perplexed by what had transpired. We led him over to the group. I was unaware of what had happened, but I felt terrible since I knew exactly what kind of state he was in and that the following day was my wedding.

As the day progressed, the D day arrived. I was really experiencing conflicting emotions, yet I was still looking forward to today.

My Luna and I arrived at the summit of a mountain at my clan, and seeing her there made me incredibly pleased, even though I knew she would eventually become mine. I was walking towards her when I suddenly felt a piercing ache and realized that a sword had cut through me. We both looked at each other before I clung to the ground and cried, wondering "

why was this happening?”
